Chapter 9

Levi

Rain beats down onto my umbrella, rolling off in rivulets. It’s freezing, my feet are soaked, and any other time, these things would make me absolutely miserable, but right now, all I can do is jump to my feet and cheer along with everyone else in the crowd as our team gets another goal.

Sports are not my thing. I don’t understand half of it. At most, I enjoyed kicking around a soccer ball when I was younger, but that's about it.

I have no idea the rules of rugby, despite growing up with two people who played it.

So, for the majority of this game, my eyes have been on Austin. Seeing him out there is like pure porn. The way he moves, how his arms flex when he throws the ball to his teammate, or how he dives for the ball.

Watching him roll around in the mud and come back up with a massive smile on his face makes my chest tight in a good way.

He’s amazing. The whole team is. I haven’t been paying much attention to Cole or Charlie, but when my attention happens to go to them, they seem to be doing good.

Either way, Austin is my main focus.

The smile that lit up his face when he saw me sitting in the stands at the beginning of the game made coming here and sitting in this horrible weather worth it.

It was the first time I turned down an extra shift, and while I thought my boss was going to be pissed, he was pretty understanding. I don’t know why I thought the world would end. I guess it's the chance of upsetting someone or disappointing them that created the anxiety.

Turning down the shift so I could go and do something for myself felt freeing. Knowing that after this game, I have time to hang out with Austin if he wants, has me pretty much bouncing in my seat.

That is, unless he doesn’t want to hang out with me. Don’t they normally go for drinks when they win?

Will he ask me to come along, or will he want to go be with his teammates?

I’m starting to get lost in my own head when the crowd starts to get louder again.

Blinking, I bring my attention back to the field. I find Austin, and my brows jump as I see one of his teammates grab for Austin. They grab him by his shorts and pretty much throw him in the air.

I’m not sure if I should be impressed by the way Austin snatches the ball out of the air, or turned on at the fact that his shorts are pretty much up his ass right now, showing off his toned cheeks.

Nope, it’s the jealousy that Cole is touching my man’s ass that wins out. Only, he’s not my man. Not really.

The moment Austin’s feet hit the ground, he throws the ball to his teammate. They catch it, drop it, and then kick it.

My eyes widen in awe as I watch the ball sail halfway across the field.

The whole place goes nuts, people screaming and cheering. I’m going to guess we won?

Based on how Austin’s team all flock together, hugging and patting each other on the shoulder with shit eating grins, I’m going to say yes.

The other team looks pissed, screaming something towards our players. My brother just flips them off and joins the team.

People start to move towards the field. The need to see Austin, to congratulate him on his win, has me moving with them.

When I get to the grass, Austin looks over and sees me. That same smile slips onto his handsome face, and my stomach erupts into butterflies.

He’s dripping wet, covered in mud, and has never looked so damn sexy.

He jogs over to me. “Did you see that!?” he laughs. “We fucking won!”

“I saw.” I laugh, unable to keep the smile off my face. “I’m proud of you.”

“Fuck.” Austin takes his muddy hands and cups my face, holding me still as he kisses me roughly. “That was for you, baby.” He grins, kissing me again. “Wait for me? I have to shower and get changed. Then we’re going to go out for drinks. You’re coming, right?”

His eyes flick between mine, a glimmer of hope making my heart skip a beat.

“Of course.” I smile. “I’d love to go for some drinks.”

“Awesome.” He kisses me again, still smiling. “See you soon.”

He runs over to his teammates, laughing and jostling each other as they head off the field, leaving me standing there like a damn lovesick fool.

I follow the crowd towards the exit. “Excuse me, where are the locker rooms?” I ask a security guard.

He eyes me suspiciously. “Team members only.”

I want to tell him that my boyfriend is a part of the team, but something tells me that isn’t going to get me anywhere. “My brother, Charlie Darwood, is on the team.”

“Ah.” He nods. “Levi?”

“Um, yes?” How the heck does he know my name?

“It’s that way, around the corner.”

“Thanks.”

He nods, dismissing me, and I head towards the locker room.

When I get there, I see some other people hanging around too, waiting for the players.

One by one, they all come out. Some take off with the girls waiting, others meet up with their partners.

For a moment, I think maybe Austin already left before I even got here, but there’s no way he could have gotten in there, showered, and dressed in that short amount of time.

That's when Cole comes out. “Hey.” He gives me a knowing look.

“Is Austin in there? He told me to meet him out here.”

“He’s just getting into the shower, had to talk to the coach. He's the only one left in there if you wanna go in and wait out of the rain.”

“Where’s Charlie?” I frown, knowing I didn’t see him leave.

Cole rolls his eyes. “Claire had a hissy fit about something, and he took her home before even making it to the locker room.”

“Oh.”

From what Mom has been telling me in the very informative text messages she likes to send me, Claire and Charlie have been fighting a lot lately. I should talk to him, check in on him. I feel like I haven’t actually hung out or talked to my brother in a long time.

Have I really prioritized work over everything?

The fact that I’ve missed a few holidays to take extra shifts answers my question.

Fuck it. No more taking extra shifts at work if it’s going to interfere with spending time with my family.

“Anyways, Austin said you’re coming out with us tonight. Is that true?" Cole asks, grinning.

“Ah, yeah, is that okay?”

“Is that okay?” he laughs. “Fucking hell, it’s more than okay. It’s fucking fantastic. Dude, I’ve been trying to get you to come out with us for years. I’m fucking pumped.”

“Yeah?” I laugh, excitement growing. “Me too.”

“Alright, go tell your guy to hurry up. I’ll meet you two there.”

“Sounds good.”

Cole leaves me standing in front of the locker room door, debating if I should go in or not.

I could just wait out here for him. I’m sure he won’t be much longer.

But Cole said he’s in the shower... meaning he’s wet and naked.

My cock twitches at the thought, and before I know it, I'm moving towards the door. Pushing it open, I hear the sound of the shower running, and my heart starts to race.

The door slowly closes behind me, shutting with a soft click.

Lowering my umbrella, I lean it against the wall, not bothering to close it. The heat of the room causes me to instantly break out in a sweat, so I take off my jacket, putting it on a bench, leaving me in my jeans and T-shirt.

The closer I get to the showers, the more my breathing starts to quicken, body breaking out in tingles as my cock pluses with need.

My mind races, telling me to turn around, to go back. Austin is going to think I’m weird or creepy for being in here like this.

It’s the moan that echoes off the walls that has me coming to a halt.

“Levi,” Austin grunts, the sounds of his heavy breathing filling my ears.

Is he... to the thought of me? He can’t be.

My feet start moving again, my cock at full attention now. My heart pounds violently in my chest as I round the corner of lockers and head in the direction of the showers.

I can’t see Austin through the white plastic shower curtain, but I can see his silhouette. He’s leaning against the wall, his forehead resting on his arm, as his hand moves between his legs. And yup. He’s full on jerking off. To the thought of me.

My hand lowers to my own cock, adjusting myself in my pants, giving myself a little squeeze to ease the pain.

Before I know it, I’m right outside the shower like some fucking creeper.

Austin must hear me because his shadow stops moving, and so does my heart.

In a flash, the shower curtain is being ripped open. My eyes widen, lips parted in shock and arousal at the sight of him. His fully naked, gorgeous body is on display as the water beats down on him, rolling down and off his body. His chest is heaving as his wild eyes lock on mine.

With a low growl, Austin’s hand shoots out, grabbing me by the shirt. He yanks me into the shower stall with him and shoves me up against the wall.

The water pours down on me, but Austin blocks most of it with his body as his lips crash against mine.

My eyes flutter shut as he swallows my moans, my body melting into his. His lips move against mine with this frantic need, my arms reach up, wrapping around his neck as I claw at his wet hair.

We’re all tongue and teeth, need burning me from the inside out. I grunt when I feel my cock rub against my wet jeans, the feeling unpleasant.

Austin rips his lips away from mine, breathing heavily as he lets out a frustrated growl. “Need you naked,” he grunts.

No argument from me, that’s for sure.

He grabs the hem of my sopping wet shirt and throws it to the shower floor with a wet slap.

Next, he pops open my jeans, rips down my zipper, and yanks my jeans down.

It takes him a few tugs because the fabric sticks to my legs, but eventually he gets them off.

I quickly kick off my sneakers so he can rid me of my pants.

Then he’s standing again, his hand cradling the back of my head as he brings his lips back down to mine.

He kisses me like a man in need of air. And I kiss him back with all my pent-up desire for him.

“I’ve been going fucking mad thinking about how much I want you again, Levi,” Austin growls, exhaling his warm breath against my lips. “All I can think about is this perfect cock.”
