chapter 2

After leaving the hospital where Freya was, I called a car and asked the driver to take me to another hospital.

At the hospital, the doctor conducted a thorough examination. The results were the same as Freya said: my body couldn't handle a twin pregnancy, and I had to reduce the fetuses, leaving only one child.

I barely hesitated and said, "I want the daughter, abort the boy."

I heard the boy's voice. "Mom, don't you love me anymore? Why do you want to abort me? Aren't I your baby?"

"Don't abort me, the sister is the bad woman's child! Mom, you're mistaken!"

Hearing what I said, the boy in my belly immediately reacted, kicking and punching me as if he wanted to break through my stomach.

The doctor looked at me in shock. "Are you really sure you want to keep the daughter?"

I lifted my shirt, revealing my restless belly, and said coldly, "Look at this boy. Since the day I conceived him, he hasn't behaved, tormenting me all day, not treating me like his mom at all. The daughter, on the other hand, is well-behaved, quiet, and caringshe's my little angel."

As soon as I finished speaking, the commotion in my belly instantly calmed down. That little guy didn't dare to make a move, afraid I might abort him.

He apologized to me, "Mom, I'm sorry. I love you. Please don't abandon me. I just really want to come out and see you."

I let out a cold laugh. Is he in a hurry to meet his real mom? As for me? I'm just a temporary vessel for him.

The doctor said, "Alright. As long as you've made up your mind, go for a check-up first."

Before the surgery, it's necessary to confirm my physical condition. The doctor asked me to undergo a few tests first.

Because I was in a hurry to have an abortion, I spent the whole day running around the hospital's examination rooms, doing tests and collecting results.

The doctor looked at the test results and said, "Your physical condition is quite good. I can schedule the surgery for the day after tomorrow."

Hearing this, my tense heart finally relaxed. Just two more days, and I can escape the tragic fate of my past life.

But just then, a cold voice suddenly rang out. "What surgery?"

My whole body stiffened, hair standing on end, as I turned around in disbelief.

Two people were standing outside the office, Joseph and Freya.

"Why are you here?" I blurted out, my heart suddenly racing.

Joseph walked in with a grim face, snatched the test report from my hand, and shouted angrily, "You're going to abort my child?"

"Stella, why didn't you come to me if you were planning surgery? Luckily, you ran into a doctor I know today, or what if something went wrong?" Freya quickly stepped forward, apologizing to the doctor with concern, "Sorry for the trouble."

Cold sweat instantly drenched my back.

I pinched my thigh hard and threw myself into Joseph's arms, crying. "It's not that I want to abort the baby. Freya said my body couldn't handle twins and that I had to reduce one. I just couldn't bear it, so I wanted to consult another doctor."

"Stella, I'm doing this for your own good. How could you not trust me!" Freya stomped her foot angrily. "And I heard from the doctor that you want to abort the boy? Joseph is an only childdo you want to end their family line?"

I pretended to be startled and hid in Joseph's arms. "That's because you said the girl absorbed double the nutrients and is stronger, while the boy is weak and would be unhealthy after birth, so its better to abort him now."

Joseph frowned at me. "You should have discussed this with me before making a decision. How could you come to the hospital alone for surgery? Let's go home first."

Now that both of them are here, I can only go with them. The surgery will have to be reconsidered later.
