Chapter 21 Don’t Drive Me Away

The next morning Xie Siyuan woke up with no memory of last night.

He busily prepared breakfast, trying to please me.

I pretended to trick him. “Xie Siyuan, why don’t you leave?”

He froze instantly.

“Did I do something wrong?”

He panicked. He crouched in front of me and spoke carefully. “Shen Tingwan, you once said you would grant me one wish. Does that still count?”

My heart stung like it had been pricked by a tiny needle.

He held my hand. “You said as long as I could achieve it.

“As long as it was about you and me.

“Then… don’t drive me away, okay?”

My eyes grew hot.

Shen Weian clicked his tongue. “So dumb. Mom was lying to you.

“Last night she hugged you and kissed you several times. She kept touching you and smiling like an idiot.”

Before Xie Siyuan could react, I reached out and wrapped my arms around him.

He pulled me close, squeezing hard.

“Shen Tingwan, you swore in our wedding vows. We would be together for a lifetime.”

Then he turned Shen Weian’s head away and lowered his lips to mine.

Before we left, I said goodbye to the Fishing Village. I said goodbye to Grandma Li.

There was no point running anymore.

It was better to face it bravely.

In the past I was alone. Now I wasn’t afraid, because Xie Siyuan was with me.

When we returned I discovered he had already grown the company huge over these years.

Xie’s parents had recovered and reclaimed the family assets.

He dumped Shen Weian with his parents.

The moment we stepped through the door, he kissed me.

We kept going until we were both spent.

Until the sky outside turned pale with dawn.

He held me and told me everything that had happened these years.

After his parents learned the truth, they felt deeply sorry toward Shen Chuxue and compensated her well.

They never stopped searching for me.

Xie Siyuan told them to focus on the daughter they had just recovered. Finding me was his responsibility.

Because he was my legal other half.

Shen Chuxue had returned to the Shen family. She gradually fell in love with my former bodyguard Aze and married him.

Aze was the child I adopted from the orphanage. Turns out he was the true lost young master of the Jiang family.

Now she was already three months pregnant.

“She doesn’t blame you,” Xie Siyuan said.

“That’s because she’s kind. But that doesn’t mean I can go back.

“I can be filial to her parents, but the person I’ve wronged the most is still her.”

I no longer had a home.

But I was never supposed to have one anyway, right?

Xie Siyuan held me tighter. “It’s okay. You still have me. We still have our son.”

“You have a home too.”

Tears fell onto his palm.

“Xie Siyuan, the person I feel most sorry toward is you.”

Back then I humiliated him so badly.

“Wasn’t that just couple’s foreplay?” He laughed.

What a masochist.
