Chapter 11
“I’ve changed my mind,” Drake said once they opened the door between their rooms and finished unloading the hotel cart. “We’re going to postpone your spanking until later.”
“We are?” Lacy asked, even as her pussy clenched with anticipation at what he might be planning instead. After all, it had been more than six months since they’d been together and just seeing him had her thinking of tearing off his clothes and climbing him like a tree.
“Yes, we are. After we take the cart back downstairs, we’re going to look around the hotel and grounds.
You can bring your camera and take shots of the hotel for the convention while we figure out where we’ll shoot tomorrow.
We can also check out where the signing and other events will take place and have dinner before we come back upstairs.
Then we’ll deal with your punishment, share a shower, and settle in for snuggles and a movie. ”
“Sounds like a plan, but we could just put off the spanking forever and it wouldn’t bother me.”
Drake smirked as he shook his head at her. She might be getting a short reprieve, but eventually her ass would have to pay the price for her earning a speeding ticket. When her stomach began to feel squirmy with guilty wiggly worms, she wondered if waiting was really the right thing to do.
Without another word, she unpacked her camera. After slinging the strap over one shoulder, she slipped her wallet, phone, and keycard into the pockets of her jeans.
Once she had everything she thought she would need, Lacy turned to Drake. “I’m ready.”
“Excuse me, who?”
“I’m ready, Daddy,” she corrected herself.
“Good girl,” he said, stepping up and giving her a big hug.
Lacy clung to him, pressing her cheek to his shoulder where she could hear his strong, steady heartbeat.
Taking a deep breath, she smiled at the scent of his spicy citrusy cologne.
It felt so good to be held, she wondered if they could skip right to the cuddles, even though she really did need to familiarize herself with the hotel’s layout and find a few places that would be good to shoot with the models in the morning.
“Come on, little girl. We’ve got to get out of here,” Drake finally said as his hold on her loosened.
“Don’t wanna,” she whined, tightening her arms around his middle.
A sharp smack to her left ass cheek had her lifting her head and pouting up at him. “Ouchie, Daddy.”
“Yes, and unless you want to go exploring around the hotel with a hot ass, you’ll let go so we can leave.”
With the biggest sigh she could give, Lacy stepped back. “That’s mean. I just wanted to hold you for a while longer.”
Drake took her hand and led the way out of the room and down the hall toward the elevators.
“I know. If I could, I’d hold you from now until I had to get back on the plane on Sunday.
But we have responsibilities that mean we can’t stand here for the next three days cuddling.
Besides, I’m getting hungry, and I’m sure you need to drink some water. ”
Lacy released another sigh. “Probably. I am a little thirsty.”
“Which means you probably need to drink a lot of water. I’ll have to keep an eye on you this weekend to make sure you’re drinking enough.”
Lacy pulled a face. “Water’s boring.”
Drake smiled at her as they stepped out of the elevator into the hall not too far from the lobby. “Maybe so, but you need to drink it. Now, where do you want to start?”
Lacy shrugged. While she’d been taking pictures for years, and actually selling them for the past few months, this was her first convention where she would have multiple models to work with and would need more than one background.
Using her room would be fine for the more risqué outfits and poses, but outside that, she wasn’t sure what she was looking for.
“I don’t know,” she whispered. “I’ve never done this before.”
“Then it’s a good thing I have, isn’t it?”
Lacy blinked and thought about it. Drake had been in the business for several years and had done dozens of shoots at conventions. “You’re right. You have. So, what kind of backgrounds should we be looking for?”
For the next hour they walked around the hotel several times, both inside the building and around the grounds. They found a half dozen spaces that would work well as backdrops.
Finally, Lacy’s stomach began to rumble loud enough that she blushed as she covered her belly with one hand, hoping to dim the sound. Drake gave her a concerned expression, then smiled gently.
“I think it’s time to feed your belly before it breaks out and eats me.”
“I’m sorry.”
That earned her a frown. “Why are you sorry? For getting hungry at dinnertime? There’s no reason to apologize. A grumbly tummy just tells me that it’s past time I feed you. Do you want to eat here in the restaurant, go out and find someplace to eat, or call for delivery?”
They had returned to the lobby and she looked over at the empty bar slash restaurant area just across the way. There was a man at the bar and two ladies sitting at a table.
“It would probably be faster if we just ate here,” she pointed out.
“Then that’s what we’ll do. Afterward, we’ll go upstairs and deal with the rest of the evening’s agenda.”
Though he would have preferred to have something delivered to their room, the nearly empty restaurant area would allow them to eat quickly. Then they could retire to their rooms and spend some quality alone time.
The other models and authors would begin arriving the next day, and the convention would start late in the afternoon.
They had the next eighteen hours alone and he planned to take full advantage of them.
He also needed to make sure his little girl got enough rest to get her through the convention.
During one of their discussions about vacations and meeting somewhere between their two homes, she admitted that she did not sleep well in strange beds.
She then went on to tell him that she did not sleep all that well at home either.
Her brain was too busy, always thinking and making plans and worrying about all sorts of things she really should not be worrying about.
After dinner, he planned to help her release the worries and not think about anything but being Little. Looking over the menu, he quickly chose his meal then put down his menu and watch Lacy as she looked over the menu three times, growing more anxious with each reading.
“Do you want Daddy to choose something?” He reached across the table and laid his hand over the one that was tracing lines on the menu.
She looked up with wide eyes and nodded. “Please?”
“Anything you don’t like?”
“Green vegetables and melon.”
“How about getting the grilled chicken salad?”
Her face scrunched up and she whispered, “It has lettuce.”
“So we’ll get it without lettuce.”
“You can do that?”
He smiled at her innocence. She really had not done much traveling. “Lacy-girl, it’s your salad, you should be able to get it the way you want it.”
That had her blinking as she thought about his words. “Okay, yes, that works.”
When the waitress arrived a few minutes later, Drake ordered the grilled chicken salad sans lettuce, which had the woman smiling at Lacy.
“I don’t like lettuce either,” she said as she wrote down the order. “And for you, sir?”
“I’d like the club sandwich with a side of the fruit salad and two glasses of water, please.”
A moment later, she was heading to the kitchen and they were alone again. At least for a few minutes.
“You’re Drake Snow.” An older woman approached, but stood several feet away, as if afraid to move any closer.
“Yes, I am,” he said with a smile. “Are you here for the convention?”
The woman nodded. “Yes, I am. But I see you’re having dinner, so I’ll go away. I just wanted to say I love you, and I think I’ve got every book you’ve ever been on.”
Drake smiled and stood. “Thank you so much. Would you like a hug before you go?”
The woman agreed to a hug and a selfie to prove to her friends back home that she’d actually met the cover model they all loved.
Once she wandered away, Drake sat down and looked at Lacy.
The woman was smiling, but it wasn’t the smile that he was used to seeing.
This was her polite public smile, very similar to the one he would be wearing during most of the next few days. The one that did not reach his eyes.
“You okay?” he asked gently.
“Uh-huh. I just forget sometimes that you’re not here just for me, but for all the women. I was just hoping I wouldn’t have to share you for a little while longer.”
That comment had Drake wishing for the same thing. But the only way to do that would be to retreat upstairs to the privacy of their rooms.
“Stay right here,” he said as he rose and walked away from the table.
It took just a moment to find their waitress and change their order.
He also instructed her to bill their meals to his room.
Their food was just being fixed, so she quickly managed the change and a few minutes later he had their food in a plastic bag with plenty of ketchup packets and plasticware to eat with.
The waitress even added a couple of bottles of water since she had not delivered their drinks yet.
Taking the bag of food, he returned to the table and held out his free hand. “Let’s go.”
He was surprised when Lacy didn’t ask questions. Instead, she pushed out her chair, took his hand and walked with him to the bank of elevators. She used her free hand to push the call button as she bounced on her toes.
They did not speak until they were safe in their rooms with the doors secured for the night.
“Now, little girl, I want you to change into your Little pajamas and strip away all those Big thoughts and worries. From now until tomorrow morning Daddy is in charge.”
Lacy blinked, then nodded slowly. “Okay, Daddy.”
“Or would you like Daddy to help you get changed?”
“I can do it,” she whispered in a slightly higher tone.
He could almost see her shifting gears and sliding into her Little persona as she crossed the room to where her suitcase lay on the floor by the dresser.
“I’ll be next door changing. Come over when you’re ready and we’ll have dinner.”
“Okay, Daddy,” she said, sounding young and nervous and distracted all at once. After pulling out what looked like a set of bright-yellow pajamas, she looked over her shoulder at him.
“Good girl,” he said before stepping through the open doorway between their rooms, leaving her to change on her own.
