Chapter 30 The Last Straw

“Hello.”

“Where are you?” Lanxi asked.

“It’s nothing. I’ll tell you when I get back.”

“Okay.”

After a few short sentences, I hung up.

I turned back to face Shen Yizheng.

“You found your next home already?”

Shen Yizheng deliberately made the words sound crude.

“None of your business.” My voice was low. “Move. I’m going home.”

Shen Yizheng refused to budge, blocking the door completely.

“Who is it?”

Without warning, he grabbed my collar. “No wonder you suddenly wanted to break up with me.”

“Let go of me.” I scratched his arm until it bled.

The pain seemed to snap him back. He suddenly released me.

“Baoying, I was wrong.” Shen Yizheng’s eyes began to redden. “Give me one more chance. Please don’t fall for anyone else.”

“I swear, if we get back together this time, I’ll treat you well.”

Shen Yizheng continued desperately, “I promise I will never mention the name Lanxi in front of you again.”

See? He actually knew it would hurt me.

But he kept hurting me anyway.

I wanted to laugh but couldn’t.

“You knew it would break my heart. Why did you still do it?”

“I… I just…”

Shen Yizheng never finished the sentence.
