Chapter 137

Giorgio

Outside The Hospital

Iaimed towards the right of the last SUV –

The impact felt like we were hitting a concrete barrier, but the Mercedes kept going.

I was pretty sure the suspension was toast –

But I was also pretty sure my bosses didn’t give a fuck about the suspension.

As the last second, I slammed on the brakes and cut the wheel hard left.

The Mercedes fishtailed –

And we skidded sideways.

I saw our car’s reflection in the mirrored glass doors –

And then we CRASHED through the glass like we were passing through a waterfall.

There was the mirrored glass –

Then a Camorra thug appeared like magic as the ‘water’ parted.

His shocked face stared at us over the barrel of his assault rifle.

He opened fire –

Then the side of the Mercedes slammed into him, and he went flying backwards onto the floor.

Even before we came completely to a halt, Lars leapt out of the car and aimed at the floor –

BLAM BLAM BLAM!

I guess he got the guy, because there wasn’t any return fire.

“LET’S GO!” Lars yelled.

As Dario jumped out after Lars, I flung open the driver’s door.

The lobby floor was littered with a thousand shards of broken glass and the twisted metal frame of the doorway.

I raced past the body of the Camorra thug, his face a mask of shock as blood poured out of the bullet holes in his forehead.

As I followed Lars and Dario, dozens of civilians stood up from behind a counter to our right –

And roared their approval as we stormed up the stairwell.
