Chapter 28 Holly
HOLLY
We’re free. We’re away. We’re safe.
I still couldn’t quite believe it. Even as the glowing indigo power dissipated around us in purplish wisps like fog.
All I heard from the ship’s network was static, but to be safe, I tapped Terroar on our grid.
:Go ahead and firewall us back off and destroy any remaining connections that might exist.:
:Already done.: He hesitated a moment. Then added, :Holly.:
Though I had a feeling that wasn’t what he’d wanted to say.
He’d wanted to call me mate.
I snuck a quick glance up at Syko to gauge his reaction.
Midnight blue sparked with deep purple, still glowing with remnants of his jump.
His mind spiraled in a slow, seemingly lazy ring like the sweeping black hole I’d felt him unleash on the ship.
Crushing power. Inescapable gravity. Furious intensity.
He could obliterate his competition with his mind alone. Simply crush them all like a tin can. Deep down, yeah, he wanted to unleash all the pent-up rage his imprisonment had stoked. Go on a rampage like a mindless, furious alpha and tear them all apart.
But he wouldn’t.
For one simple reason. In case one of them might mean something more to me than just another dynos I’d rescued from captivity.
He set me down on my feet, though both he and Rekt still touched me as if afraid I might disappear at any second.
“There’s an easy way for us to tell who should stay, and who should enjoy their freedom moonside.
” Syko drawled out in a low, silky voice that vibrated with menace.
“But I’m going to have to be inside you first.”
My heart rate accelerated as fast as Chonk had darted off into another hallway each time we saw an agent. But then Syko’s words made me look around. Moonside? Where…
Stunned, I tried to look everywhere at once.
We stood on a curving kidney-shaped platform beneath a glass dome.
With views of clouds below. As if we orbited a planet.
Low melodic sounds played but it wasn’t a song or even an instrument I’d never heard before.
Shining gold lined the huge glass dome stretched overhead, and the floor seemed to be white marble with more specks of shimmering gold and silver.
The largest sofa I’d ever seen in my life wrapped around the curves of the platform in dark plush fabric.
Room for all fifteen dyni to mill around, sit, or…
Jump into the winding river for a refreshing swim? Crystal blue waters flowed and shimmered at the edge of the white marble platform, making it look like we could just swim off into the clouds or space beyond.
I turned around, gaping even more. Behind us, brightly lit stairs arched upward to multiple higher decks with gleaming balconies of white and gold.
Large green trees and tropical-looking flowers softened all the marble.
But I couldn’t begin to categorize the plants.
Blue-green and silver spiky leaves, soft lavender blossoms, huge glowing white gossamer petals. Absolutely incredible.
“Where are we?”
“The Sirius Galactic Syndicate’s favorite playground.”
Gulp. I was hoping to get far away from anything related to or controlled by DSC. “So we’re still in Sirian space?”
“We’re nowhere near Sirius though they’ve claimed this system along with hundreds of others.
We’re on the outer realms of the Draco constellation in a forbidden area controlled by the ultra-rich, most powerful syndicate running this side of the known galaxy.
This ship is now yours, which means you have exclusive rights to the moon below.
There are eight other moons orbiting the main planet, each controlled by some other Sirian family. ”
“Snyder’s controller had access inside HQ. Which means he’s probably filthy rich and Sirian too, right? Could he control one of these other moons?”
Syko shrugged. “Even if he did, he’d never know we’re here.
These people are so powerful they own an entire moon and a controlling interest in the planet itself, which supplies all of the luxury ships orbiting the area.
They’re so wealthy and powerful that no one can afford to betray them.
No one would dare question them or snoop around their moon for fear not just their family but their entire species would be obliterated in the blink of an eye. ”
Rekt let out a low whistle. “How’d you know about this place? Let alone acquire it.”
“I may have only been engineered a few months ago but my databanks are fully intact. I remember everything the previous BGR and BGR+ cells were ever taught in various iterations. The scientist who created the BGR++ iteration did so at the behest of one of the primary syndicate families as a personal favor to indulge one of their bright young people’s interest in Dynosauros Command.
Every test and failure in every Sirian cell they used—and all associated knowledge—is written into my DNA. ”
“Acquiring anything in the universe is just a matter of knowing the appropriate frequencies and—” Terroar started to say but then coughed lightly. “Never mind.”
A low growl rumbled from Syko, though I didn’t sense aggression from him on the grid.
“Let’s test the frequencies now. Anyone not interested in sticking around can step onto the tiled ring and transport directly to the moon.
” He indicated a blue mosaic ring laid into the white marble on the opposite side of the platform.
“There’s plenty of good hunting and dense forest below. ”
“Any other mates?” Webb asked.
“Nothing compatible with dyni.”
Giving me a long, considering look, Webb finally nodded. “I think I’ll port moonside. No offense, Holly, but after the look on your face in the training chamber when you saw my beast, I’d rather not scare you like that again.”
“I’m sorry.” I winced. “I’m scared of spiders.”
He shrugged. “Nothing personal. I can’t control how I was engineered. If you know of another female who isn’t scared of arachnids, buzz me on the grid.”
Akylla, maybe? Though she was just a baby. Granted, a dynos-hybrid who’d been growing exponentially faster than any human child. I’d have to talk to Natalie first, and her baby girl had a lot of growing up to do. But it was a possibility.
Webb strode over to the tiled circle. Blue jump light flared upward and he disappeared. So freaking cool.
A couple of others followed him, though I lost my train of thought when Syko wrapped his fingers around the base of my neck and steered me toward the sofa.
My body went on instant overload. The weight of his hand.
The strength of his fingers. The ferocity of his alpha will.
I’d never been a “yes, sir,” kind of girl but it was so fucking hot to have him take control. Of me. The squad. Whatever.
Though I couldn’t help but protest a little before I lost the ability to rub two brain cells together. “Shouldn’t we clean up first? I fell in a hole, so I know I’m filthy.” Not to mention Rekt had climaxed on my leg. And I’d been squirming all over the raptor’s back…
“I’m a predator,” Syko said, his voice so bass my bones vibrated. “I like smells. I especially like your smells.” He sat down on the sofa and pulled me to stand between his splayed thighs. “Though I’m not sure whether I want to take a nice juicy bite or fuck you first.”
His cock was just as intimidatingly huge as I remembered.
Though now that I could see him with my own eyes, it was even more terrifying.
Hot, but yeah. I had no idea how he’d managed to get inside me before.
Milky green cum oozed from the tip in a steady drip.
Droplets scattered across his thighs and up his stomach.
A lot of cum. Like I would have thought he’d blown a full load by the amount.
I swayed, lightheaded. That shouldn’t be so fucking hot. Should it? All that cum. So messy.
A moan escaped my lips.
“I know, mate of mine. I feel it too.” Though all he did was tuck my hair back behind my ear. His thumb lightly grazed my cheekbone. My lips. I opened immediately, catching his thumb on my tongue before he could drop his hand.
My brain tried to be repulsed. Red flag. Hand sanitizer? A bar of soap? Who knew when he’d ever been able to wash in that cell.
But the taste of his skin wiped away all rational thought. I gripped him with my teeth, biting down when he started to withdraw. I licked the pad of his thumb and wished it was his dick.
Even messy. Even huge.
I wanted to taste him.
He gripped my chin with his other hand, his fingers digging into my cheeks until I let go of his thumb.
“Later, absolutely. I’ll endure whatever torment you wish to inflict.
But it’s only fair to the rest of the squad that we settle your picks sooner than later so they can get on with enjoying their freedom. ”
So why did he firmly turn me around?
Ten dyni stared at me. Several of them were slobbering with hunger. Literally.
Then I lost the ability to think. Because Syko lifted me onto his knees, my legs draped over his. He gripped my shoulder in his teeth and let out a low, endless rumble. Vibrations danced down my nerves, making me twitch and resonate, invisible strings plucked and strummed. All the way to my core.
He wrapped his palm around my pussy, the same way he’d gripped my neck earlier. The base of his palm pressed firmly on my pubic bone. His fingers slipped inside me effortlessly. No fumbling. No pulling skin. Because I was wet to my knees and hadn’t even realized it.
Until he touched me.
Rekt took a step toward us, and Syko snarled at him around a mouthful of my shoulder. The medic lifted his hands, palm out, but didn’t back up. “You asked me about controlling rut. The sooner I can administer a blocker, the better. I already gave some to Chonk.”
:Fine,: Syko said on the grid. :But if you try to touch her, you’re losing a limb.:
:Acknowledged.:
Rekt approached cautiously, extending one of his implements out ahead of him. Syko continued snarling at him despite his words on the grid, and realization dawned.
He’s not joking.
Quivers rippled through my stomach. Unease. Dread. Upset. I didn’t want anyone to get hurt.
:I won’t hurt anyone once I’m knotted inside you. Until then, no one’s safe but you.:
My brain hiccupped and bounced like a game of hot potato. Knotted. Again. I’d kind of blacked out in the cell, but when the agent tried to pull me out, he’d nearly dragged out all of my insides. At least that’s what it’d felt like.
Because Syko had been knotted inside me then.
This time, I’d be fully aware.
Plus we had an attentive audience. Though to be fair, I was pretty sure Snyder had been avidly watching then, too, at least as much as they could record. Ugh. So not helping.
Evidently Rekt completed his scan or whatever and backed away just as carefully. Though his eyes met mine, heavy. Dark. Intense. :I’m monitoring your safety and will intervene if necessary, regardless of the danger.:
Which told me more than anything else exactly how dangerous this situation must be.
As cautiously as the medic had approached, I shifted my focus to Syko on the grid.
At first, all I really sensed was his brilliant purple-blue power spilling over into everything.
Intense, dark, but not scary. I mentally waded through those waves, searching for him.
His essence. The core of his being. The part of him he’d shared with me in the cell.
Though even in that brief interaction, he’d kept most of his thoughts contained.
Protecting himself from me, so I’d assumed.
His power thickened, an inky swirling vortex dragging me under.
Rage like nothing I’d ever experienced before.
Violence gnawed and whispered in every corner of his mind.
Hatred. Retribution. Imploding the ship only whet his appetite for more destruction.
His fingers and teeth tightened on me, as if I was the only anchor available.
The only sane thought in his inner world.
:You saved me,: he whispered. :You save me still.:
