Chapter 10

“Shit,” Lacy muttered when the red-and-blue lights of a police car began to flash in her rearview mirror.

Glancing at the car’s speedometer, she took her foot off the gas pedal and pulled over onto the shoulder of the highway.

She deserved a ticket for going twelve miles over the speed limit, but she couldn’t be late.

Not today. She had to get to Raleigh and the airport sooner rather than later.

Drake was coming in for the con and she needed to be there to pick him up.

The last things she needed was to spend the next five or ten minutes dealing with the crap that went with getting pulled over.

As she waited for the officer to get out of his car and approach, she retrieved the registration from the glovebox and her license from her wallet. Hopefully that would speed things along.

Ten minutes later, she was on her way again, the not-so-proud recipient of a speeding ticket.

She was approaching the exit to the airport when her phone dinged with a text.

DADDY DRAKE:

Just landed and will be at the pickup area in a few minutes.

Lacy did not bother to respond, she just drove as fast as she dared. Once she got off the highway the traffic lights were with her and soon she was easing along in the pickup lane as she watched for her man.

When she saw him, her pussy clenched, her nipples peaked and she sucked a breath. He had not changed in the six months since she’d last seen him in person, though his hair was longer and he’d allowed the silver to grow in more.

She pulled to a stop in front of him and parked. Popping out of the driver’s seat, she rounded the front of the car in a hurry. Tempted to throw herself at him, instead, she stopped with less than a foot between them.

“Hello,” she said softly, hoping her smile didn’t look like too crazy.

“Hi.” Drake took the small step that brought them together before wrapping his arms around her.

Hugging her tight, he lowered his head and kissed her. As soon as their lips pressed together, a bubble encapsulated them and they were alone.

That was, until a horn blasted at them and someone yelled, “Get a room!”

Drake broke the kiss and smiled down at her. “Guess he told us.”

“Yeah, we’re not supposed to park. But I couldn’t help myself,” Lacy said as she opened the back door.

When she reached for Drake’s suitcase, he held up a hand to stop her. “Daddies deal with luggage, Lacy-girl. Get in the car and figure out how to get to the hotel while I load up.”

“Yes, Daddy,” she whispered as her face began to burn with embarrassment.

“Good girl,” he murmured back.

It only took a few minutes before they were leaving the airport and headed to the hotel where the convention would be taking place.

“What’s this?” Drake asked, pulling the ticket out of the cubbyhole under the dash where Lacy had stuck it.

“Um, it’s a ticket,” she admitted softly.

She fought the urge to grab the paper from him and hide it. But traffic was too heavy to be distracted for even a moment.

Drake remained silent as he read the paper. Then he folded it neatly and returned it to the cubby.

“You got a speeding ticket on your way to pick me up.” His voice was soft, yet his disappointment rang loud and clear.

Lacy did not know how to argue that since he was holding the evidence, so she kept her mouth shut.

“Looks like someone is going to start the weekend with a hot ass.”

“A spanking? We don’t have to do that, Daddy.”

Lacy felt her Little trying to push forward even as she continued driving. At least they were only a couple of miles from the hotel so they would soon be out of the heavy traffic.

“Yes, we do. Health and safety issues are the ones we Daddies take most seriously. And getting a speeding ticket wasn’t safe, was it?”

Lacy sighed and her shoulders rounded as guilt flooded through her even as she tried to argue her way out of a spanking.

“No, Daddy, it wasn’t. But I was hurrying to get to you. I didn’t want you to have to wait. But I think the ticket should be enough of a consequence.”

“And what would happen if I didn’t spank you for breaking a health and safety rule?” Drake asked, sounding like he was trying not to laugh at her logic.

Lacy grinned as she said, “I’d think you’re a kind and loving Daddy. The best Daddy in the whole world.”

She could see Drake shaking his head as he chuckled. “Try again, little one. Because I think that if I don’t give you consequences for this ticket, you might believe that I’m a pushover and you can get away with anything. And we wouldn’t want you to think that, would we?”

“We wouldn’t?”

“No, Lacy-girl, we wouldn’t.”

Before she could think up another argument for not getting a spanking, she pulled into the hotel parking lot.

“Let’s go and check in and then we’ll unload the car,” Drake said once she’d parked and turned off the engine.

“Sounds like a plan to me,” Lacy agreed. “Maybe we can take some pictures before dinner.”

“Or maybe we’ll take care of your spanking before we call for room service. Now wait there and I’ll come around to help you out.”

Lacy wanted to argue that she could get out of the car by herself, but knew from all the Daddy Dom books she’d read that Daddies loved to help their Littles in and out of cars.

That was when it hit her that she should have allowed Drake to drive from the airport.

When he opened her door a few seconds later, she looked up at him and blurted, “I’m sorry.”

He blinked and looked confused as he took her hand and helped her climb from her car. “For what?”

“I drove instead of asking if you wanted to,” she said in a hurry.

Drake smiled as she shook his head. “It’s okay, Lacy-girl. I’m not so dominant that I have to drive all the time. Besides, it’s your car so I didn’t expect to drive.”

“Let’s go check in.” Drake kept their hands linked as they crossed the parking lot and entered the hotel lobby. He would have to check in with the three authors hosting his appearance, but right now he had a Little girl who needed his full attention.

There were several people in line ahead of them, so he did not comment when Lacy pulled her hand from his. When she stepped away, putting space between them, he laid a hand on her shoulder and looked into her startled gaze when she turned to look at him.

“No.”

“No?”

“Until the convention begins, you will not pretend we’re strangers when we’re in public. And even then, you will not. You’re my Little girl and you stay by my side.”

As she mulled over his words, the person in front of them in line moved away from the counter and they stepped forward.

“Good afternoon, how can I help you?” the clerk asked with a bright smile.

“Good afternoon. We each have a reservation, but we’d like connecting rooms, if possible,” Drake said, his voice pitched so that only the clerk could hear him.

“Certainly, sir,” the clerk said as she began typing into her computer. “The names on the reservations? And can I please see IDs and the credit cards that you want to be billed?”

Once they finished registering and receiving their keys and information on connecting to the internet, Drake led the way back to the parking lot. Just inside the front door, he snagged a rolling cart to carry all their bags.

When they reached the car, he looked at Lacy and tried to put a stern expression on his face, but it was difficult. He was just so damn happy to be with her again.

“Hold the cart while I move everything.”

“But I can help.”

“Little girls don’t carry heavy bags. Besides, with the slope on the parking lot, I need you to keep the cart from rolling away.”

He couldn’t help but grin when Lacy huffed her reluctant agreement. It only took him a couple minutes to pile everything on. He was careful to hang her camera bag and computer bag from the arm with hooks. Everything else went on the platform base.

Once he finished, he began to push the cart. “Anything else you need?”

Lacy nodded and went to the driver’s door. She pulled a cloth bag from under the seat and slung it over her shoulder. Then she hit the lock button and after making sure she had her keys in her pocket, she closed the door.

“Secured for the weekend. Or until we need to go somewhere,” she said with a smile as she skipped back to his side. “Let the weekend begin.”

He began to push the cart across the parking lot, already planning a quiet evening for his little girl in preparation for a busy, busy weekend that would start the next morning.
