AVIANA
Chapter Thirteen
“You can crash on the couch for another night or so, but you can’t stay here Avi. I have a husband and you have a type. My niece will always have a room here, but you on the other hand…”
“Jamilla you and Kenny aren’t married for one, and two, what happened to never living with a nigga? Seems to me like you’ve had a change of heart.”
Hendrix threw me and my child on the streets and because of that, everyone was looking at me shaking their heads and getting the last laugh. I used to talk about the money he had and how he took care of us but somehow, I was on the other side and had absolutely nothing. I was the bum friend now.
Woods would’ve been my back up plan, but he was married and that blew me because I slept at his house before and never noticed a woman’s touch.
Hell, as much as he was up my ass, people thought I was his woman for real.
I was confused on where the fuck the wife came from.
He ate my ass every chance he got and that was daily.
“What is that supposed to mean?” I questioned with my face screwed up.
“You had a man that was a hundred percent dedicated to you and that little girl but decided to step out on him because he got busy. Kenny was ready for me, but I wasn’t and that was the only thing slowing us down. I took him seriously when he bought me this house and proposed.”
She held up her hand and revealed her ring. We were best friends, and she didn’t say a word about her engagement. Maybe she really wasn’t rocking with me the way I thought.
“When did this happen and why wouldn’t you tell me?”
“A couple of weeks ago and because you’re never happy for anyone in your life.
Why would I tell you all for my moment to be ruined with your negativity?
Let’s be real Aviana, we aren’t real friends and I realized that.
We were just two bitches in competition with each other.
I can’t lie and say you ain’t motivate me at times because you did.
I used to think I wanted the life you had but baby I’ll take my quiet life with Kenny any day. ”
“Tuh. Yeah, right. Once he finds out that you were on another dick not too long ago, he’ll walk too,” I threw back trying not to be the only one in the wrong.
“He knows. I told him and we moved past it, hence the house I’m standing in. He claimed he wasn’t letting me go for shit and I believed him. I may be ratchet or ghetto, but that nigga loves the ground I walk on.”
“Him loving a hoe is crazy to me. I have got to ask him this shit myself.”
“You won’t have the chance to. I’m glad I finally realized that you want everyone either beneath you or in misery with you. That won’t happen here. I wish you the best of luck Aviana.”
She grabbed my duffle bag and carried it to the door.
She was putting me out knowing I had nowhere to go.
If I could take back every word I said, I would.
Akeera was at my sister’s, but she made it clear that I wasn’t welcomed at her home with her baby daddy.
They could ask me for money but denied me shelter because of their men. That was mind blowing to me.
I knew coming to Jamilla I would have a roof over my head, but she was shutting me out as well. I figured the day would come eventually because I treated her horribly. I did certain things that made her feel bad or to make her jealous and it was coming back to bite me in the ass.
“Where am I supposed to go JaJa? I have no money right now. Hendrix turned my cards off and I’m being rejected by my sister.”
She walked past me and returned a few seconds later with her wallet in tow. She fished out a few hundred dollars and shoved them into my chest. I was in shock at how she was behaving.
“Here. That should be enough to grant you a room for at least a week. Call us even. Now, please leave my home before my husband gets here. He doesn’t really care for you.”
“Are you serious right now? After all the shit I’ve done for you, you gon’ put me out. I helped you get your first place, and this is the thanks I get. You really ain’t shit, Jamilla.”
“Yeah, you’ve told me that every chance you got and bitch the last thing I want is a muthafucka around me that don’t appreciate me. Bye.”
She opened her door and threw my bag out of it.
I was supposed to follow suit, but I couldn’t without getting my rocks off first. I hit her dead in her shit, and we got to banging right there.
It wasn’t her fault that Hendrix left me high and dry, but she could’ve been more of a friend than she was. I expected more.
We got to tussling in her doorway but was quickly separated when I was thrown to the ground. I looked up into the face of Kenny and he wasn’t pleased with what he saw.
“Bitch ass nigga keep your fuckin’ hands off me. This is between me and my friend!” I shouted.
“Bitch, fuck you. My woman ain’t shit to your goofy ass. I advise you to get the fuck off my property before it becomes an issue for real,” he said with the meanest mug on his face. I could tell he had no problem with putting his hands on me.
“Jamilla this is the nigga you choosing over me?” I yelled stumbling to get off the ground. Kenny threw me down pretty hard.
She said nothing as she headed further inside and left me alone with Kenny. That didn’t last long at all because he was slamming the door in my face seconds later. I was down bad, and now I felt like I needed to bring everyone down with me. She was right about me wanting everyone in misery with me.
I was finally on my feet and grabbing my bag off the ground. I threw it in my backseat and hopped in the front with one destination. Coppins and Woody were my last resort. It was time for him to keep his word when he said he would always look out for me.
The entire drive there, the only thing that was on a constant loop was Hendrix’s words saying Woods was married and to Portia at that. Like what was the fuckin’ odds that I was messing with her husband and going into business with her as well. Karma was out to get me real bad.
When I pulled up to his house, I saw that Portia’s car was in the driveway, so I decided to shoot him a text letting him know I was outside and needed to talk to him.
I parked in front of his neighbors so that I wouldn’t be so obvious.
He responded almost immediately telling me he would be right out.
I sat and began to scroll through social media while waiting.
What I wasn’t expecting was to be pulled out of my car minutes later not knowing what was going on. I could barely walk because I was being dragged into the street.
“You been fuckin’ my husband bitch? So, was coming to me as a partner to play in my face or what? ‘Cause obviously you and him got me fucked up.”
“Portia, I didn’t know he was married. When I met him, he said he was single. As many times as I’ve been to this house, I saw no traces of you. I wasn’t trying to be spiteful.”
“That’s hard to believe. Don’t you have a family of your own? Why the fuck are you down here bothering mine? And the fact that you knew I was here and still demanded attention from him is wild to me. What the hell is your problem Aviana?”
She was yelling at the top of her lungs and in my face.
The drama I was experiencing was bringing in extra eyes.
Their neighbors were beginning to come out of the house and see the show.
The embarrassment was growing by the second, but I wasn’t about to allow her to talk to me any kind of way either.
“You’re mad at me for some shit your nigga did to you. You better get the hell out of my face with that bullshit. Matter of fact, go get your husband and tell him I said I need some fuckin’ money,” I spat.
“I suggest you leave from in front of my house before something bad happens to you. I just got out of the military sweetheart. Don’t make the mistake of thinking I’ll let anything go lightly.”
Her words brought fear upon me, but I wasn’t going to let her see it. I was desperate and Woods had the funds I needed to get somewhere safe. It was what it was with Portia.
“Girl, fuck you.” I left her where she stood and made my way into their yard. Woods was standing in the doorway watching it all happen. “I need some money Fazio.”
“Aye man, whatever the fuck we had going on is a dub. Get the hell away from my crib before I give her permission to do what she needs to,” he voiced unbothered by what I requested.
“All that money I spent on you and you’re fixing your lips to tell me no.”
“Ain’t nobody tell you to trick off. I appreciate it though because I was able to start my bar. I saved so much money with you.” He smirked and that threw me over the edge.
I was in another city acting a plum fool, but I was doing what I had to because no one was in my corner. Hendrix was laid up under flubber and Woods was putting Portia above me when I’ve been the one people considered as their woman. I was having a hard time adjusting to being left.
Cocking my head to the side, I nodded and headed for the area where he had stones surrounding their pond.
Picking one up, I sent it through the back of Portia’s car.
By this time, the crazy had activated out of embarrassment and being brushed off like he wasn’t telling me how much he loved me.
I picked up another and sent it through his window.
I didn’t stop there either. Another one went through the front door with another following suit through another window. I was pissed.
“All I needed was a few racks, but you can spend that on getting y’all shit fixed.”
Turning around, I walked past Portia and to my car. I was going to make do with what I had and hope to find another gullible nigga.
Pulling off, I saw Portia pull out behind me. She wasn’t going to let what I did go and that was a warning I didn’t heed. My foot pressed the gas a little more allowing my car to pick up speed.
“The fuck is you following me for!” I screamed out as if she could hear me.
I was extremely frightened because I didn’t truly know Portia and speaking that she was in the military, there was no telling how many marbles she was missing. I knew that kind of career fucked with you mentally.
She sped up and rammed the back of my car which let me know she was on some other shit.
She didn’t care about hurting either one of us as long as I ended up in pain.
She rammed me once more and I swerved more than I wanted to.
That carried on until we were out of the neighborhood and on the main road.
Because I was afraid to stop, I ran into oncoming traffic and was hit immediately.
Karma sure knew how to get revenge.
