Him
Iknew what was going on and I had to make sure to play along. It wouldn’t be wrong to say what I did there was the most selfish thing ever. But that was the only way to understand whatever was going on in her head. The pain in her lifeless eyes when I encouraged him to shoot her was enough of proof what effect my words still have on her subconscious.
She is lost. She needs to be found. She can be saved. She’s not dead.
The way my heart rejoiced seeing agony fill her features before she safely hid it beneath the sheet of hatred. A part of me wanted to scream in relief, while another wanted to rip the sick bastard apart for aiming the fucking gun at her.
But... I had to stick to the plan.
Divit and Rayan are here. Which also means that it’s time for the others to take positions.
Divit’s idea about getting caught has turned out brilliantly and they have indeed been brought straight to us. Although, we still can’t act before Mira calls out for it. Till then we stick together and let the others take care of the rest.
I crack my knuckles before getting up, walking towards her, eyeing her up and down even when I know how vulnerable that must make her feel. But it’s necessary to look out of love. Ruthless. Brutal.
“You’re indeed so much like me. What made you think you could bring in company without my knowledge... or did you assume I’d be stupid enough to not think twice about your sudden truce. Now listen up young man, because you’ll need to learn this lesson once and for all. Only one of them survives... and I’m only capable of asking this once. Whose life are you going to spare. Are you going to choose your friends or is it going to be this girl over them?”
He’s almost certain I’ll choose them over her and I’m on the verge of snapping out at him for thinking my muffin’s not worth it.
“Honestly, if I were you... I’d choose my bratva over any woman and not think twice.”
“Except my mother that is... Or is it not?” I squint.
The instant change in his demeanor is almost as smooth as it can be; from smiling like the wicked vicious self that he is to a clearly visible tension in his veins.
The way his teeth grit under the pressure of keeping his anger in control is so darn appetizing. Its soothing to the eye.
“She’s nothing like your mother... and don’t you dare compare them ever again. Besides you exhausted your only chance to speak. Now they all will –”
“No – wait...” I retort, “Let me at least complete what I want to say. I’ve made my choice, father. I apologize for bringing Mom into this...”
Because if I don’t, this pig might actually not think twice before pulling the trigger. And that I cannot afford.
She’s afraid and this time it is because of the mask that I am forced to wear to ensure we exit safely and nothing is left behind to mourn at the very least.
I force down the need to make her at ease, holding her chin to make sure she looks straight into my eyes, “She’s only good for one thing, and that’s exactly what she’ll get. In fact, you were right about her not being worth it. Now when I have a choice, I can see more clearly; I would always choose my brothers over her. Even if it’s a brother from another mother...”
He turns his murderous gaze towards me, his face paling a little more like rubbing a soothing gel over my wounds.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” His tone grave and full of unspoken warnings.
“Excuse me, Father. But I think we better discuss family matters in private... Guys, why don’t you take our play thing away for a while. But make sure to wait for me. I have matters to clear before any of us have our way with her.”
I know how bad that is making her shiver, but before anything I need to make sure she is seen by the camera’s being taken away by force. Having full knowledge of his bad habit of live telecasting is such a useful tool.
Disha needs to be seen as a victim; we had planned it before activating the first steps of our plan.
“I need to talk to dear father. Some extremely urgent family business.” I wink in his direction earning an instant scowl.
When they drag her out of the place, I return my attention to him who is already eyeing my every movement, every expression. And it pulls out a sardonic laughter from my chest.
“You’re bluffing Naksh. You’re my only child, you know it.”
“Five more minutes, Naksh.” Mira’s whispers in my earpiece.
Enough time to build everything up in my chest. My mind will autoplay every one of those torturous videos along with the memories of my own past with him as soon as the deadline ends. I’m ready for the mess I would want to create soon after.
“You know I always thought you were abusing me for fun. But when I came to know about the real reason why you wanted me so bad – to join you – I felt pity. So much pity, father. I mean look at you... a man like you could have impregnated so many women by now. Why would you rely on one child only?”
His face muscles tense, “What is that language, Naksh... have you forgotten who you’re talking to?”
“I’m sorry father, but I had to take the pain to go through each one of your affairs. Which of course were none. Since you love my mother so much. But that shouldn’t mean that you’ve never had someone in your life – before her.”
My pause is making him impatient.
“What are you trying to imply. Tell me before my patience ends, Naksh. It wouldn’t end well for any of us.”
I might keep wanting to walk in circles if that makes his heart race pick up. It is refreshing to have an edge over the man that has had an edge over me all my fucking life.
I pause some more before uttering only four words and a name that makes blood drain from his face.
“Aleksander... I know about him.”
