Chapter 23
Randy
I stood at the open French doors, listening to the laughter from below where Cameron, Austin, and Jeff were cavorting in the lake. I walked over to where Logan stood, gazing down at them. Then I saw what drew his attention.
Doug stood on the jetty.
I slipped my arms around Logan’s waist. “You okay?”
“Yeah. You?”
I chuckled. “When you said Dad … I swear, it was as if I’d stepped into the Twilight Zone.”
He turned his head toward me, frowning. “The what?”
I laughed. “Never mind.” Logan resumed his observation, and I sighed. “You should spend time with your dad. And yes, all three of us need to talk later, but now’s the time for a little bridgebuilding, don’t you think?” He nodded, and I nuzzled his neck. “I was so proud of you.”
“What for?”
“The way you took control when your dad was laying down the law.”
Logan huffed. “I couldn’t let him go on. I had to set him straight.”
I cackled. “And that ain’t never gonna happen.” He turned in my arms, and I knew something was eating away at him. “Whatever’s on your mind, spill it. Don’t hide it from me.”
Logan’s face tightened. “He asked why I’d never told him I was gay. Well, why didn’t he? I had no clue. Mom never said a word.”
“That’s because it wasn’t her truth to share,” I reminded him. I kissed him on the lips. “Go on, go down there and get the conversation started.” I ran my fingers through his hair. “Holler if you need me.”
Logan finally relaxed into a smile. “I love you, you know that?”
I beamed. “Ditto, baby.” I released him, and he headed for the steps. A moment later, Travis joined me, a can of soda in his hand. He gazed at the frolickers.
“Look at them. They’re like frisky little puppies.”
I said nothing. My focus was on Logan.
Travis nudged my arm. “You really had no idea?”
“Uh-uh.”
“Hey, Randy?”
I glanced at him. “What’s up?”
“It’s for real? You and Logan?”
I smiled. “As real as it gets.” Then I grinned. “Don’t worry. It’s not an infectious condition. You’re not about to be struck down with a case of terminal monogamy.”
Travis gave an exaggerated wipe of his brow. “Thank God. I like my life just as it is.” He peered at the guys in the lake. “Cameron gets in the sack with other guys. So do I. It works for us.”
“And there’s nothing wrong with that,” I told him. “It stopped working for me, that’s all.” I patted him on the back. “Go join ’em. Have some fun.”
He smiled. “You know what? I think I will. Let me grab a towel first.” He disappeared back inside the cabin.
I took a deep breath. Outside, I was putting on a damn good show of being cool, calm and collected. Inside?
I was a mess. I was probably still in shock from Doug walking into my bedroom and turning my world upside down. It wasn’t so much shock as elation when I remembered Logan saying yes. Then there was the business of a more than two-decades-long friendship that I needed to examine, to check all was well at its foundations.
And I thought it was going to be a quiet weekend.
Jeff
I trod water, my face upturned toward the sun, feeling its warmth. Several feet away, Travis and Cameron were playing in the water, propelling each other into the air in a back flip before splashing down.
Logan and Doug perched on the steps, deep in conversation.
I guess they have plenty to talk about. That had been a shocker.
Austin and Brandon sat on the jetty, their feet dangling above the surface of the lake, also deep in conversation.
Yeah, my curiosity got the better of me.
I swam over to them, then hoisted myself onto the planked jetty. “What are you two plotting?”
The way they both jumped, I knew I’d hit a nerve.
Austin shrugged. “I’m just giving Brandon here a few pointers on how he could generate another stream of income.”
I chuckled. “Let me guess. Does it involve being in front of a camera?”
Brandon laughed. “You know it. I love the idea. Austin has been telling me some more about this guy who wants to set up an FTM porn network.”
Cameron called out to Austin to join them, and he waved. Austin squeezed Brandon’s shoulder. “Remind me to swap numbers before we leave.”
“You got it.”
Austin plunged into the water, swimming over to join Travis and Cameron.
Brandon leaned back, his weight on his hands. “I don’t think I can ever thank you enough for inviting me along.”
“Your first gang bang? You clearly had a lot of fun.”
He gazed at me, his expression unexpectedly earnest. “Yeah, I did, but it was way more than that. It was such a high, and I want more of that, but the best thing about it?” His eyes sparkled. “It gave me confidence. Now I want to see what else is out there.” He cocked his head. “You okay with that?”
I grinned. “Sweetheart, you just unfurled your wings. Now’s the time to test them out.” I leaned over and kissed his cheek. “And I’m more than happy to let you fly.”
“Can I still fly back to you sometime?”
I looked into his dark eyes. “Always.”
Brandon cupped my cheek and kissed me. “Thank you.” Then he let out a happy sigh.
“Is there anything left to cross off on your list for this weekend? Because I think you hit every target.”
He bit his lip. “Not quite.”
I searched my memory. “Oh?” And then it hit me. “Wait a sec. You weren’t serious, were you? About having a strap-on in your bag?”
Brandon grinned. “You bet your ass I was serious. And speaking of your magnificent ass…Did you like it when I rimmed you?”
I schooled my features. “No.” Brandon blinked, and it was my turn to grin. “I fucking loved it. Couldn’t you tell?”
“Well, now you mention it…” He peered at me. “You’ve never bottomed?”
“Nope.” And right then my hole was twitching like something possessed at the thought of being filled. “I’ve had a finger in there, but it was my finger.”
“Don’t they say there’s a first time for everything?” Brandon met my gaze. “You promised to make it good for me, and you did. So do you trust me to repay the favor?”
I didn’t reply, but claimed his mouth in a long, sensual kiss. When I broke it, I smiled. “Why don’t we go up to my room, and you can take my anal cherry.”
Brandon’s face lit up. “Sounds like a great way to end the day.”
We stood, and he took my hand, tugging me toward the steps.
“We don’t need three guesses to know where you two are going,” Travis hollered.
I knew where Brandon was going—where no man had gone before.
