Epilogue

“I now pronounce you husband and wife. Cobra, you may kiss your bride.”

Desiree was not surprised at the thoroughness of the kiss Cobra gave her, nor was she surprised when both of his brothers, who had been his best men, tapped him on the shoulder, gesturing for him to end it.

After the minister said, “I present Cobra and Allison Desiree Masters,” Cobra swept her into his arms and kissed her again as they exited the church.

The wedding reception, held at the Rockefeller Center, had been beautiful.

Desiree appreciated Lolita’s help in recommending the woman who had served as her daughter’s wedding planner.

Desiree had liked Lolita immediately and knew she was just the woman her grandfather needed.

It was obvious he was happy at having a second chance at love.

Richard and Lolita would get married at the end of the year, and she was happy for them. Just before he’d walked her down the aisle, her grandfather had told her how proud he was of her. He’d said that now he had everything—the granddaughter he loved and the grandson of his heart.

The Monday after they’d had their heart-to-heart talk, he’d called Eloise Markam into his office and had given her a choice. She could resign immediately and still receive her pension, or she could be fired and receive nothing. She resigned.

The only reason she gave for her actions was that she felt she knew better than he did, what people would add stress to his life. She felt part of her job was to reduce their access to him. Desiree was glad that her grandfather had seen Eloise for the manipulative woman she was.

Desiree had never been happier in her life. And her and Cobra’s wedding had been beautiful, definitely something she’d look back on with joy. She would be moving into the brownstone with him and looked forward to doing so after they returned from their honeymoon.

Camille and Léandre’s wedding a few months ago in Paris had been beautiful as well.

Camille had made the trip to New York to be Desiree’s matron of honor.

The couple had arrived a week before the wedding to take a tour of the city.

They looked good together, and Camille had told Desiree about the billionaire who would be financing Léandre’s next four productions.

Also, it seemed Léandre’s father had finally seen the light and had decided to let his youngest son live the life he wanted. Mr. Beauchamp had also provided a nice financial backing for future productions. With her clinicals out of the way, Camille intended to open her psychology office.

Desiree glanced around the room. It would soon be time for her and Cobra to go upstairs and get dressed to leave for their honeymoon.

Compliments of her grandfather, they would be spending three weeks at an exclusive resort in the Swiss Alps.

She had added it to her bucket list after Camille had told her how beautiful the area was.

“Ready to begin our honeymoon?” Cobra asked.

“No.”

He lifted a brow. “No?”

“No. I’m ready to begin the rest of our lives together.”

As if not caring that they had an audience of over three hundred guests, he pulled her into his arms and whispered, “I love the way you think, Mrs. Masters.”

He captured her mouth with his, once again reminding her that for them, it had all started with a kiss…
