Chapter 15 The Crack

Xu Muchi had strong possessiveness.

Or maybe everyone did when it came to someone they liked.

I got an interview at my dream company.

I never expected to see a very familiar face in the interviewer's seat.

After the interview, he asked me to stay.

"Xiao Miao, long time no see."

After more than ten years, it should have felt strange.

But after just a little chatting, I was delighted to find—

"You haven't changed at all since we were kids."

He looked at me deeply, meaningfully. "Neither have you."

Old friends reunited. Gu Xun started asking me out for meals and hangouts more often.

When Xu Muchi noticed, he began restricting me subtly.

"Brother Chi, I should have my own social circle."

"Anyone else is fine. Not Gu Xun."

"Why not? Brother Gu Xun is so good to me, personally teaching me work stuff, and we've been neighbors for over ten years."

Xu Muchi got angrier.

"Can't you see he likes you?"

After several rounds of this, I snapped.

I said something brainless and against my heart.

"So what if he likes me? Don't forget—we're not real lovers!"

Xu Muchi's face turned cold in an instant.

The always gentle, smiling face looked like winter had arrived.

"Xiao Miao, do fake lovers kiss? Do they sleep together?"

Not long ago, at Xu Muchi's birthday, I'd gotten drunk.

He coaxed me pitifully. "Xiao Miao, I didn't even get a happy birthday kiss."

I waved grandly and went to kiss his cheek, but he turned his face. The kiss landed on his lips.

His hand pressed the back of my head. Under the alcohol, we somehow rolled into bed.

Hearing this, my face burned.

"Even real couples can break up!"

"You're breaking up with me for Gu Xun?"

His voice trembled. The hurt in his eyes felt solid.

In the end, I stormed out in anger.

Damn it.

I actually ran away.
