Chapter 29 Taking Back My Heart

On the third day living at Lanxi’s house.

The sky had just begun to brighten when a phone call woke me.

I answered groggily. “Hello? Who is this?”

“It’s me.”

The voice sounded familiar. Then I remembered—it was Shen Yizheng.

“What do you want?”

“You left some things here. When are you coming to get them?”

I held my forehead. “Just throw them away.”

Shen Yizheng’s temper instantly flared. “I’m not a garbage collector. If you want to throw them, do it yourself.”

I stayed silent.

“I’ll come get them at noon today.”

“Fine.”

After that, I hung up and went back to sleep.

I have a strong sense of time. At exactly twelve noon, I knocked on Shen Yizheng’s door.

The moment I knocked once, he opened it.

He stepped aside and let me into the living room.

“What did I leave behind? Give it to me.”

With a loud “bang,” Shen Yizheng slammed the door shut.

I turned to look at him. “Speak.”

He was wearing brown loungewear, his hair falling softly over his forehead.

“You left my heart behind.”

I frowned. What kind of cheesy pickup line was that?

“Stop messing around. Give me my stuff.” I urged, confused.

“These past few days, I’ve missed you a lot.”

This didn’t sound like something Shen Yizheng would say at all.

“Are you possessed? Shouldn’t you be missing Lanxi?” I quickly realized. “Is it that once someone becomes your ex, you start missing them?”

Shen Yizheng stayed silent.

Seeing that he wouldn’t speak, I turned to leave.

He blocked the door, refusing to let me go.

“What exactly do you want?” I lost my patience.

Shen Yizheng moved his lips, about to say something, when my phone vibrated.

It was a call from Lanxi.

Afraid she would worry, I answered.
