Chapter 30
CHAPTER THIRTY
Dear Baby,
Guess what? I’ve decided to move back to Australia and start a new life with you. You’ll get to be around family all the time, and play with your cousins. I’m on the plane right now to Chicago so I can pack up my life there and begin anew. Lucky I remembered to bring my journal to Australia. Aunt Penny and Ellie are with me, they’re so excited! And can you believe it? You’re not even born yet and by the time you are, you’ll already have had five international flights under your belt! (My most precious cargo.)
Maybe one day when you’re older we’ll fly back to Chicago together and you can meet my friends and see where I used to live. We could even organise a trip to Disneyland!
There are so many fun things we’ll do. What you’ll love about Tarrin’s Bay is going to the beach and making sandcastles, visiting the country fair to go on rides and see the baby animals, playing at the playground in Miracle Park, going to the ice-cream shop, getting new books from Mrs May’s Bookstore, and so much more. I grew up in the Town of New Beginnings and now I’m coming home to it.
Soon, I’m going to watch a movie on the plane. I can’t wait to watch movies with you too. Your Grandma Martha pitched in and got us all premium economy tickets so I can recline my seat a bit more and raise my legs a bit, which is good as last flight my ankles got a bit swollen. I’m also wearing these very attractive support socks to keep my blood circulating!
It’s all happening so fast now, and I’m looking forward to getting everything all set up for your arrival. Don’t come too soon, okay? I want you to be as healthy as possible.
I can’t wait to meet you and give you a name.
Until then, keep growing.
Love, Mum xo (Still getting used to that name!)
