Chapter 36
I followed Nicole and her mom into their home. I grabbed onto Nick's arm as we walked into her living room. Her mom clasped her hands as she turned around to face us.
"Okay. Don't be too wild girls. Trip, show Luna's brother where your room is." He just nodded as he walked past us.
"Guess I'm following him." Nick said as he pulled his arm away from me.
I felt really awkward when he left me alone with the girls. There were 6 of us in total and I only knew Nicole. I felt like everyone's gaze never left me.
"So I guess we can go to my room." Nicole came and grabbed my hand as she pulled me down the hallway.
Once we all got to her room she closed the door and it felt even more awkward. They all stared at me while I played with my hands.
"Well I guess you guys should introduce yourself." Nicole finally said breaking our painfully awkward silence.
"Hi. I'm Annie. I have math class with Nicole." Annie had long curly brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. I however loved her freckles. They were spaced perfectly around her nose and upper cheeks.
"I'm Gabby. I have hand to hand combat with Nicole, well when she shows up." Gabby also had brown hair but it was pin straight. She had sea green eyes that reminded me of the oceans on a tropical island.
"Shut up!" Nicole yelled at Gabby as she threw at pillow off her bed towards her.
We all laughed as another girl cleared her throat to get our attention. "Well my name is Mimi. I also have math class with Nicole but we've been friends since we were 5."
Mimi was a very short, soft spoken sweetheart. She had auburn hair to go with her emerald green eyes. Mimi was also very thin compared to the rest of us and I wondered if she was 15 or not.
"That's right. Save the best for last." I smirked at her.
"Why do you think we left Luna?" Gabby shot back at her. There was a little glaring but Nicole was quick to break it up. I'm sure this isn't the first time they've hung out as a group.
"I'm Aly. Nicole knows me because I'm awesome." She smiled again and I just shook my head. Love the confidence. I also loved her black hair that was a pixie cut. Her baby blue eyes popping with smoky eye she had done.
I didn't notice that they were all waiting for me to introduce myself until I snapped back to reality to see everyone's eyes back on me...again.
"Ugh...hey. I'm Cassie and I have old language class with Nicole."
"But you don't need it." Nicole decided to add in.
"Cruka!" I yelled at Nicole before focusing back on what I was saying. "It's nice to meet all of you."
I got a few giggles and Nicole clapped sarcastically. I'm going to kill her. I really am.
"So let's talk about important things." Nicole whined. I didn't think you talked about important things at slumber parties I never did at any of the other ones I attended. "Boys!!" Nicole explained.
All of the girls shrieked in excitement as I shook my head smiling. Yes talking about boys was fun as long as I was talking about V. No other guy seemed to compare to mine. It should be fun to hear what they thought about the guys at our school.
"Liam Trammel is cute." I raised an eyebrow in interest. I had Liam in my special tactics class.
I called him baby Smiley since they looked very similar.
Liam's golden blonde hair was cut short, perfect tan, and white teeth but he didn't really smile.
Actually he never smiled. Sometimes he smirked though.
I snapped my head to Mimi as she struggled to say who she liked as the girls pestered her. "Well...Mike Crome...I guess him." I had no idea who Mike Crome was. I didn't have any classes with him.
"Terrible choice. He's undersized and he failed hand to hand combat last year." Aly didn't seem to be too fond of Mike.
"That doesn't mean he won't get bigger or that his fighting won't improve." Everyone shifted their focus to me. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything. Since I did, I might as well finish what I started to say.
"He isn't fully mature. He's going to get bigger when he turns 18. Plus I'm amazing at hand to hand but suck in my wolf form. Maybe he's the opposite." I finish and smile over at Mimi who tried to hide her face in her knees.
The girls argued amongst each other before Nicole held up her hands. "Guys the cutest boy doesn't go to our school." She was not going to say who I think she is.
"Did you not see Cassie's brother?" I'm going to kill her.
All of the girls nodded and some even agreed. Now was not the time to piss me off. My brother is off limits. Period.
There was a knock on Nicole's door and she groaned. "Go away loser!" She yelled not even moving from her spot.
I got up to go open the door and saw my brother standing in the doorway. "What's up? You're pissed off."
"Yeah because half of the female population thinks you're hot and it irritates me!" Nick sort of flinched back before shaking his head. "Don't be mad at me. I don't wear a sign inviting it."
True. I rolled my eyes anyways. "Well I'm fine. So bye."
I closed the door to hurry back to the girls. They didn't even notice my absence in the slightest. I just sat back down in my spot as the girls continued to gossip.
"Is the blood pack as good looking as we've heard?" That question made me smirk. These girls would love Smiley if they liked Liam.
"Want to see for yourself?" I asked them knowing that they wanted to.
They all squealed in delight and I mindlinked the boys to ask them to come in. I knew they couldn't be that far if they were watching me.
I heard the knock on the front door and I'm sure all the other girls did as well since they went quiet instantly. Still smiling I looked to the door to wait for their arrival. They knocked on Nicole's door and I got up to open it.
"Yes, Luna." Boss asked as I opened the door. "The girls heard rumors about you guys. I wanted them to see you live in person, you know, to see if the rumors are true." I smirked and Boss raised an eyebrow at me.
Stepping aside I motioned them into the room. They stood there as the girls covered their mouths or just let them hang open.
"These are my babysitters. This is Boss and Smiley. Boss is well...the boss and Smiley can't stop showing his pearly whites to save his life."
"So true." Smiley said smiling even bigger. I thought Gabby was going to faint.
I let the girls drool a little more before I told the boys they could leave. "If you need anything."
"I know." I say as I slowly closed the door behind them. Once the door was closed my ears were assaulted with screams. I tried to muffle the noise by putting my hands over my ears. No go.
"They're hotter than I could imagine."
"Yeah can they come back?"
"I want to touch their muscles."
"Woah. Calm down there. There are plenty of wolves in the forest. Just wait until you find yours."
You would swear I'd killed a puppy with how sad they all looked. Am I like this with the guys at the house? No wonder V gets annoyed at me. He doesn't have patience.
"So what's it like? You know. Being mated." I smile more to myself than anything. "Well before it sucked and I wanted nothing more than to go home."
All the girls stared at me in complete disbelief. All the stories we hear and fantasies that we envision is love at first sight. Falling madly in love with the only one who is meant for you but that's not how it really is. You might not like your mate and you aren't forced to be with them.
"Now though...I couldn't image being anywhere besides with V." I smile to myself as I think of how far we have come, all the ups and downs in such a short amount of time.
All the girls awed as they began to grab pillows or wrap up in blankets around me. I wasn't planning on making this an elaborate story or anything. "Are you nervous for tomorrow?"
A question I didn't want to think about. I was beyond nervous, I was terrified. Meeting all the alphas and their lunas in one night really has me nervous. It doesn't help that I'm supposed to try and help find who tried to kill Brett.
My face must have given away my turn of thoughts as all the girls seemed worried suddenly. "You okay?" Nicole asked me and I just gave a weak smile.
"Yeah. Just thinking about Brett. He's helped me so much and now he won't be at my orvrok kosa."
Nicole got up and quickly came towards he as she pulled me into a hug. "He won't be missing much really. Plus the only thing that matters is he's better, right?"
She was right. It's better to know that he's alright then for him to come to a party. I just nod my head at her as the girls finally turn their attention back to Boss and Smiley.
As soon as I made it to the house I walked straight to the infirmary so I could see Dr. Billings. I walked into his office and saw that he was actually waiting on me to get there.
"Your mate hasn't gone through her heat yet?" I was annoyed by the question because he knew the answer already.
Instead of answering I just stared at him, waiting for him to get to the point of his question. Dr. Billings however didn't answer either. He just stared back at me. We had our stare off for a while before my temper got the better of me.
Slamming my hands down on his desk I growl at him. "Tell me what's going on!"
"I honestly have no idea." Dr. Billings leaned back in his chair as I calmed myself. "I have four possibilities."
I pushed off the desk and sat in the chair opposite of him as he continued to go through all of the possible things wrong with Cassie.
"It could be a hormonal imbalance that we could hopefully fix with the right medication." I noticed right away that he was saving the worst for last. "Another possibility is her age. Since she's so young her body might not be quite ready for that."
I was perfectly fine with that. The doctor however had more. "She could also be infertile. I'm not too sure how wolves' heats work but if she is infertile there would be no reason for her to go into heat."
That didn't bother me much since I really didn't want pups anyways. Cassie on the other hand might want one. Although it wasn't guaranteed that we would have one, if she did want one being told its impossible could crush her.
"Lastly..." Dr. Billings paused and I looked at him in confusion. "What?" I ask wondering why he was taking so long to say the last possibility.
"She could be pregnant."
When I saw what they expected me to wear to the meeting with the other pack alphas and their mates I thought I would die. I don't wear dresses. Ever. The last time I wore heels was in Hungary when I first went through puberty. I still shudder at the thought of that pain.
"Do you need help?" Nicole asked me taking me out of my thoughts.
I quickly nod knowing that I am a tomboy that has no clue how to be girly ever. "I have no idea what to do with this?" I said as I held up what I think is makeup.
Nicole laughed as she took it from my hand as she shook her head in disbelief. "Our luna doesn't even know what mascara is."
"I only wear eyeliner. What is the purpose of anything else?" I tried to argue my point to Nicole.
She rolled her eyes but quickly got to work on my face. It felt like she was performing surgery. She was very carefully with all of her 'tools'. I didn't know it took this long for makeup.
Soon Gabby started on my hair as Nicole finished up my makeup. "Did you see your shoes?"
"Yeah. Sky high and I'll probably still not even reach V's nipples." The girls laughed as Nicole scolded me for moving too much.
When she finished she blocked the mirror so I couldn't see. "Nicole." I whined and she just crossed her arms as I huffed in annoyance.
"Get dressed then you can see."
Nicole pushed me into the bedroom so she could get ready in the bathroom. I looked around the room nervously to make sure that none of the other girls were there before I quickly changed into my dress. It was a red dress that was way too tight for my comfort. Who picked this out?
I slipped on the black heels that went with the dress before I walked back to the bathroom door to knock for Nicole.
Nicole threw the door open and her jaw hit the floor. "Cassie. You're seriously a babe."
I blushed as I looked down at my feet. Nicole grabbed my arm and pulled me into the bathroom before placing me in front of the mirror.
"Just take a look for yourself."
I did as she said and I couldn't believe this was me. Usually I only put on eyeliner and that rarely happened.
"That bandage dress and those Louboutin was a perfect combination."
I turned to the door and screamed out from excitement before running over to Aria. I looked behind her to see if Derrick and my uncle were there but I didn't see them.
"What are you doing here?" I ask still in shock.
Aria just smiled as she pulled away and looked me up and down one time. "I couldn't miss your orvrok kosa."
I was so excited now. My mom and dad were supposed to come as well. I just hope my dad and uncle can get along just for today. Even though my uncle isn't here at Nicole's house, I know he was here since Aria was here.
Everything just seemed to be going right already. I know it's still early but I just had a good feeling about today. I hug Aria one more time before I take a deep breath and walk out of Nicole's room dragging Aria by her left arm. "Hey Cassie. No need to pull. I'm coming with you."
I just smile to myself as I continue to the front door, grip securely around Aria's arm. I was ready to get back home. I was ready to be back with V.
The shock on Boss and Smileys face was hysterical. It was the first time I Smiley didn't have a smile. Boss couldn't eyes looked like they would pop out of his head. I just smiled as I walked over towards them giving my brother a hug.
"Ready to head home?" I ask the boys with no reply.
So I walked to the SUV and opened the door. As I climbed in I yelled out to them. "Hurry your asses!"
