Two years later,
Advik is 3 years old.
It is an early morning in the Rajvansh mansion. A cute little family is snuggled together in sleep. Ruhanika is sleeping in the middle if the bed with Shivansh and Advik snuggling into her from either sides.
Ruhanika woke up lazily to the ringing of her alarm. She turned off the alarm and turned towards Shivansh.
Ruhanika,'Aaj yeh abhi tak so rahe hai?'
(He is sleeping till now today?)
Ruhanika gently ran her fingers in his hair and spoke,"Shiv, good morning. Uthiye bhi."
(Shiv, good morning. Wake up.)
Shivansh,"Hmm....sone do Ruhh...."
(Hmm....let me sleep Ruhh...)
Ruhanika,"Shiv, 6:30 baj gaye? Aap aaj gym bhi nahi gaye."
(Shiv, it's 6:30. You didn't go to gym today?)
Shivansh lazily opened his eyes and spoke,"Achha nahi lag raha Ruhh."
(I am not feeling well Ruhh.)
Ruhanika kept her hand on his forehead and spoke,"Aapko toh bukhar hai Shiv. Hey Mahadev...."
(You have fever Shiv. Oh God...)
Ruhanika quickly got off the bed and brought the thermometer to check his fever.
Ruhanika,"Shiv, 102°F bukhaar hai aapko toh."
(Shiv, you have 102°F fever.)
Shivansh just hummed at her and continued sleeping.
Ruhanika was going towards the door to go downstairs when she heard crying of Advik. She quickly went to him.
Ruhanika,"Kya hua Babu? Kyu ro raha hai mera Babu?"
(What happened Babu? Why is my Babu crying?)
Advik,"Mummaaa....." With that, he started hitting his little legs on the bed with force.
Ruhanika held his legs down and asked,"Babu kya hua?" She felt his body was warm as well.
(Babu what happened?)
Advik,"Mumma, pail dukth lahe hai."
(Mumma, legs are paining.)
Ruhanika,"Shhh, rote nahi hai beta. Abhi thik ho jaayega. Mumma hai na."
(Shhh, don't cry baby. It will be okay. Mumma is here.)
Then she checked his fever as well which was just a little above 100°F.
Ruhanika,"Babu, dekho thoda sa bukhaar hai aapko. Rote nahi hai. Rone se aur tabiyaat khaarb ho jaayegi. Shhh, Mera achha bachha hai Advik, rote nahi."
(Babu, see, you have a bit of fever. Don't cry. Crying will affect your health. Shhh, my good boy Advik, don't cry.)
With Ruhanika's consolation, Advik's cries subsided to quite sobs.
Ruhanika,"Good boy. Achha Babu, dekho Papa ko bohot tez bukhaar hai, toh aap baitho inke pass, mumma 2 minute mein aayi. Okay? Rakhoge 2 minute Papa ka dhyaan?"
(Good boy. Okay Babu, see, papa has high fever, so you sit here with him, mumma will be back in 2 minutes. Okay? Will you be with Papa for 2 minutes.)
Advik,"Papa, bimaar? Mumma, main dhyaan rakhunga, aap go."
(Papa, sick? Mumma, I am here, you go.)
Ruhanika kissed his forehead and left for downstairs.
In the kitchen,
Ruhanika quickly made coffee for her and Shivansh and made Advik's milk. She then placed all of it on a try with a bowl of ice water and a cotton cloth.
She came back in the room to find Advik lightly patting Shivansh's head.
Ruhanika kept the tray on the side table and smiled at Advik. She settled on the bed beside Shivansh and took Advik in her lap. She handed him the glass of milk.
Ruhanika,"Babu, chalo dudhu pilo."
(Babu, drink your milk.)
Advik climbed off Ruhanika's lap and sat on the bed and spoke,"Mumma pail dukth late hai....nai pinaa."
(Mumma, legs are paining, I don't want to drink.)
Ruhanika,"Abhi thik kar dungi beta, do minutes."
(I will make it okay now, 2 minutes baby.)
Then she turned to Shivansh and caressed his hair and woke him up.
Ruhanika,"Shiv, uthiye na. Dekhiye aapki coffee leke aayi hu. Pi lijiye thik lagega. Uthiye na. Dekhiye Babu bhi bimaar hai."
(Shiv, wake up. I have got your coffee. Have it. You will feel good. Wake up. Babu is also sick.)
After hearing that Advik is also sick, Shivansh woke up instantly.
Shivansh, still a bit groggy due to fever spoke,"Ruhh, kya hua use?"
(Ruhh, what happened to him?)
Ruhanika handed him his coffee and replied,"Thoda sa bukhar hai. Aap coffee aur dawai le lijiye, phir main thande pani ki patti kar dungi."
(A bit of fever. You have coffee and medicine, then I will do cold compress.)
Shivansh,"Hmm."
With Shivansh having his coffee, Ruhanika turned to Advik.
Ruhanika,"Babu, chalo dudhu pilo. Phir mumma pair daba degi toh thik ho jaayega."
(Babu, have your milk. Then mumma will massage your legs, so it will be okay.)
Advik, cranky due to fever, clunged to Ruhanika and spoke,"Naiiiii, mummaaaaa."
(Nooooo, mummaaaaa.)
Ruhanika gently held him and brought the glass of milk to his mouth and made him drink it. She then cleaned his mouth and spoke,"Very good boy."
Shivansh having drank his coffee turned to Ruhanika and keeping his head on her shoulder spoke,"Ruhh...."
Ruhanika,"Shiv, waha dawai rakhi hai, le lijiye na."
(Shiv, I have kept the medicines there, have it.)
Advik,"Mummaaa...:
Ruhanika,"Ha Babu, mumma yahi hai." With that, she started massaging his legs to give him relief.
(Yes Babu, mumma is here only.)
Shivansh,"Mujhe nahi khani dawai Ruhh. Rehne do."
(I don't want medicine Ruhh. Leave it.)
Ruhanika,"Shiv, yeh kya baat hai. Dawai le lijiye varna....."
(Shiv, what is this. Have medicine or else....)
Shivansh royally ignored her and laid on the bed comfortably.
Ruhanika,"Shiv-"
She was cut off by Advik's loud cry,"Mummaaa...."
Ruhanika,"Ha Babu, rote nahi hai....shhh.."
(Yes Babu, don't cry....shhh...)
Then turning to Shivansh, she spoke,"Shiv, dawai le lijiye varna mujhse bura koi nahi hoga. Advik ro raha hai aur aapko nakhre karne hai."
(Shiv, have the medicine or I won't spare you. Advik is crying and you are showing tantrums.)
Shivansh,"Ha toh. Usse zyada bimaar mai hu."
(So what. I am more sick than him.)
Ruhanika,"Shiv, aap 3 saal k bacche se compare karenge? Thik hai, mat lijiye dawai. Par mujhe thande pani ki patti karne denge?"
(Shiv, you are comparing with a 3 year old kid? Fine, don't take medicines. Will you let me do cold compress?)
Shivansh,"Hmm.."
Ruhanika placed the wet cloth on Shivansh's head, while still giving attention to Advik, so he doesn't cry out.
Ruhanika continued doing her task and soon both father and son dosed off.
Not disturbing both of them, Ruhanika got up to have a bath. After getting ready, Ruhanika went downstairs.
In the kitchen the chef was making breakfast, when Ruhanika entered. She decided to make khichdi (rice and lentil porridge) for both the sick babies.
When she had just kept the cooker on the gas for the khichdi to cook, Parinidhi entered.
Parinidhi,"Bhabhi, khichdi kyun?"
(Bhabhi, why khichdi?)
Ruhanika,"Shiv aur Advik dono bimaar hai."
(Shiv and Advik are sick.)
Parinidhi,"Dono? Achanak Bhabhi."
(Both? Overnight?)
Ruhanika,"Advik ko shayad thakan ki wajah se bhukhaar aaya hai, uske pair bhi dukh rahe hai aur Shiv ko bhi shyad excertion ki wajah se hi aaya hoga bukhaar, kal office se aane k baad, dono baap bete terrace pe khel rahe the. Advik ko sona nhi tha, toh Shiv ko bhi sone nahi de raha tha aur apne sath khelne ko keh raha tha."
(Advik is sick due to excertion, his legs are also paining. And Shiv is also sick due to excertion only, last night both were playing on the terrace. Advik was not I the mood to sleep and so he was not letting Shiv also sleep and made him play with him.)
Parinidhi nodded her head, and just then Kartik came running into the kitchen.
Kartik,"Gud Mornin Mumma. Gud Mornin Bai Mumma."
Parinidhi picked him up in her arms and spoke,"Good Morning mera Kittu."
Ruhanika kissed his cheek and spoke,"Good Morning Laddu."
Kartik,"Bai mumma, Adu kaha hai?"
(Badi mumma, where is Adu?)
Ruhanika,"Beta, usse aur tumhare Bade Papa ko bukhaar hai toh woh dono so rahe hai."
(Baby, he and your Bade Papa have fever so they are sleeping.)
Kartik,"Bukhaar hai? Main unse milu?"
(Fever? Can I meet them?)
Parinidhi,"Beta, woh abhi so rahe hai. Unhe aaram karne do. Tu school se aayega na toh mil lena."
(Baby, they are sleeping. Let them have rest. Meet them when you come from school.)
Kartik nodded his head and ran out to his dad.
While khichdi was cooking, Ruhanika had her breakfast.
As the khichdi was ready, Ruhanika placed it in a hotpot and took it to the room.
In the room.
Ruhanika,"Shiv, Advik, uthiye. Khana kha lijiye, achha lagega."
(Shiv, Advik, wake up. Have food, you'll feel good.)
Ruhanika kept the tray on the table and went to the bed. Shivansh was sleeping soundly whereas Advik was sprawled on the bed, covering rest of the space.
Ruhanika shook Shivansh first to wake him up. When he woke up, Ruhanika sent him to freshen up.
Then Ruhanika woke up Advik and took him to freshen up when Shivansh returned.
After freshening up, both he father son duo was sitting on the bed, with a sulking face.
Ruhanika sat in front of them with a plate in her hand with khichdi on it.
Shivansh,"Ruhh, yaar, khichdi nahi khani hai."
(Ruhh, I don't wanna eat khichdi.)
Advik,"Ha mumma. Mujhe cheese wala palatha bana do na."
(Yes mumma. Make me a cheese paratha.)
Ruhanika,"Aap dono bimaar hai. Chup chaap khichdi khaiye varna hospital jaana padega."
(You both are sick. Quietly eat the khichdi otherwise you will have to go to hospital.)
Shivansh,"Ruhh, yeh bachha hai, main thodi hu. Mujhe pata hai koi hospital nahi jaana padega. Kuch achha la do na, waise hi muh ka swaad achha nahi hai bukhaar ki wajah se."
(Ruhh, he is a kid, I am not. I know there I no need of hospital. Make something nice na, anyways the mouth tastes bad due to fever.)
Ruhanika did not reply anything just held the spoon at Shivansh's mouth with a stern look.
Shivansh not left with any choice ate the bite. Like this Ruhanika fed both of them.
Then came the big task, feeding the medicines to the both of them.
Ruhanika,"Shiv, mujhe kuch nahi sunna. Dawai le lijiye warna main aapse baat nahi karungi."
(Shiv, I don't want excuses. Have the medicine or else I won't talk to you.)
Shivansh,"Ruhh, maine khichdi khali lekin main dawai nahi khaunga."
(Ruhh, I ate the khichdi but I won't eat the medicines.)
Ruhanika,"Thik hai toh mujhse baat mat karna aap ab."
(Fine then, don't talk to me now.)
Shivansh,"Thik hai. Lao dawai."
(Fine. Give the medicine.)
Now it was Advik's turn.
Ruhanika,"Babu, chalo dawai khalo."
(Babu, come have medicines.)
Advik not wanting to eat the medicines, ran out of the room, as fast as he could while shouting,"Mumma yucky....."
Ruhanika,"Hey Mahadev, yeh ladka. Aap so jaiye Shiv, main dekhti hu Advik ko."
(Oh God, this boy. You sleep Shiv, I'll see Advik.)
Ruhanika ran behind Advik who had reached the living room and made his Dadi as his guard. He hid himself in the pallu of Mrs Rajvansh.
Ruhanika saw him hiding yet played long for some time.
Ruhanika,"Badi Maa, aapne Advik ko dekha? Mera Babu bimaar hai usse dawai khilani thi."
(Badi Maa, have you seen Advik? My Babu is sick, I have to give him medicines.)
Mrs Rajvansh,"Nahi Ruhanika, maine nahi dekha Advik ko."
(No Ruhanika, I have not seen Advik.)
Both of them heard the giggles of Advik.
"Bhabhi, mujhe lagta hai ki Advik, jo ki apni badi dadi k pallu mein chupa hai, usko hospital leja k injection se hi dawai deni padegi."
(Bhabhi, I think, Advik, who is hidden in his badi Dadi's saree end, will have to go to hospital to have his medicines with injection. )
Came the voice of Pankti Aarav Rajvansh.
Pankti,"Waise Bhabhi, main office k liye nikal rahi hu toh raste mein aapko aur Advik ko hospital chhod du?"
(Btw Bhabhi, I am leaving for office so shall I drop you and Advik at the hospital on the way?)
Ruhanika,"Ha Pankti, yeh thik rahega. Main apni bag leke aayi."
(Yes Pankti, that will be okay. I'll get my bag.)
Hearing hospital, Advik came out of his hiding place and spoke,"Naii mumma. Inji naii."
(No mumma. No injection.)
Pankti,"Toh dawai khale chotu."
(Then eat medicines little one.)
Ruhanika fed him the medicines and gave him a sweet treat.
Advik then turned to Pankti with an angry pout on his face and a glare which made him look cutest.
Advik,"Chachi, aap bohot gandi ho. Aapne mumma to bataya ki main taha chupa tha. Katti. Aur main Kittu bhaiya se bhi bolunga katti."
(Chachi, you are very bad. You told mumma where I was hiding. I won't talk to you. Amd I will tell Kittu bhaiya also to not talk with you.)
Pankti picked him up in her lap and started tickling him.
Pankti,"Chotu, bimaar hai toh dawai toh khani padegi na. Office se aate waqt chocolate leke aaungi. Bas."
(Little one, you are sick so you have to take medicines. I'll get you chocolates when I come from office. Okay?)
Advik turned his face away from her and spoke,"Hmm. Chocolate toh Chachu la denge."
(Hmm. Chachu will also get me chocolates.)
Pankti,"Kitna shaitaan hai tu. Maine mana kiya na toh tere chachu bhi nai layenge."
(You are such a devil. If I told your chachu, then he won't get them.)
Advik face turned into pure anger and as soon as he saw his father coming down the stairs, he ran to him and hugged his legs.
Advik,"Papa, chachi blah."
Pankti,"Blah k bachhe..."
(You son of a blah..)
Advik,"Main blah ka bachha nahi Ruhh ka bachha hu."
(I am not son of blah, I am son of Ruhh.)
With that he ran to his mother and snuggled in her lap. Everyone laughed at his cute antics and soon dispersed for their work.
1.5 years later,
Ruhanika was sitting on the bed reading a book and Shivansh was sitting beside her, working on his laptop, when Advik and Kartik came running into the room.
Advik,"Mummaaa....."
Kartik,"Badi Mummaaa...."
Ruhanika kept her book aside and gave her full focus on the two little tornados, who came running to her.
Kartik,"Badi mumma, hum school se bhi aa gaye lekin Naksh abhi bhi so raha hai. Chachi ne kaha ki chotu baby bohot sote hai."
(Badi mumma, we came back from school but Naksh is still sleeping. Chachi said that little baby sleeps a lot.)
Advik,"Ha mumma, phir Chachi ne humein chocolates diye. Chotu baby toh nahi kha sakta."
(Yes mumma, then Chachi gave us chocolates. Little baby can't eat them.)
Ruhanika,"Abhi tum dono kha lo chocolates. Baby abhi sirf 6 months ka hai na isiliye sirf dudh pita hai. Bada ho jaayega tab tum apni chocolates uske saath share karna."
(You both eat chocolates. Baby is just 6 months old so he only has milk. When he will grow up, then give him chocolates.)
Advik and Kartik, both the kids nodded like obedient little boys.
Ruhanika," Achha yeh batao, dono ne khana khaya?"
(Tell me, did you both have lunch?)
Advik,"Ha Mummaaa, choti mumma ne khilaya. Aaj toh Aalu ki sabzi thi na toh maine 2 roti khali."
(Yes mumma, choti mumma fed. Today potatoes were made so I had 2 tortillas.)
Kartik,"2 thodi khayi thi Adu. 1 and half hi thi."
(You did not eat 2 Adu. You ate 1 and half.)
Shivansh,"Achha ab dono ko sona nahi hai. Chalo."
(Don't you both have to sleep. Come.)
Kartik,"Main mumma k pass ja raha hu."
(I am going to mumma.)
Ruhanika,"Achha thik hai."
(Okay.)
Then Advik settled himself between Shivansh and Ruhanika. Ruhanika started patting his head and seeing her, Advik started patting her 8 months tummy. Yes guys, Ruhanika is pregnant.
Advik,"Mumma, baby kab aayega?"
(Mumma, when will baby come?)
Ruhanika,"Bas kuch din aur Babu."
(In some days Babu.)
Advik,"Mumma, girl hogi ya boy?"
(Mumma, will it be girl or boy?)
Ruhanika,"Tumhe kya chahiye?"
(What do you want?)
Before Advik could reply, Shivansh spoke up,"Isse mat pucho, tum dono kuch bhi bolo, beti hi hogi is baar. Ruhh, yaar...."
(Don't ask him, whatever you both say, this time it will be girl only. Ruhh....)
Ruhanika chuckled at him and spoke,"Shiv, mujhe bhi lagta hai is baar aapki ichha puri hogi."
(Shiv, I also think that this time your wish will be fulfilled.)
Shivansh,"Yess, I Love you Ruhh...." With that, he squeezed her in a hug and kissed her cheek.
Advik,"I Love You Ruhh mumma.." And he kissed her at the same place where Shivansh had kissed her.
Shivansh,"Cheater."
Advik's giggles filed the room seeing his father. He then kissed Shivansh on the cheek as well. "Papa, I love you bohot saraaaaa......."
(Papa, I love you lotsssss...)
1 month later,
Shivansh,"Thank you so much Ruhh."
Ruhanika,"Congratulations Shiv, aapki iccha puri hui. Humari beti aa gayi."
(Congratulations Shiv, your wish got fulfilled. Our baby girl has come.)
Shivansh nodded his head.
Soon the door of hospital room opened amd whole family burst in.
Advik was the first one to come to his mumma.
Advik,"Mumma, aap kaise ho?"
(Mumma, how are you?)
Ruhanika,"Main thik hu Babu. Dekho, apni choti behen se milo tum dono."
(I am okay Babu. See, meet your little sister both.)
Hearing her, Advik took Kartik's hand and rushed towards the crib.
Both the kids awed looking at the babygirl.
Advik,"Mumma kitti cute hai."
(Mumma, she is so cute.)
Kartik,"Badi mumma, hum use touch kare?"
(Badi mumma, can we touch her?)
Ruhanika nodded her head at them but Parinidhi interrupted amd spoke,"Hand sanitize karlo. Choti hai na woh toh infection jaldi lag jata hai."
(Sanitize your hands. She is small so she can catch infection easily.)
After doing that, both of them touched her cheek to which she stirred a bit but continued sleeping as she had just been fed sometime ago.
Kartik,"Yeh kitni soft hai."
(She is so soft.)
Advik,"Ab hum do big bhaiya k pass do chotu baby hai mumma."
(Now we two big brother have two small babies mumma.)
After asking Ruhanika about her health and meeting the baby, the family went back home, only Advik stayed.
Shivansh,"Ruhh thodi der so jao ab."
(Ruhh, sleep for some time.)
Ruhanika agreed and went to sleep, which soon came due to exhaustion.
Naming ceremony.
Panditji,"Bacchi ka naam 'S' se rakhiye."
(Name the baby from S.)
Ruhanika,"Chaliye sab suggestion dijiye."
(Suggest names everyone.)
The family started giving suggestions but none were approved.
Pankti,"Bhabhi, Bhai aur aapka naam jod k 'Shivika' kaisa hai?"
(Bhabhi, after joining your and bhai's name, Shivika?)
Shivansh and Ruhanika shared a glance of approval.
"Bohot achha hai."
(It's amazing.)
"Toh aaj se meri beti ka naam hua Shivika."
(Then my daughter is named Shivika.)
"Shivika Shivansh Rajvansh."
