Chapter 1
Chapter One
The neon sign buzzed outside the dive bar, a stark, flickering light in the gloom of the night.
I adjust the collar of my leather jacket, the black material tight against my tanned skin.
I don’t look old, exactly—I still have that same warm tone I had three hundred years ago, smooth and unblemished, but my eyes tell the truth.
Dark, obsidian pools that have seen too much history.
My hair is a riot of long, black tendrils that frames my face in a way that I know is impossibly beautiful, at least in the eyes of the prey I target.
Tonight I'm hungry. Not for food. Food is for weak humans. I’m hunting for something sweeter. Something that tastes like life and adrenaline and wild, desperate need.
Making my way inside, I sit at the bar and order a glass of red wine.
My favorite seat was taken, so I settled for the stool next to a beautiful woman.
She was petite, with hair the color of sunshine and a throat that looked impossibly pale and vulnerable.
She was staring into her drink, her shoulders hunched, looking as if she wanted the world to just swallow her whole.
I move closer, the heat of her radiating toward me. "Rough night?" I murmur, my voice low and rough, like gravel settling in sand.
She jumps, her body stiffening for a split second before relaxing. She turns to me, her blue eyes wide and a little shy. "Just... tired," she replies.
"Tired," I repeat, my tongue darting out to wet my lips. "I can fix that."
I lean in, invading her personal space until her scent hits me—vanilla and rain and something musky. I brush my arm against hers softly. "I'm Del."
"Lena," she breathes.
"Come with me," I reply gently.
I don’t give her a chance to overthink it.
I take her hand, my fingers long and cool against her warm skin, and lead her out the back door into the alley.
The city sounds are muffled here, replaced by the sound of my heels clicking on the pavement and Lena’s soft, confused gasps as I back her against the rough brick wall.
Pressing my body against hers, I pin her in place. I feel her heart hammering against her chest, a frantic little bird trapped in a cage. I wrap one hand around the back of her neck, my fingers tangling in her hair, tilting her head back to expose her throat.
"You're beautiful, Lena," I whisper, my lips hovering just inches from the center of her throat. "Did you know that?"
She whimpers, her eyes fluttering shut. "I... I don't know. You're pretty too."
"Pretty isn't enough," I growl, my voice dropping an octave. "I want to taste you. I want to know what makes you tick."
I kiss her. Not gently, not sweet, but roughly.
A possessive claim. My lips are cool, and her skin is hot, and the contrast sends a shiver down my spine.
I slide my free hand under her leather jacket, my fingers tracing the line of her spine.
She shudders on instinct, her back arching into my touch.
I pull back just enough to look at her. Her eyes are dilated, dark pools of desire. She’s already mine.
"I'm going to show you how to really live," I whisper.
I drop to my knees. The pavement is cool and biting on my knees, but I don’t mind. I’m a creature of the night, and this is my hunting ground. I look up at Lena, who’s watching me with a mixture of awe and anticipation.
Reaching up, I unbutton her jeans. She helps me, her hands trembling as she pushes the denim down, kicking one leg off. She wore no panties, just the soft, silken skin of her thighs and her pretty little pussy.
I gently and slowly pick up her leg and place it over my shoulder, fully exposing her to me.
I bury my face between her legs. The scent of her arousal hits me first—a rich, delectable perfume that drives me wild.
I inhale deeply, my nostrils flaring as I take in her essence.
It’s absolutely intoxicating, a drug that makes my head spin.
I run my tongue over her center, from her clit down to the sensitive skin just above her entrance. She gasps, her hands tangling in my hair, pulling my head closer. I love the feeling of her nails scraping against my scalp.
I focus on her clit, flicking it with the tip of my tongue. Alternating between soft, teasing circles and hard, fast flicks. Lena cries out, her hips bucking forward towards me, her body trembling with pleasure.
I slide a finger inside her, testing her wetness. She’s soaking wet, perfect. Her inner walls clamp around my finger like a warm vice. I add another finger, stretching her, working to find that perfect spot.
I want to make her scream. I want to break her down until she’s nothing but a pile of pleasure-soaked mush.
I increase the tempo of my tongue, working her clit in a relentless rhythm. I can feel her orgasm building, her inner muscles clamping down on my fingers, her breath hitching in her throat.
"Lena," I command. "Come for me, Little Bird."
She doesn’t need to be told twice. Her body arches off the wall, her back bowing, her toes curling. She screams, a raw, primal sound that echoes through the alley. Her body convulses, her inner walls rippling around my fingers, flooding my mouth with her ecstasy.
I drink it all in, lapping up every drop, savoring her taste. It’s even better than wine, better than blood. It’s the taste of pure, unadulterated female pleasure.
I pull back, licking my lips, a smug but satiated smile on my face. Lena slumps against the wall, her body spent, her eyes glazed, her chest heaving as she tries to catch her breath.
"That was..." she whispers, her voice trembling. "That was the most intense thing I’ve ever experienced in my life,” she breathes heavily, “No man has gotten me to that intense of an orgasm."
"Just the beginning," I say, standing up. I lean in close to her ear, my cool breath ghosting over her skin. "I'm going to make you feel things you didn't even know existed."
I straighten her clothes, fixing her jeans and jacket. I look at her once more, my dark eyes gleaming in the moonlight.
"I have to go," I say. "But I’ll be back."
I turn and walk away, leaving her to recover in the alleyway. I hear her calling my name, a soft whisper in the wind. I smile, my dark, curled hair bouncing with every step. I found a new toy. A new plaything. And I’m just getting started.
