-Rose Dern-

Just like ever other morning whenever I was in front of this door, I smoothened my hair and skirt, before inserting my card into the hole, causing the door to unlock.

Slowly, I pushed the door open, ignoring the fact my heart was racing faster than it should.

That was something that always happened in his presence.

When I walked in, I closed the door behind to, turning to see Daruen where he sat on his desk.

He raised his head from the laptop, a smile that made my heart flutter playing on his lips.

"Good morning Darien." I quickly greeted, offering a small bow before heading straight to my office.

"Good morning." His voice- as always- sent shivers down my spine.

Since that wasn't something that needed replying, I just took to still heading to my office.

But just when I was about to open the door, he spoke. "You look beautiful."

That made me stop walking to turn to him, the color rising to my feet.

Hopefully my hair would cover that.

"Thank you."

Oh my, I had to hope was smile wasn't stupid.

To avoid embarrassing myself, I entered the office, closing the door behind me, then went straight to my seat, where I buried my head in my hand.

Gosh Rose, why on earth can't you control yourself in the presence of this handsome guy?

You've dated different men so why is this one so different.

What on earth is up with you? Will you ever stop blushing at every word he says?

That was exactly how I embarrassed myself at Don's place when his family were around.

Instead of saying I kept it from them, I had to use him.

Him!

A low groan left my lips as I dropped my hands, hoping it hadn't ruined my hair.

"Rose, please come to my office." That voice that always made me nervous spoke through the intercom.

Okay now Rose, don't forget he's human just like you so don't embarrass yourself.

Those words were enough to make me stand up, sauntering out of the office to his.

He was still sitting where he had been, head buried to the laptop.

When I walked towards his desk, he raised his head to me. "Oh good, there's this paperwork I need you to complete."

No matter how much feelings I had for this guy, whenever it came to work, I made sure to do it with everything in me.

So, I walked over the table, standing beside him where there was a pile of paper in front of him.

"So, as you can see here," he pointed to some writing on one of the papers, which I leaned closer to check, "it needs re-editing."

"Hmm." I noticed that he was pointing the the ones highlighted in red.

"This has to be checked up on." He pointed to the green marks.

"Okay." Then I turned to the ones with yellow markings, deciding to read through the problem when...

It was then that I realized how close we actually were, that my nose caught a whiff of his cologne.

Oh, but that wasn't what stopped my heart from beating.

His gaze.

I could feel it directed to me. He was literally staring at me.

But no way did I dare return it.

Instead, I just pretended to be so focused on whatever was on the paper I could no longer see.

But he didn't move, and it felt like his gaze was searing holes through my head.

Don't turn Rose. Don't look at him.

But it felt like he wanted me to turn.

When I wasn't sure I could take it anymore, I finally tilted my head sideways.

And immediately regretted it when he held my gaze, seizing my breath.

Believe me when I say I had totally forgotten how to breathe.

My heart was twisting and turning.

Oh but it hadn't twisted finished.

Because, like a dream, he leaned closer, planting a peck on my lips.

It didn't last a second but felt like a lifetime thing.

My feet stayed glued to the ground out of shock, as he just stared at me, probably trying to read my reaction to that unexpected kiss.

I wasn't sure what he interpreted my shock to mean, because he apologized. "Uh- sorry." then turned back to the papers.

Obviously I was supposed to do something.

Maybe tell him it was okay, or just smile. Or maybe even- it wasn't a bad idea to kiss him back.

But I might have to start with shutting my widened eyes.

Gosh, I must look stupid.

I was literally unmovable.

Gathering all the strength in me, I pulled all the papers from the desk.

"I'll work on them in my office." Then scurried out of sight to my office.

Wait, what just happened?

He had just pecked me.

He'd pecked me?

And my reaction... rather than letting things get deeper, I stupidly ran away.

My hand ran through my hair in annoyance.

Because yeah, I was so frustrating.

The clock read time to leave work.

But how could I find myself doing that when I hadn't even left the office since the incident.

This was certainly not going to be the least embarrassing time for me.

All I'd done all day was hide like the chicken I was.

At least he hadn't tried forcing me out, because after the peck, he hadn't called me to do anything.

I gently opened the door, happy it didn't make much noise.

Maybe I could actually successfully leave without him noticing.

But of course, tiptoeing out was unfortunately not a smart idea.

"You're leaving already?" He asked, not sounding like anything happened this morning.

Stopping, I turned to him with heart racing seventeen times faster. "Y-Yes."

"Okay." He closed his laptop, standing up.

I didn't mean to, but my eyes widened in surprise. "You're coming too?"

"Yes, I want to drop you home." He sounded so nonchalant as he headed towards me with such a handsome smile.

"Drop me home? Why? I have a driver who can do that." My voice was speaking just at the same rate my heart was beating.

His face fell a little. "So you don't want me to drop you home?"

That made me consider it actually.

Sitting in the same car with him.

Able to stare at his handsome figure.

The kiss...

A kiss...

"I-I don't mind."

With that, he covered my hand in his huge own.

That action didn't do any good in calming my racing heart, but I didn't object.

We both walked out of the company with intertwined fingers, only drawing attention from almost every worker.

When we reached his car, he opened the passenger seat for me, surprising me enough to ask, "You're driving?"

With a lop-sided smile, he nodded. "Yes."

He closed the door as soon as I was in, walking over to the driver seat, then started the engine and soon, we were on the road.

This all felt so weird. Me in the car of a guy I've secretly crushed on. Hopefully it's secretly.

After a few minute of driving in silence, he broke it. "You're the quiet type."

Only when he's around. His presence makes my stomach do a little jump-jump.

"Not really." I turned to the window although I didn't care about what I was seeing, his presence was killing me.

"You're very beautiful, do you know that?" Gosh, this guy would make me turn fully pink in no time.

"I guess."

Just then, my house came to view, sending a pinch of sadness to think of our ride being over.

Hesitantly though, I undid my seat belt, getting out.

But to my surprise, he did the same thing.

"Thanks for the ride." I smiled.

Instead of replying, he ambled towards me.

Just that action sent my heart into another marathon.

Seriously, at this rate, I might probably soon have a heart attack.

Especially when his arm wrapped around my waist and he covered the space between us, pressing his lips against mine.

I was too surprised to respond to the electrifying kiss at first, but I did.

And our tongues moved together, expressing how much we'd desire for this

It did wonders to my body as he deepened it, stealing the breath from me.

Oh my, I loved this moment.

He pulled apart so we could both catch our breaths, while I stared up at him in surprise.

"Bye," his fingers brushed my ear before leaving my hair and face, "see you at work tomorrow."

I didn't reply.

No, I couldn't even say a word.

My feet were glued in surprise.

Especially when he went back to the car, starting it and zooming off.

What just happened?
