Chapter Twenty-Three

“What have you done with Miguel?” Lucius asked.

Rogan sighed. “I gave him a slow and painful death.”

“Really?”

Rogan looked at Lucius and rolled his eyes. “Yes, that’s what I fucking said. He deserved it.”

Miguel really did. All his men knew they didn’t harm innocent people and he had harmed an innocent woman. It was punishable by death and everyone in the family knew that.

Did he find pleasure in giving Miguel a slow and painful death? Absolutely! It was a way for him to let out his aggression. What better way than on the person who’d caused Bonnie such horrible pain?

“So, what are you going to do about Ethan?” Lucius said.

“I don”t know yet. Ethan has been sending guys into our territory, roughing up some of my men,” Rogan replied.

“And what are you going to do about it?”

“Contact him and arrange a meeting. We need to talk about things.”

“And Bonnie?”

Rogan sighed. “I need to talk to her first before I do anything.”

“About?” Lucius asked.

Did he really need to explain?

“Come on. Spell it out for me,” Lucius said. “Need to make sure you aren”t going to push her away from you.”

“I”m not going to do that.”

“I don”t know. First impression wasn”t good. Yelling for her to be put in the basement and telling her not to cry either.”

Rogan sighed and nodded his head. “Okay, sure. First impression wasn”t the best, but I know it would have been the same for you!”

Lucius shrugged his shoulders. “We aren”t talking about me. We”re talking about you.”

“I think I would like to talk about you right now.”

“Nope. Not happening. We need to make sure you don”t mess it up with Bonalicious and Raynar.”

Rogan leaned back into his chair. Lucius really wasn”t going to give up. There was no way out of this.

“Fine. I”m going to woo her,” Rogan replied. “Simple. She feels the spark between us. I”m going to show her I”ll be the best Daddy to her, and make her see we belong together.”

“And how does she feel about Raynar being in the mix?”

“I introduced Raynar to her before I moved her to the guest house. I briefly mentioned him also being a Daddy to her if she wanted, but no pressure.”

“And how did she take that?”

“She was overwhelmed and I told her she didn”t have to answer now. Asked her to think about it.”

Rogan hoped she would say yes. But he knew not everyone wanted to have a relationship with two men. And he couldn”t blame her if she didn’t.

“What do you think she”ll say?” Lucius asked.

Rogan shrugged his shoulders. “Don”t know. When I see her next, I”m going to ask if she has any questions.”

“And when will that be?”

“Soon. She asked for some puzzles and coloring books. I”m not going to withhold those things from her.”

Sometimes Rogan thought his men saw him as a monster. And sometimes he was, but not to innocent women and children.

“Security at the house?” Lucius asked.

“I wasn”t followed there. Don”t worry. I made sure of it and there are guards there for her. To make sure she is safe and doesn”t try anything.”

“You lock every window and door?”

“Who do you think I am? Of course I did. I couldn”t have her trying to escape. I even told her they were all locked and it would open if someone put the key and code in. She understood. I also gave her a phone to call you, Angelo, Raynar, or myself. Just to let you know.”

“Ah, so that”s how you figured out she wanted puzzles and coloring books.”

“Finally getting with the program.” Rogan chuckled. “But yes, that”s how I found out. And if she tries to contact anyone else who isn”t pre-approved, I”ll get a notification and can either accept it or not.”

“You still have the cameras up around the house? How many times have you checked it since you left her there?”

“None, yet.” Rogan sighed. “Come on, let”s look.”

Rogan pulled up the security camera footage. He guessed she was probably in the living room or one of the rooms he showed her. But as he looked through the camera feed, he didn”t see her.

“Where is she?” he whispered.

Dread filled his stomach as he continued to search every camera screen. Where was she? The feed went to the kitchen and he glanced around. His breath got caught in his throat as he saw feet and hair sprawled on the floor.

“Shit!” Rogan yelled as he pushed away. “Call Angelo and tell him to meet me at the other house!”

He raced down the hallway and out to his car. He needed to get to her, fast.

Everything was a blur as he drove really fast toward the other house, not caring about anything. The only thing on his mind was getting to Bonnie. What happened to her? Why was she laying on the floor?

It looked like she’d passed out. Fear coursed through him as he parked the car and raced toward the house.

“Bonnie!” he yelled as he let himself into the house, and raced to the kitchen. “Bonnie!”

Why had he decided to leave her alone? He should have known she would hurt herself somehow while he was gone.

“Bonnie!” he yelled as he fell to the floor beside her.
