Chapter 6 Liam
“Good morning, pet,” Ayden said, looking at the documents Liam had dropped in front of him with a curiosity that turned to surprise as he took a sip of his drink. “Thank you for the coffee. Someone’s been doing his homework.”
“Yes. Now you need to do yours as well,” Liam said, tapping the blank list.
Ayden leaned back and pressed his pen to his lip in thought. “I’m a lust demon. No one’s ever asked my preferences before. It’s assumed I like everything.”
“And do you?”
“I don’t dislike anything, but everyone has preferences.”
“Good. Fill it in and tell me.”
“You’re wearing a green shirt.”
“I am. Reminded me of my new bestie.”
Ayden’s smile stretched into something sweeter. “You had a chance to chat with Moss?”
“Yes, you sweet, irritating, interfering demon. Now get to work.”
Shutting the door between them to remove temptation, Liam sat down at his computer and returned to his task of making the Council’s job ticket system play nicely with Monster Mercenaries’ rosters.
Luckily, he’d used a similar platform at his last job, or he’d have been completely lost. Instead, he managed to copy some generic shortcut scripts he’d saved to his personal files and used them to wrangle things into shape.
That, of course, generated a large list of errors and inconsistencies he needed to flag and assign for folks to deal with.
Luckily, the staff intranet was a pretty good resource for figuring out who did what.
He was so focussed on what he was doing that he barely noticed the time passing until Ayden called out for him.
“Liam, darling?”
As he stood to go lean in the open doorway to Ayden’s office, he realised he hadn’t thought once about finding a way out of the city since he woke that morning. Even before that, if he was honest.
“Yeah, boss?” Liam replied.
“I’ve had three requests for your hand in marriage in the last hour, and demons don’t even do marriage. Care to explain?”
“Uh… they’re not serious, right?” Liam asked, peering back over his shoulder towards the rest of their basement office as he shifted on his feet. He’d met most of the other demons who worked there now, but none of them interested him the way Ayden did.
Ayden cracked up laughing, and a voice called from the distance. “Not after the boss’s reply!”
Liam tilted his head in question, and Ayden gestured for him to come look at his computer screen.
The incubus’s eyes tracked his progress as he crossed the room.
He may as well have been naked for the way his boss was checking him out.
Liam feigned indifference, but knew Ayden had already clocked the growing bulge in his pants.
As he watched, Ayden’s tongue flicked out to wet his lips, and his nostrils flared.
Oh, right. He fed on lust and desire. Ayden didn’t even need to look at his erection to know he was horny.
He was getting what he needed just from Liam’s dirty thoughts.
Something about that was very satisfying.
He wanted to be the one who gave Ayden everything he needed.
The demon didn’t make it easy for him to keep things G-rated.
He’d only pushed his chair out just enough for Liam to squeeze between his legs to see the screen.
As he stepped around the corner of the desk, Ayden’s tail flicked out to touch him, coiling gently up his leg to tease at his inner thigh.
The move had him shuddering with memories of what they’d done together there.
“Behave,” Liam murmured as he leaned forward to read.
“Why?” Ayden asked, sounding genuinely curious.
Liam huffed a breath and ignored the question to click through to an email Ayden had sent to all his staff only five minutes earlier. The subject line read: He’s mine. There wasn’t any other text.
“This is ridiculous. I’m not an object.” But fuck did it feel nice for someone to claim him as theirs.
“Of course not, pet.”
“I’m not a pet, either.”
“You don’t like when I stroke you and feed you?”
Liam spun around and grabbed one of Ayden’s horns in a tight fist to force his head to tilt up and look at him.
He was only meaning to tease, but the demon’s eyes rolled back in his head, and his hips jerked up from his chair.
His low moan of need was definitely audible at the other end of the office because several wolf whistles rang out until Ayden waved his hand in their general direction and the door slammed shut, cutting off all sound.
“Oops,” Liam whispered, entranced by the vision of pleasure the incubus in front of him presented.
Unable to resist, he reached out and grabbed the other horn as well, stroking them both like he would a cock as he watched the bulge in Ayden’s pants grow, and grow, and then grow some more.
He’d be alarmed if he weren’t such a size queen.
Instead, his mouth started watering. There was an idea.
Leaning forward, he nuzzled Ayden’s temple before pressing a kiss to the place where one of his horns met his scalp.
“Fuck yes, pet. Play with them,” Ayden gasped.
Emboldened by his words, Liam traced up the smooth, black length of the horn with the softest touch of his tongue until he reached the point that was sharp enough to pierce it.
Then he retraced the path his teasing licks had taken, blowing cold air across the trail he’d left.
Ayden moaned, grabbing his hips to pull him closer.
“More.”
“Do you have any ice? As hot as your body runs, I bet it would feel amazing.”
“You have the best ideas, but you’ll have to venture to the staff kitchen if you want ice, so be prepared for the reaction you’re going to get.”
“I don’t care. They can even watch if they want. So long as they don’t touch.”
“Marry me.”
Liam threw his head back and laughed. “I thought your kind didn’t go in for marriage.”
“For you, I think I might do anything,” Ayden whispered, holding his gaze.
The moment was interrupted by the buzz of a phone. Taking pity on his boss, Liam released his horn and reached out to answer the call on speaker. The caller didn’t wait for a greeting.
“Ayden, a weird package just appeared at reception addressed to the company. There’s something off about it.”
The pleasure on Ayden’s face turned to predatory focus in an instant, and he gently moved Liam aside. “I’ll be right there.”
