Chapter 19 #2
“Oh, fuck, Kai…” I gasp the beta's name, just like Nick told me to. The alpha growls in approval, kissing the column of my throat, a purr starting to rumble in his chest. The sound sends shockwaves of pleasure through me for a second time, and I whine for them.
Hearing me say his name as I come makes Kai’s body tremble, and his scent of balsam and cedar goes nuclear as it surrounds us with his desperate need.
“Think he came in his pants again?” Nick teases as he removes his fingers gently and grabs a towel.
The thick tang of orange and clove coming from him has my knees weak.
“Normally, I would lick up every drop, but there will be plenty of time for that tonight. Right now, I think Kai can clean you up.”
“You should write scripts for horror movies,” Kai snarks at the alpha, shooting him a glare, before meeting my eyes.
“I did not come in my pants. I’m hoping that was a one-time thing.
Next time I come, it’ll be inside you, or not at all.
” I give him a skeptical look, and the beta shrugs.
“You said no jerking off. I’m still learning to listen, but those instructions were pretty clear. ”
“You’re serious?” I ask, and Nick snorts.
“Oh, yeah. He’s serious. Man gets a boner every time we so much as say your name.
Don’t even get me started on how much time he spent in my room this week.
” Nick finishes cleaning his hand but continues to support my weight.
My right leg is still draped over Kai’s shoulder.
Something the beta doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to change.
“One taste,” I say, biting my lip as I watch the beta. He presses his forehead to my thigh.
“God damn. You’re making the whole ‘no coming in your pants’ thing very difficult,” Kai teases, making me giggle.
However, when he lifts his head, it’s clear he’s not teasing me anymore as he meets my eyes. He holds my gaze as he slowly leans in, pausing as he licks his lips just before he reaches my center. One last chance to change my mind.
I don’t want to change my mind though. I want Kai to taste my cum. I want to see the look in his eyes. I want to know if it brings back memories like it does for me.
“Do you still taste like peppermint candies, Sweet Plum?” Kai murmurs, our eyes locked as he tips his chin up and swipes his tongue slowly through my center.
He moans loudly against my pussy as he takes his time, savoring his one taste.
He trembles, and my body shakes, slick dripping onto his tongue as my blood catches fire in my veins.
“Fucking hell,” Nick grunts behind me. “Your scent is going to turn every single man in town feral, Little Omega.”
Kai’s tongue drags over my clit as he finishes taking his taste, my hips rolling forward, trying to chase the feeling.
Benson did so good before. I can’t believe how talented his tongue is, considering he’s a virgin, but Kai is what some might affectionately call an eater. The man gets off on going down. On me… Only me.
Fuck. What are these men doing to me?
“Take me home,” I demand.
“We still have gingerbread houses to make, Omega.” Nick nibbles at my earlobe playfully, scent-marking my neck, and I huff.
He certainly succeeded in giving me an attitude adjustment.
“Then we’re going to go to your apartment and grab enough clothes for the rest of the month because I’m not letting you out of my sight for another week. No more running away.”
“So bossy,” I tease as Kai helps me lower my leg off his shoulder after cleaning my thighs up with a clean towel before grabbing a trash bag.
“Better take these with us,” Kai mutters as he gathers all the towels. Nick holds my thong out on the tip of his finger as I turn to face him. I snatch them out of his hand and pull him in for a kiss.
“The next time I come, I want your knot locked inside me, but this time it’ll be your name I’m screaming,” I whisper before moving away from him so I can step into my thong.
“I’ll see you two out there once you get those big boys under control.
” I point to the front of their pants and then grab a scent-blocking spray off one of the supply shelves.
It saddens me to use it, but I can’t exactly go back out there smelling like slick. I toss the bottle at Kai, who catches it, pouting.
“You too. Can’t have everyone asking questions.”
“Boo,” Kai complains but uses the spray before handing it to Nick. The alpha doesn’t hesitate, and now that they have both neutralized the scent of me on their bodies, I’m the one pouting.
“Don’t worry, Plum. We’ll be covered in the scent of your sweet peppermint slick again soon,” Nick swears with a smirk, and I sigh wistfully.
“Promises, promises.”
BENSON
I’ve always liked Christmas. I even enjoy the music, but the way it’s echoing off the walls is making my head ache.
The large multi-colored classic bulbs that are decorating the rafters aren’t helping.
It's not usually so empty here, but with just the wedding party attending, the space isn’t filled to the brim with bodies. Something that buffers the sound.
Stella and Val should be here any second, but I'm more curious about where my brother dragged our omega off to. Plum has been moody today, and I don't understand why. I have a feeling Nick is handling that, however.
“Can you maybe turn the volume down a bit?” I ask the bartender that’s serving the party, and she nods eagerly.
“Yes. Oh my god, I’ve been waiting for someone to ask. Taron swore up and down that it needed to be this loud." She sighs with relief and scurries off.
“Have you seen Kai?” I ask Sable, who is sitting at the bar with my brother Rhian.
“Um, he disappeared that way.” She points toward the hall that I watched Nick and Plum heading down.
“Thanks, sis,” I say, and she grins brightly at me. Rhian gives me a grateful look, and I’m about to go look for the three of them when Rhian’s eyes go wide as he stares at something behind me. Sable grabs his hand and frowns.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” she asks him, but Rhian only manages a shake of his head.
Turning around slowly, hoping whatever it is, it’s not bad when I see the last person I expected. A petite, brown-haired omega walks in with a cardboard box and a small gift bag clutched tightly to her chest. She’s glancing around the room with a nervous look on her face.
"Mom?" I ask, my body moving toward her even though my brain hasn’t caught up to what I’m seeing yet. “Mom…” I say again, struggling to believe what I’m seeing. Guilt tightening my throat when she winces at my tone.
“Holy shit,” I hear my brother say behind me as he pushes past me, grabbing the gifts from her arms to place on the gift table.
“Benny, I brought some cookies.” She shrugs, nibbling her lip and watching Rhian take them to the dessert table. She looks as unsure as she sounds, but she’s here.
“Stella is going to be so happy to see you.” I try not to sound too shocked as I gather her in my arms, feeling her slight tremble as she hugs me back.
Her apple scent is a little sweet with a hint of Granny Smith sour.
It’s comforting. Not in the same way it was as a young kid, but I still smile when I breathe it in.
“I'm so glad you could make it,” I add as I step back.
“Me too.” She nods as Rhian shuffles over to hug her next. His eyes meet mine with a question, and I shrug, shaking my head. I don’t know, but I have a guess.
I’m pretty sure our overprotective big brother had a hand in this. I don’t think anyone else could have gotten through to her. Lord knows Rhian’s tried.
“Is your sister here yet?” she asks softly, crossing her arms when my brother steps back.
“No, but they will be here any second. Come over and meet Val’s parents.” Rhian gently leads her away, and I have to fight not to snort when Valente and Valentine absolutely freak out when they see her.
Plum comes out of the hallway, stealing my attention away as I watch her and Sable scurry to the bar. She’s blushing bright red, and when Sable leans in to whisper something to her, they both giggle.
Nick and Kai walk out together a minute later, the alpha smirking as he ambles over but abruptly stopping when he sees our mom with Rhi. Kai notices next and pulls his lips between his teeth, holding back a laugh. His best friend’s parents are a lot.
Nick looks both relieved and proud as he smiles after the shock passes. I reach out to squeeze his shoulder when he stops by my side.
“I know you had something to do with that. Stella is going to be so happy. How did you convince her to come?”
“I told her the truth. Stella needs her; even if she isn’t perfect, she still needs to try.
” Nick has always put the rest of us first. Being the parent when we needed it, the brother when warranted, and the best friend I couldn’t imagine living without.
I’m not surprised he was able to finally talk sense into Mom.
I watch as he pulls her in for a hug, and she pats his back. The moment doesn’t last long before it’s interrupted.
“They’re here!” Felicity shouts, getting everyone’s attention.
Stella is all smiles as she walks in hand-in-hand with Val.
Everyone cheers, clapping for the happy couple. It takes a second for Stella to catch sight of our mother, since she’s smaller than half the crowd, but when she does, she squeals.
“Mom,” she whispers, clearly in as much shock as I was, with wide eyes that are rapidly filling with tears. “You’re here…”
“Congratulations, Stella,” Mom says gently, and Stella’s self-control snaps as she charges our mother at full speed. Thankfully, Nick provides stability and prevents them from falling as the two omegas start crying, holding each other tightly.
Val has to pull his soon-to-be wife off of Mom, but the second they’re separated, Stella is hugging Nick.
“Thank you. I can’t…” She chokes on the rest of it, stepping back and settling against the side of Val. “Thank you.”
Nick manages to remain stoic as our sister swipes at her tears.
Later, after we’ve spent the evening drinking and building gingerbread houses, Stella stops by our table to hug Nick once again. She holds up a delicate gold dragonfly necklace to show him after.
“Mamaw’s necklace?” Nick asks, surprised to see it again after so many years.
“Mom’s gift. My something old.” She sniffs, looking the happiest I’ve seen her since she got to town.
I look over to see Mom laughing with Val’s parents and looking more alive than she has in years. Part of me resents that it’s taken this long for change, that she’s missed so much, but I can’t let the past keep shadowing what’s to come.
Plum leans against me, her sweet scent calming the rising emotions. Sliding my arm around my omega, I lean down to kiss the top of her head. Her silver eyes meet mine, and I know I’m looking at my reason.
This is exactly where I want to be, as long as I live.
