CHAPTER THIRTY #2

“The things I would do for you,” I whisper while kissing her forehead.

I follow through with the plan. It’s so funny to think that a month or so ago, we wanted nothing to do with each other.

And now? I bite my lip as my head swarms with thoughts of Bianca, and I lock the car before making my way back to her house.

On the way, there’s a patch of small daisies growing along the sidewalk, and I smile at the memories I’ve had with these flowers.

Picking one, I continue my way back home.

Home to her.

“Hi,” she says, color flushing her skin, and mine heats up as well. She smiles at me, and I hop onto the ledge, my heart speeding up more than usual.

This girl is gonna be the death of me.

I tuck the daisy behind her ear and rub her cheekbone. “You know, a guy usually doesn’t go into a girl’s room until later on.”

Getting closer, she wraps her hand around my tie, pulling me in, and I bite my lip at her cheekiness.

“It’s later on.”

Bianca

He crashes his lips on mine and I revel in the way his mouth moves.

“Damn, beautiful,” he whispers, and I press myself closer to him.

He traces his hands down my body and he tugs my thigh slightly.

I have no idea what he wants, so I lift it and he grabs hold.

Then he moves his free hand to my other thigh, and I raise that too.

He picks me up, a surprised sound leaving me .

I wrap my legs around him. His hands become locked under me so as not to break the kiss.

He turns us around as one of his hands drops from my body, looking for something.

He finds it, and I briefly hear the window click and lock in place, and I smile at him.

His large hand then runs up my back and I sigh at the feeling.

He pulls back and we breathe in unison. He flashes his pearly whites at me as his eyes gaze deep into mine.

“Freckles, you’re amazing,” he mumbles, and I can’t help but smile.

“I know, right?”

He rolls his eyes and carries me as he looks around my room, and I let him snoop.

His fingers run against the spines of my books before he freezes when he gets to my Polaroid photo wall.

At that, he gently puts me down. Something like a small chuckle comes out of him and I recognize the picture he picks up. One that I recently put up.

He turns around with the picture in his hand. “You still have this?” he asks, his voice tight with emotion, and I nod at the question. Grinning as he chuckles lowly, rubbing a thumb along the picture, he pulls me closer to him.

“I put them up recently, something was missing without you.”

He blushes slightly, kissing me on the cheek. “You were and are so beautiful.” My heart skips a beat at the compliment and a blush comes to my cheeks. He laughs before I shush him. “Sorry, it’s so cute when you blush.”

“Shut up,” I mutter, and he kisses me on the cheek, nuzzling my neck after.

Warm in his embrace, I stifle a yawn, but he feels it anyway.

“Let’s get you to bed.” Nodding, another yawn makes its way from my throat as I stretch.

My fingers link with Liam’s as I guide him to the bed before he stops us.

He wears a shy expression. “I’ll sleep on the floor.

Let me freshen up. You go to bed, you’re tired.

” His voice sounds sweet, but I refuse, shaking my head.

“Liam, we’ve slept in the same bed before.”

“That was back then. And it’s been years. Besides, what if Ms. Kate comes in?”

I look at him, crossing my arms, and he sighs while running a hand down his face. “Yeah, it’s somewhat different, but it’s okay. I don’t mind. I’ll lock my door, you sneak out in the morning, and no one will know.”

He clears his throat and looks down before mumbling, “Hm, so I’m your dirty little secret now.” There’s a hint of uncertainty in the words and I shake my head again, giving him a reassuring smile.

“One that I will shout from the rooftops when we both feel it’s the right time. But for right now, you’re all mine,” I say, and he smiles.

“All yours, Freckles.” He wraps his arms around me, molding our bodies together, our noses rubbing.

“And you’re all mine, right?” He asks it almost as if he believes this is a figment of his imagination.

After a quick kiss, his expression changes to one of pure happiness, and I hug him harder.

He walks in the direction of my en suite before turning back and kissing me senseless.

He smiles before actually heading to the bathroom, leaving me panting.

My brain starts running a mile a minute and I realize what’s all gone down.

We kissed.

Liam and I kissed!

He’s staying in my room . . .

I giggle at my thoughts, and even though that voice—that malicious voice that makes me overthink—wants to break free, I keep it at bay. I’m not letting it ruin this moment.

I just hope this isn’t only a moment.

The bed dips and I turn around and gasp.

Liam’s lying there, shirtless with boxer shorts on, his tattoos all on display.

I look at him and he glances back sheepishly.

“There was a pack of extra toothbrushes, I used one. I also realized I don’t have any clothes with me, and the ones I had aren’t comfortable to sleep in.

I mean, I have some back home . . .” He must realize how that sounds, so he shakes his head.

“If you want me to drive there and back, I can. I want you to be more than comfortable, and don’t worry, I’ll stay on my side.

” He makes good on his promise as he scoots as far as he physically can away from me, and I whimper at the loss of warmth.

This man truly doesn’t understand that I trust him more than myself.

Scooting closer to him, I wrap an arm around his waist, burying my head in his neck.

“Freck—”

I mumble, “Good night, Liam.” His otherwise tense body loosens and he wraps his arms around me. I sigh in contentment.

“Sweet dreams, Freckles,” he whispers, followed by a kiss on my forehead. And with that, I pass out, having the best sleep of my life.
