Chapter 14 Tyreek Jr
“Baby, I thought you said we were going to spend the day together. I came over here to cook and everything.”
Rolling my eyes, I listened to Lisa bitch about us not spending time together.
After seeing JJ earlier, I wasn’t in the mood to do shit but come home.
I’d only told Lisa she could come over because I wanted some pussy.
Now that she’d swallowed all my nut, she was dismissed, but I knew getting her out of my house was going to be an issue.
Lisa was the clingiest chick I’d ever fucked with.
She thought she held rank in my life since I’d let her play the role as if she were my girl.
The joke was on her ass because once Blossom and I got married, all these hoes would be cut off.
“Lisa, I have shit to do, so I don’t have time for this,” I stated, tone flat and voice low.
I sighed, walking over to pull her jacket off the coatrack and tossing it to her.
Today was my day off from work, and I had plans to pull up on Blossom.
She hadn’t been fucking with me since the incident at the gala, and I needed us to get past that shit.
If she thought I was going to step aside and let JJ have his way, she and he were horribly mistaken.
The day I killed those McKnights, I was throwing a party, and JJ was the first one on my list.
I frowned down at Lisa’s pouty face as she held her coat, not moving. That pouting shit was cute when my girl did it to get her way, but Lisa was nothing like my baby.
“You know I’m a busy man, and I shouldn’t have to explain what’s understood. I appreciate the dinner, but you need to leave.”
“Oh, I’m good enough for you to fuck, but I’m not good enough to get anything else?
” She folded her arms and mugged me, ignoring the fact that I was walking her back toward the door.
“How would the little real estate agent feel about all this?
If she knew her man was just balls deep inside of me, unprotected at that?
How about I just tell her! I swear, I hope she gets a new nigga—"
Clenching my teeth together, I tried to calm myself from snapping her neck.
Granted, I hated Blossom’s job because she was good at what she did, and a paid woman who didn’t need for anything usually couldn’t submit fully to a man.
However, what I hated the most was that so many niggas had access to her.
She was a beautiful woman who met a lot of people during the networking she did.
It was nothing for one of them with more money to come in and make moves on her.
I knew she was not moved by shit like that because she had her own, but the thought still bothered me.
Then knowing JJ had his sights on her pissed me off even more.
I could have killed that nigga for putting his hands on me the night of the gala.
My jaw was so swollen, I thought the shit was dislocated.
Blossom called Stacy to come get her that night, and that shit infuriated me because that funky bitch was always talking shit about me to my girl.
I asked Blossom repeatedly if she and JJ had anything going on, but my questions were met with snarky responses before she stopped taking my calls altogether.
If I ever found out some foul shit was going on behind my back, she was dying with him.
“Let me make something clear.” My eyes turned inward as I backed her into the door.
“Watch your muthafuckin’ mouth when you speak on my girl.
I treat you like a fuck because that’s all you are.
” Gripping the front of her neck, I squeezed it firmly, causing her fair complexion to turn beet red.
“Don’t think that mediocre pussy is enough to keep me from snapping your fuckin’ neck, Lisa.
If I ever find out you’ve said anything about this to my girl, I will kill you.
Now get the fuck out!” I pushed her head into the door as I removed my hands from her neck.
The tears now streaming down her face didn’t move me one bit.
“Don’t make me tell you again,” I stated, my voice now cold as I turned to grab her purse and keys.
Snatching the items from me, she yanked the door open but was startled by the figure that was standing in the doorway. Looking from me to him, she said nothing as she stormed past him and down the driveway toward her car.
“Well, someone is mad…” Rowan chuckled as he strolled into my home. Walking into my living room, he stuck his nose in the air and sniffed lightly. “She cooked?”
“What do you want, Rowan?” I slammed my door, crossing my arms and mugging him. “I should beat your ass for the shit you pulled the other night. You’re lucky I’ve been too busy trying to make shit right with my girl and haven’t had time to handle you the way I want.”
Row and I had been boys way before I started dealing with his sister. I knew all about his habits and the activities he was into, but it was never my place to judge him. I thought he and I had an understanding of minding our business when it came to the other person, but obviously, I was wrong.
“Man, you can’t be tripping about that shit too hard.
You just had a baddie run up outta here.
” He chuckled as I followed him into my kitchen.
He was really about to sit down and eat my food like he hadn’t tried to ruin my relationship a few nights ago.
“Blossom ain’t going no damn where. I’m just the drunken disappointment that no one takes seriously. ”
“I don’t want to hear any of that drunk shit you’re talking about.
” I snatched the paper plate from him before he could fix some of the chicken and rice.
“You need to get your shit together because you’re going out sad.
Not only are you ruining your life, but your family's. If it wasn’t for your father calling in a favor to the captain, your ass would have been arrested. ”
The night of the Governor’s Gala, Rowan had pissed some very important people off with his ranting and raving.
Blossom knocking him on his ass was a shock to us all, but even I was thankful that she had.
The captain had called me that night since he knew I was on the scene, but by then, I had left, trying to follow up behind my girl.
From what I’d heard, the governor was pissed but assured the partygoers everything was okay.
I’d known him and been around this family long enough to know it was anything but fine.
I didn’t know if he had said anything to Rowan about his actions yet, but I was sure he was going to.
“Listen… I didn’t come over here to argue with you, bruh.” He stumbled backward, holding onto the counter. His eyes were glazed over, his nostrils were flared, and sweat was forming above his brows.
“Are you high?” I frowned in disgust. “This is why you need to lay off that shit, man. You can’t control yourself when you’re under the influence, and it’s the people that’s around you who suffer from it. Blossom—”
“Fuck Blossom!” he bellowed, catching me off guard.
“It’s always Blossom this, Blossom that!
” He slapped his hand on the counter repeatedly.
“Had Blossom helped me when I asked her to, I wouldn’t be in the situation I’m in now.
She’s a selfish bitch, and she deserves everything that’s coming her way! ”
Placing my hand on the service weapon attached to my waist, I eyed him as he continued to pace the floor and talk to himself.
I’d seen him fly off the rocker a few times, but it was nothing like this.
Either Rowan was high on something stronger than his usual drug of choice, or he had lost his last brain cell.
“Y’all think she’s just so perfect! You, my father, everyone!” he yelled.
“Man, what the fuck are you even talking about?” I asked, confused. “That girl loves you and helps you more than she should have to. What do you mean it’s her fault you’re in the situation you’re in? What have you done now?”
“I didn’t come over here to talk about her, TJ.
” He stopped pacing in front of my dining table and eyed me.
He grabbed at his unkept hair before dropping down on the nearest barstool.
“I’m in bed with some dangerous people, and I need to pay over two hundred grand in a week, or they’re going to kill me.
” He peered up at me with wide eyes. “I’m in debt with Dame because of a tab I ran up.
Not only that, but I also haven’t been able to get in touch with Chris.
” He looked up at me with pleading eyes.
“We need to hit another lick or find Chris and flip the dope he has left. You have to help me!”
“Aight man, relax.”
I placed my hand on Rowan’s shoulder, taking a seat beside him at the island.
All thoughts of Blossom were put on the back burner as I looked over at the glossy eyes of her brother.
I didn’t know much about the Chris nigga, but if he was gone off the radar, that led me to believe Uncle Jay had found him.
“I will help you as best as I can…” I stared off for a minute because deep down I was nervous as hell. “Grab a bite to eat, and get your shit together, Row. We’re going to find Chris and come up with another plan. This time, we’re going to take everything they own.”
“Good morning, Detective Hines,” Stephanie greeted me when I stepped inside the precinct. “How are you doing today?”
“Good, now that I see you’re doing your job instead of fraternizing.” I smiled back at her, causing hers to drop. Propping up against her desk, I handed her the coffee I’d stopped and gotten her this morning. “Anything interesting going on?”
