So Wrong
Travis
Well, it officially took me one week to fuck up Wrenly’s life, and Granger thinks it’s funny. Fuck him!
“Come on, let’s go.” I took Wrenly’s hand, and we went to the emergency closet where I pulled out blankets and wrapped them around her, before I lifted her up in my arms and stormed out of that community center. I put her in my truck, then told her to wait there and not move. I ran back inside and grabbed her phone and clothes, the hell with the bra and panties.
“Travis!”
I turned and saw Morgan. “Is there any chance your phone is on vibrate? I’ve been calling it for the last hour…constantly. It’s not going to voicemail yet, so I don’t think it’s dead.” She had a shit eating grin on her face.
I finally let out a small chuckle. “You can be such a bitch to him.”
“What else are friends for? If he’s really lucky it’s milking his prostate.” She wiggled her brows. “A lot.”
I heard Creed erupt into laughter.
“That’s fucked up, Morgan.” I turned and marched straight out of that community center. When I hopped in the truck, I looked at Wrenly. “Do you feel like you should go to the medical center?”
She wouldn’t look at me but stared out the window. She didn’t answer me and that worried me. If circumstances were different, I’d not suggest what I was thinking, but after she said that about me possibly not being the only one, it was on my mind.
“Wrenly, I’m sure it was just me and you, but just in case?” I asked and she sniffled.
“That medical center has nothing I need. Please take me home.”
Fuck that…
I started my truck, and we drove to my place. “Wait here.”
“Travis, what are you doing?”
I hopped out. “I’ll be right back.” I jogged inside and grabbed a clean set of clothes and jogged back out. The hell if I was going to let her stay home alone after what happened. As I drove, I had to push down the rage growing inside me. I didn’t even care that I was drugged, but drugging Wrenly was another story, fuck I wanted to kill Victor. When I pulled into her driveway, she hopped out. I quickly jumped from the truck then ran over to swoop her up into my arms. “It’s freezing and you don’t have shoes.” She didn’t protest but laid her head on my shoulder. She used her handprint to let us in, then I kicked the door shut behind us. I didn’t set her down until we were in the bathroom. “Get your shower first while I make some coffee.”
She gave me a short nod before I left the bathroom with a heavy heart. There was no question, we definitely had sex. My dick felt raw as hell as it swung around freely since I had no fucking underwear on. We must have had a lot of sex, and of course the fucker worked just fine when I couldn’t remember it. I realized I was slamming cupboards as I looked for the coffee, so I stopped and took in a few deep breaths. Then my eyes shot open. How the fuck did my phone end up in there? Then my rage built again. Why was Patrick in her panties? That fucker better not have touched her! I wanted to look at the camera feed, but fucking Magnus had my phone!
“Goddammit!” I slammed my fist on the counter then leaned against it. I felt so guilty, like I forced myself on her or something. The anger inside me is mostly directed at myself. By the way she’s acting, she feels violated, and I don’t know what to do about it. The blood flowing through my veins boiled as I thought about waking up inside her. How the hell did I even stay inside her and sleep? It was Wrenly, not some random chick that didn’t matter. Well, not that other women don’t matter, but Wrenly…it was my girl. The one I loved so fucking much it drove me insane for years. The one I never thought I’d be able to look at ever again.
I made the damn coffee then ran outside to grab my clothes. Wrenly had to be as exhausted as me, but we needed the coffee so we could wake up enough to talk. The pain and fear I saw in her this morning had my heart breaking and it was all my fault.
The coffee finished and I just stared down at the counter, trying to figure out how I was going to get Wrenly to forgive me. I should have been protecting her, not fucking her.
“Stop it.”
I turned my head and saw Wrenly, standing there in a pair of yoga pants and a big t-shirt. Her wet hair was pulled to one side. Her hands rested on her hips. “Stop blaming yourself, Travis.”
“I’m not.” I lied.
She continued to glare at me. “Either you’re blaming yourself, or you’re disgusted by what we did.”
My shoulders deflated. “Both, okay? I have loved you my entire life, then you show up here as this unbelievably intelligent, independent, fucking gorgeous woman, and I already fucked it up, exactly like I tried to avoid all those years ago.” I stepped closer. “Touching you, kissing you, and expressing how much I love you never should have happened that way. It was my responsibility to oversee the mission and everything else related to it until those contracts were closed. This happened to you on my watch.” I stopped in front of her. “The devastation on your face, the way you’ve been trembling like you’re scared, you’re so hurt and upset, and all of it is because of me. We weren’t ready for this, at least I thought we would reestablish our friendship and learn all about each other first. There’s so much I don’t know about you yet, and I don’t even know if sex with me was something you wanted. I don’t even know how you take your coffee, what music you like, or what kind of books you read.”
Her eyes softened and she placed her palm against my cheek. I shut my eyes to its warmth and soaked it in. “Travis, look at me.”
I opened my eyes and looked into hers.
“You are in no way responsible for anything that happened to anyone last night. Victor brought drugs to work, Creed and the other Originals allowed it despite your protest, we just came off an intense mission, and I’m not upset that we had sex. It’s the consequences that have me upset. I will say what I’ve always said to you, since we were little. I love you, Travis. I loved you when we were tiny, I loved you when we were awkward pre-teens, and I loved you when we had to say goodbye. Then I’ve loved you for the in-between and I love you now.”
She looked a little fuzzy since my eyes were suddenly wet. “If you’re scared about the consequences we can go to the medical center.” I took a chance and said it again.
“The day after pill is not an option for me. There’s still a lot we have to discuss.” Her eyes were wet too as she studied mine.
“Then please talk to me, Wrenly.” I begged.
She shut her eyes as she nodded, making a tear fall so I caught it. “Let’s get you a shower and some coffee, then we’ll talk.” She scrunched her nose.
I groaned. “Really?”
She laughed through her tears. “I think you were upset just enough to not realize you still don’t have a shirt on, and I can’t concentrate with those muscles and tattoos. Plus, you smell like cigarettes, tequila, and sex.”
Damn, I was even outside in the freezing cold.
I tilted my head. “I don’t smoke.”
She scrunched her nose. “I think we both did because I could smell it in my hair before my shower.”
I let out a breath of frustration. “What kind of people did we become? My phone is literally inside Magnus.”
She sighed. “And the brother of a famous actress is wearing my thong.”
The doorbell rang and we looked at each other. “That better not be Magnus trying to give my phone back.” I walked to the door and opened it, to see Creed and Melissa.
“What now?”
“May we come inside?” Creed asked.
I looked at Wrenly and she nodded. “Sure, come on in, what can we do for you?”
They stepped inside and Creed looked at me first. “Would you please call your cell phone carrier and ask them to disconnect your service? Magnus is going to be put under for surgery, but the medical center is overwhelmed so it’ll be awhile.”
Melissa spoke up. “He keeps whining and crying about it ringing. Morgan is having way too much fun with his prostate.”
I tried not to laugh, but Wrenly did so I lost it.
Creed looked at the floor and wouldn’t look at me or Wrenly. “I saw how upset Wrenly was about the possibility of other things that could have happened last night. So, I went over the recordings. I promise I’m not letting anyone else see the videos.”
I crossed my arms. “What did you find?”
He looked in a completely different direction. “It wasn’t hard just to watch the both of you. I can say with confidence that no other man was near Wrenly. Irons, you tore her clothes off her in the hall as you kissed and backed her into that closet. Nobody else entered, and you must have left your phone in the banquet hall. Patrick was later seen walking by, completely fucking naked, and found her underwear. So, whatever happened is just between the two of you.”
I shut my eyes. “Thank God.”
I opened them and looked down at Melissa. “What are you doing with Creed today, and how do you look so normal?”
She held one finger up. “Only four Originals aren’t hung over, so I’m assisting.” She held a second finger up. “I don’t drink wine and I’m allergic to chocolate. Drakos knows better than to eat chocolate then kiss me and he doesn’t drink wine either.”
I gagged.
“The tequila bottle though?” Wrenly scrunched her nose as she tilted her head.
Melissa rolled her eyes. “Who do you think drank the tequila? We had no idea what was happening, so we hit the tequila pretty hard and joined the fun. I happen to be blessed and never feel hungover, but Drakos is in his bed, probably still crying.” She shook her head in disgust. “Lightweight.” Her eyes met mine. “Who knew black ops guys were so sensitive? They’re all crying about one thing or another.”
Creed looked disturbed. “Drakos had a bottle stuck up his ass, Axton woke up with his dick in his hand and was a complete mess, with said bottle practically in his face. Magnus is now 5G with a magic battery that doesn’t die, and somehow he’s having the best orgasms of his life thanks to my wife. I think they all have a reason to cry, Melissa. Plus, while you’re making fun of Magnus over at the medical center, I’m looking over videos I don’t want to watch.”
Melissa laughed and looked at Wrenly. “It’s funny as shit. One minute you’re talking with Magnus, then the next his butt vibrates and he’s giving you his “O” face. It’s still happening although he’s all dried up.”
“You’re instigating it, Melissa. You kept recording it and sending it to Morgan. Nobody will take the phone away from her because Addie is like a pit bull, and now, either Irons calls his service provider, or I have to go home and face off with my seven year old daughter. I really don’t want to have to face Addie. She will ask me why I’m taking mommy’s phone away, and that child is like a human lie detector.”
I held my hand out. “I’ll do it, just let me have your phone.”
Wrenly
In a way, I was glad Melissa came with Creed. I needed the laugh more than I should admit. Creed said he had to skip out on Mass and lunch with the Rossi’s to watch circus porn. He also said he would be meeting with operatives individually to explain what he saw happen to them in the security footage.
Creed and Melissa stayed while Travis took a shower.
“Why was Patrick so upset about his family tree and DNA?” I asked.
Melissa laughed too hard, and Creed shook his head. “Because he isn’t just a dumb adult, he was an even dumber kid. I guess their family went to a family reunion at the state park when he was like fourteen or maybe younger, not sure. He left the family reunion and met a girl all the way on the other side of the park. The girl wanted to walk over closer to her family reunion and Patrick walked with her, having his sense of direction completely off and more focused on the girl. He didn’t realize she walked him to his own family reunion, and got caught fingering his cousin in the public bathroom. He says he got therapy, and it was traumatizing, but did okay until Morgan got drunk one night and told everyone. Now he’s constantly getting teased and is paranoid about living in a small rural area with family nearby.”
Melissa giggled. “He thinks the genealogy discussion is just as important as consent before sex. I think he will probably offer those genealogy tests to every woman in town.”
I scrunched my nose. “He finger fucked his own cousin?”
Creed nodded. “Yeah, and fucking with him about it is a blast, but it’s Creed’s Lake business. We don’t need the tabloids getting that story and having the Creed name anywhere attached to it.”
“Oh yeah, could you imagine?” Melissa shook her head. “Incest in an A-list actresses family?”
Out of nowhere, Creed sat up straight and gasped. He looked at Melissa and tilted his head. “How the hell did Drakos know not to eat those brownies? Wait, you said…” His eyes grew and he leaned in. “Are you? No way, nope that’s not possible.” He shook his head then tilted it, then scratched his head. “Or is it?”
I laughed but Melissa stood and stomped on his foot. “Ouch shit!”
“My torso is regular size, asshole!”
“Regular size is…he’s six foot ten, Melissa! Regular size is even too small! How the fuck does that work?” He yelled as he tried working the pain out of his foot.
Good luck with that one, Creed.
“I don’t know, go watch your circus porn, dickhead!” Melissa stormed off and Creed chased after her.
“I don’t want to watch circus porn, and hey, I’m your boss goddammit! Get back here! How the hell do you move so fast with those short legs? Slow the fuck down!”
I shut the door and laughed so hard I could barely stand up straight. Melissa was totally messing with him, I could see it written all over her face.
