“Will you ever leave that door?” Don asked, his head fixed to his laptop.

But I didn't heed and just stayed in the position, folded arms, leaning against the door that connects both our offices.

“Why didn't you tell me you've known June for fifteen years?” I furrowed my brows to express my displeasure at that face.

He still didn't raise his head from that laptop. “You never asked.”

That made me scoff. “You're so annoying.”

His gaze finally lifted to me with a smile playing on his lips, “Okay, what do you want to know?”

“A lot, like how you two met and how long you've dated.”

“Why are you suddenly curious to know that?” He asked with a raised brow, gesturing to the seat beside his chair. “Come sit here.”

Hesitantly, I shambled to sit where he told me to.

Once beside him, his arms wrapped around my waist which I didn't protest to.

“Yesterday, when you'd gone to work she started saying bullshits like how she's going to have you and I must leave you alone. It's annoying.”

His brows were pulled together in a frown before his expression changed to a sweet smile. “That's annoying for you, I understand. I'll make sure it doesn't happen again, but why do you want to know how we met.”

“We're married, there should be no secrets between us so tell me everything.”

“Yes boss.” He joked, earning a playful glare from me.

“Well, June and I have been friends since I was eleven. She was my best friend,” the sound of it made me cringe.

“We used to do everything together, she knew lots of my secrets. Even some that she shouldn't know.” A shadow appeared on his face for just a second, but was gone.

“We were so close, our parents used to joke that we'd get married in the future. I was even closer to her than I was to Darien. But then when I turned eighteen, her father, Rhys, who is the CEO of the Silvers international realized that it would be great to both stocks if we could work together.

“So they arranged a marriage for the both of us and things changed afterwards.”

I had never been so interested in something like I was today. “How?”

“It got into June's head and she started having feelings for me, she told me but then I didn't feel that way and our friendship just ruined. Every time we were together, she'd always talk about the wedding or how much she loves me and that just made us drift apart.

“I no longer liked the way she was so much in love with me and I kept on letting her know I couldn't feel the same way and we should just keep on being friends but then her obsessiveness worsened and I just couldn't take it anymore.

“She made me feel a tiny bit of resentment towards her when I was twenty one and she came to where I was having fun with my colleagues. She was drunk, knelt down and was pleading with me to love her back.

“To be truthful, I was surprised she'd ran away from the wedding, I thought she was going to live the rest of her life in a loveless marriage, but I'm happy she didn't.” He tightened his grip on my waist, planting a peck on my forehead.

“Wow, it's like a movie.” I was awed. “So she's venting her pain of being rejected on me.”

“Don't worry, I promise to not let her threaten you again. Trust me, she only ever threatens, she's not one to put her words to action.”

“Still, I don't feel comfortable with her presence, you should not let her come over, okay?”

I stared at those dark blue eyes as he leaned in to give me a peck on the lips. “Okay, I'll fully end a fifteen year relationship because of you, my love.”

Him being sweet made my heart flutter and made me love him so much more than I already did.

A knock came from the door.

“Come in.” I'd expected him to let go of me but he didn't.

“Let me go.” I whispered but he refused to heed, just staring at the opening door.

I was relieved when Hane walked in.

She stared between us in awkwardness, before turning to leave. “I'll come back later.” She was about to leave.

“No, you two can talk.” He finally let go of my waist.

I stood up from the chair and we both ambled into my office.

“You two are so cute together.” She said teasingly, making me blush.

“Thank you.”

“I saw June when she came yesterday, are you sure she's not going to cause a rift between you two.” Her tone was laced with genuine concern.

I smiled at that. “There's no reason for worry. Don told me she's a girl of words but no action.” When I chuckled, she did the same. “He's going to stop her from coming to our house.”

“That's good, I like you two relationship and don't want anyone coming as a problem.”

I placed a hand on her shoulder. “Thanks for the concern.”

“Whatever,” she seemed to remember why she came, “well, I thought you'll be tired of working and wanted to know if we could go have fresh air but I can see you're in love with working.”

I rolled my eyes. “Maybe you can tag along with Dina and I for lunch today.”

Her smile widened. “Really? That'll be great.”

As we left together, my mind wandered to June.

Hopefully what Don said would be true and June is just a girl of words and no action, not that I'm afraid of her threats, I'm just being cautious.
