Chapter Nine

Ava knew their time together was short. She had expected to wake up and find Knox gone, only he was still in the bed, and she wanted to scream with joy. She was not a woman that screamed for anything.

She rushed downstairs, going straight to the kitchen. There was no sign of Marshal, so she rushed to the stove to start making some pancakes. She was in the mood for chocolate chip pancakes and she knew they were Knox’s favorite.

There was something different about last night. It was only their second time having sex, yet it was different. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it as to why. The way he’d looked into her eyes. She didn’t know if it was all the romance movies, or just hopeful thinking.

She had fallen in love with Knox a long time ago. Over the last few years, he had come and gone, and she did wonder if he had women elsewhere. He never brought them home, nor did he ever bring them up. It was a mystery. She didn’t for a second believe he lived as a celibate.

“It doesn’t matter,” she said, pressing her fingers to her forehead and pushing them out. “Of course it doesn’t matter.”

“What doesn’t matter?” Marshal asked, entering the kitchen.

Ava turned to see the other man was dressed for business. “A suit?”

“I’ve got to go and meet the lawyer.” He shrugged. “Business and the divorce.”

“Shouldn’t it be a clean-cut divorce?”

“You’d think so but that is law for you, and money-grabbing women.”

“Hey, I am a woman, and I’m standing right here.”

Marshal sighed. “Okay, not all women, but it seems I attract them, and they suck. Either way, you and Knox have the house all to yourself.” He gave her a wink. “I’m sure you and he can come up with some fun things to do while I’m gone.”

“Stop it, it’s not all about sex.”

“Trust me, I’ve heard it is all about the sex, and don’t even try to disillusion me.”

“Is that how all your marriages started? It was all about the sex?”

Marshal’s face scrunched up. “Nope, if you must know, it was all about the spending sprees.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be. That is life. So, can I ask for one or two of your delicious pancakes?”

After he told her about his marriages, and she knew from personal experience he had a rough time of it, she got to working the batter.

Spooning out large enough dollops with an ice cream scoop, and then using a measuring spoon for the pancakes.

They looked so good. She made him four, placed them on a plate, and drizzled on some maple syrup.

“I do not know how these can possibly be unhealthy?”

“Sugar, cooked in butter, chocolate chips, and maple syrup.”

“Nah, maple syrup is healthy.”

“Anything that tastes good is considered unhealthy.”

“That I will agree with. You wouldn’t get broccoli tasting this good,” Marshal said.

She couldn’t help but laugh.

He finished his pancakes as she did more for Knox and herself. Marshal pulled out his cell phone. “That is me, and I will see you later.” He winked at her. “Have fun, you crazy lovebirds.” And he left while also taking a fifth pancake.

She didn’t complain. Marshal was a good guy. Calling him Blondie’s husband was so far out the window. She actually liked the guy.

She was just pouring some orange juice, as Knox appeared in the doorway.

“Marshal is leaving?”

“Something to do with seeing his lawyer about business and a divorce thing. Don’t worry, I fed him. I was going to bring all of this up to bed.”

“And now, I get to eat it here.” He moved closer and banded an arm around her waist. With the other hand, he picked up a pancake, pressing it together, and then dipping it into the warm maple syrup she’d poured into a small bowl for him to add as much or as little as he wanted.

He took a bite, went in for a second dip, and then presented her with the pancake. She took a bite, with a little moan. It did taste good, but anything with chocolate always tasted so good.

“So, we’re all alone, at last.”

Ava didn’t fight as Knox moved her back. She trusted him as they entered the dining room. The table was not made, and as they got closer, Knox spun her around and placed her hands on the table.

“If I were you, I wouldn’t let go.”

She loved the command of his voice as he took charge.

She’d pulled on a dress, along with a pair of panties and matching bra.

Knox pushed her dress up to her waist, but as his hands touched the panties, he let out a little tut.

This time, he didn’t tear them off her body.

He pushed them right down her thighs, and she stepped out of them.

“I think when you and I are alone in the future, you shouldn’t be allowed to wear them. ”

“I shouldn’t?”

“Nah, they’re awful things.”

She didn’t have time to giggle as he pressed a palm between her thighs, and she closed her eyes.

Sinking her teeth into her bottom lip as he stroked a finger through her slit.

He grazed across her clit, and then moved down going toward her pussy.

She let out a little cry as he slid not one but two fingers inside her.

He started to stretch his fingers out, and she clenched her hands into fists as the pleasure rocked through her body.

Knox moved in close and his lips were right against her ear. “I love how tight your pussy is for me, Ava. Tell me, baby, do you want my cock?”

“Yes,” she said, without a second hesitation.

“Then you’re going to have to earn it, baby. I’m going to need to hear you scream.” And he pulled his fingers from her pussy, moving them up to her clit.

She didn’t want him to stop as he started to work her clit.

At the same time, she wanted to feel him inside her.

There was no time to voice a complaint as he worked her clit, sending her higher and higher, until there was no point of return.

She was so close, but Ava didn’t know how to hold back or prolong her release.

She came apart fast and hard, moaning his name, not wanting him to stop.

Even as she wanted him to keep going, Ava knew there was absolutely no chance of that happening, because she came apart so quickly. He pulled his fingers from her pussy, and then he pushed the dress back up to her waist.

The dress was a little on the heavy side, and she had no choice but to grab the hem and pull it up and over her head, letting it fall to the floor. Knox pressed her back to the table, and Ava moved into the position he wanted her, spreading her legs for him, waiting for his next instruction.

She couldn’t help but close her eyes as he ran his fingers all over the curve of her ass. There was a slight moan and she glanced over her shoulder to see him staring at her.

“You’ve got a nice ass.”

Ava gasped as he squeezed the cheeks of her ass in his palms, and then gave it a little wriggle.

He stopped playing with her ass, then she felt the hard press of his cock as he began to sink inside her. Knox was big and wide, and she had no choice but to sink her teeth into her lip as she felt him work his cock inch by inch. From this angle, it felt so different.

She didn’t want him to stop, and at the same time, it was like she didn’t want him to keep going, but her pussy took more of his dick.

She closed her eyes of her own accord as he grabbed her hips and grunted as he pressed that last inch inside her.

His mouth was at her neck, and there was no pain. Just immense pleasure as he filled her.

“I could stay inside this sweet pussy forever,” he said.

She was more than happy for him to stay there.

He continued to tease her neck, taking her higher than she had ever been before, and when he seemed to be pushed to his limit, he then started to pull out of her.

Knox was slow at first, but then he took on a speed all his own, driving them both higher toward that peak.

Knox couldn’t keep his hands off her. Ava was like his own personal drug that he couldn’t seem to say no to, nor did he want to. He was addicted.

Every moan that escaped her lips, he was hungry to hear more. The feel of her body beneath his hands. There was just so much he wanted to experience with her. So much he craved.

The dining room was not the first time. He took her again in the kitchen during lunch, and then out by the pool, in the sitting room, and because he couldn’t resist, he also took her in Marshal’s office.

Each time he fucked her, he expected to slowly lose his desire for her, but he should have known differently. Ava was not like another woman. She was his addiction. The more time he was with her, the better it felt.

After dinner, they were laid on the sofa in the main sitting room, where they had sat for hours just yesterday. Knox had Ava between his thighs, and he teased a strand of her hair, and at the same time, he glanced down at his watch to see it was a little after eight at night.

“What’s wrong?” Ava asked.

He should have known she was a bit of a mind reader.

“Does Marshal usually stay out this late?” Knox asked.

“What time is it?” she asked.

“Just past eight.”

Ava was still between his thighs and she shook her head. “To be honest, he rarely leaves the house. Most of the time he handles business on his cell, or with that thing connected to his ear.”

Knox didn’t like that feeling in his gut.

“What about his lawyer?” Knox asked.

“No, never.”

Ava spun around, her eyes a little wide. “You don’t think anything happened to him?”

He got to his feet and made his way into the kitchen, grabbing his cell phone.

He checked to see if there were any missed calls.

There was nothing. Opening his cell, he pulled up Marshal’s number, and then pressed the “call” button.

Putting it on speaker, he waited, but the cell phone kept ringing. Then, it went to voicemail.

“What if something happened to him?” Ava asked.

“Don’t worry, okay? Let me handle this. Nothing is going to happen to Marshal, I’ve got eyes on him everywhere.” Knox did a quick search. He had put a GPS in the guy’s phone when he agreed to protect the man.

“He’s at the park,” Knox said.
