18. Chapter Eighteen

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

EZRA

E zra stared at her in shock. He thought he had been showing that he loved her, and she was his. But apparently, he was doing a bad job at that because she didn’t know. Where was he going wrong?

He thought by telling her he wanted to help her figure out if she was a Little, giving her pleasure, and making love to her showed he wanted to be with her. Deep down he knew he should have flat out told her in the beginning that he wanted to be with her, but he’d figured all those incidents would show her.

He cupped her face with his hands. “I want you. I want you to be mine, and I’m helping you because I’ve seen that you have a Little side inside of you. Other people have as well. I want to show you that you don’t have to do everything by yourself. You can lean on people and let people take control. You can relax and enjoy life instead of working constantly and never taking any breaks. ”

She shook her head and tried to pull away, but he wouldn’t let her.

“Even after you figure out if you’re really a Little, which I think you are, I still want you. Even if you think you aren’t a Little, I’m still going to want you,” he said. “I shouldn’t have let you go all those years ago, and I regret it every single day of my life.”

That was the truth. If he could go back in time, he would, and he would have told her his secret so she would stay with him. Then they would have had so much time together as a married couple instead of best friends.

All he did was make mistakes, again and again. When was he going to learn and make things right, make her not doubt about things?

One of the things was that the past few weeks she had this on her mind, thinking he was only doing this to help her and then he was going to drop her. If he could go back in time, he would change that.

There wasn’t much he regretted in his life, and while he was sorry he hadn’t told her in the beginning that he wanted her, he still would go back in time and tell her. He hadn’t wanted to make her feel as if she had to hide her feelings, and yet he had.

“Why did you wait so long?” she asked.

He inhaled deeply. “I didn’t want to push you. I kept being a Daddy Dom a secret because it was new to me. During that time, I was trying to figure out if I really was a Daddy Dom or not. I didn’t know how to bring it up to you. Part of me was worried if I told you, you wouldn’t want anything to do with me anymore.” Ezra grabbed her hands and gave them a gentle squeeze. “It was a risk not telling you because you could have broken up with me and never wanted to speak to me again. It was a dumb risk, and I shouldn’t have taken it because we missed out on so many years together as a couple.”

She shrugged. “Fair point.”

Ezra felt bad because he had put her in a difficult position—a position he hadn’t realized until she brought it up. How could he be so blind to it? How had he missed it?

“I should have told you a couple years after we broke up. I should have told you when I figured it out. There was no reason for me to wait this long. Maybe I just wanted to make sure that you were actually a Little or would be okay with it. Well, that’s not true. I just didn’t know how to bring it up to you or when the right time was. I still love you. I always have.”

“I love you too,” she whispered. “And I really do love being Little around you but it’s a lot of work. Always taking care of me. I mean, what do you get in return? Should I be doing something?”

“It’s not work. I get to take care of you. It fulfills my needs, and I enjoy it.”

Maylee snuggled into his chest, and he held her tighter. They were still on the bathroom floor, but he didn’t care.

“How about we go color for a little while?” he asked.

She gripped his shirt, and he slowly ran his hand up and down her back.

“You’re okay. I’ll be right next to you the whole time,” he whispered. “How about you sit on my lap while we color.”

“Okay.”
