Nero had it bad. The demon always got big crushes on powerful women and most of them always thought he was a piece of shit just because he was an incubus. Sydney wasn’t like that and she let him unleash a part of himself that was forbidden in Hell.

Fuck, I also had it bad and Kujo definitely did, even if he was hiding it.

If he disliked her as much as he professed, he wouldn’t have insisted on sleeping on the couch in her bedroom and making sure she ate breakfast. If he actually disliked her, he wouldn’t have fed her, much less had the kitchen cook his favorite foods to show her the best of Hell.

He got enough for all of us because he gave a shit about us too.

He even got enough for Wrathhog, so he wasn’t being completely rude.

I wasn’t sure if Wrathhog and Satan ate like this, but their servants would have, It was basically a meat patty that was half beef, half pork belly, topped with three cheeses, and a fried egg served on an onion bun.

The fries were just potatoes, but there was a special blend they were seasoned with and topped with melted cheese.

One of Lilith’s original incubi read her desires and came up with the white chocolate split. I didn’t think there was a single person in Hell who didn’t like it, though it was a special occasion kind of dessert if you weren’t rich.

Nero had this thing about watching women enjoy food. He’d probably be pumping lust all through this room if he was the one who arranged this meal because I knew what her sex noises sounded like and she was making those while she ate.

And Kujo looked way too pleased with himself for a demon who professed to dislike her.

I could have watched her eat all day, but Satan came in with demons I didn’t know.

“They came to Lucifer’s, and the servants sent them here. Did you ask my brothers’ servants to spy on them, Sydney?”

“That’s going to entirely depend on how much the idea pisses you off.”

“It’s more how much it’s going to piss my brothers off if they catch them. They will make an example of them.”

“From what I’m told, your idiot brothers are entitled pigeons who think their servants aren’t actual people and they have to clean it up when they are in the mood to trash their mansions. Bold of you to think they even pay attention to them.”

She was mostly right about that. They didn’t notice us until they noticed us. For the most part, you never wanted their eyes on you if you were a lower demon.

“Um, hello, Mister Satan,” a Canid demon said, raising her hand like we were back in school. “We know how to not be seen by them. If they see one of us when they are in a mood, they hurt us instead of breaking their things. Sometimes, they get annoyed just looking at us.”

“I’m sorry. I don’t know what’s gotten into them. It shouldn’t be like that for you,” Satan said.

Yeah, it was easy for him to say that, but it was his family so he should probably do more than just apologize. Of course, none of us were going to say what we were thinking to the Prince of Wrath.

“You could do something about your brothers instead of constantly apologizing for them,” Sydney said.

Of course, she was going to say something. That was why we all liked her. The Canid demon cleared her throat and immediately changed the subject because I was guessing she didn’t want to see Sydney hurt while her wings were fragile.

“Asmodeus is meeting with the other princes in his secret rooms where we can’t go. Not all at once. They come one at a time with enough time between the meetings that they wouldn’t know another one of them was there. He’s met with all the princes except Satan and Abaddon.”

Could we start looking at him as a suspect now? Because we kept saying he was giving off vibes and Satan kept saying it couldn’t be him.
