Chapter 22 The Final Choice

Happy days really were wonderful.

Shen Weian got a kids’ smartwatch. He called me every day to show off.

Until one day he sent me a location pin saying Xie’s parents were waiting for me there.

I had just parked when someone covered my mouth and nose. Everything went black.

When I woke up, I saw Shen Chuxue tied up beside me.

It was the first time I’d seen her since coming back.

The one who kidnapped us was Zhou Hao.

After his family went bankrupt, he wanted to ransom us from the Shen and Xie families.

The sound of waves crashing filled my ears.

Zhou Hao snarled viciously. “Shen Tingwan, weren’t you so arrogant?

“Let’s see who your so-called backers will save—you or the True Heiress?”

I turned my head. My gaze landed on Shen Chuxue’s belly.

There was a little life inside.

Zhou Hao slapped me several times to vent his anger.

Later we were blindfolded and dragged to the edge of a cliff.

When the blindfolds came off, several familiar cars were already parked not far away.

Zhou Hao pressed the gun to my temple. “Only one can be saved! Hand over the money and I hand over the person.”

“Don’t hurt my wife!”

Xie Siyuan roared.

There was actually one thing I never told him.

The night I decided to come back, I had another dream.

A voice said: 【Even if the plot deviates, the female supporting character still has a mandatory death ending.

【After death, everyone’s memories will be erased.

【The child named Shen Weian will only recognize Shen Chuxue as his mother. The male lead Xie Siyuan will be downgraded to second male lead and start chasing Shen Chuxue in the crematorium. The plot will come full circle.】

I cherished every second with Xie Siyuan and our son after I returned.

Sirens sounded in the distance.

Zhou Hao panicked. His finger was already on the trigger.

I smiled at everyone. “Goodbye.”

Then I loosened the ropes around my wrists.

I used to hide so many little tricks. This kind of restraint was child’s play to me.

As Xie Siyuan rushed toward me with bloodshot eyes—

I threw myself at Zhou Hao, who was holding the gun. The barrel jerked. The shot hit nothing but air.

Together we fell off the cliff.

“No!”

The cold seawater swallowed Xie Siyuan’s heart-wrenching scream.

So annoying.

Even in death I never heard him say “I love you.”

But it didn’t matter anymore.

I had used my life to pay for everything.

I closed my eyes in peace.
