Chapter 12
Double surprise ??
I am going to my office now in my car, I took a my driver. I was not in a mood to drive today.
After coming back from Destiny house, I slept and woke up late on the next day because it was Sunday. I just worked out for a while and then started working in my office room in my home. Melissa had already cooked the food and left. I spent my day just like that.
Now that Destiny is here, I have to do something so that she can come back to me. I have to talk to her. It's been a long time. I haven't even thought about any other woman than her.
I think I should make her to come with me for lunch and then we can talk. If she won't accept then I will play the card of boss and employee.
My driver reached the building. He stopped at the entrance, got out and opened my door. I got out and made my way towards the elevator.
After few minutes I reached my floor. I started moving towards my office. I looked at Destiny's desk to see her looking at the file. 'It must be my schedule'. And Alexis must have said few things to her before she left.
Yesterday I called Alexis and asked her to arrange a desk infront of my office for Destiny. 'I want her to be close to me'.
It seems like the job is done. I think hearing my footsteps she looked up. I stood infront of her desk and she got up. I told her to come to my office.
After she came, she greeted me and gave my schedule. I started talking to her by looking at my schedule. When I said her salary, I saw from the corner of eyes that she seemed shocked about it. But she came to her normal self before I looked at her.
I checked her out, she was looking cute in her outfit. She wore a decent dress that didn't reveal much. She doesn't even know, I checked her out. I was keeping my face blank while speaking to her.
She went to pick the boxes. My heart started scolding me.
'Why the hell did you not greet her back '
'I have a better plan for that' my mind said.
When she went towards the door to go out, I quickly followed her. When the door was about to close, I stopped it and stood infront of her. She looked up at me.
I said "And Miss Walker I forgot one thing" I leaned towards her left ear, I can smell her sweet scent. 'She still smell the same' and whispered "Good morning princess and you look cute in that outfit" with that I can inside my office closing the door.
I smirked at my action. I love to tease her. I started working, after a few minutes she bought my coffee and went back to her work. After few hours Destiny reminded me about the meeting. I went to it.
The meeting took longer than I thought, when I went back to my office it was already two. And Destiny was not in her seat. 'must have went to have lunch' I thought. Looks like I can't talk to her today.
I want the redo files tomorrow morning, so I have to inform Destiny about it and along with that I will ask her to appoint a good restaurant tomorrow so we can talk. I will not tell her about it until tomorrow.
As I was working, my phone started ringing, without looking at the caller ID I answered the call "Hello, Liam Collins speaking".
"Hello Liam" I heared a familiar voice. I checked the caller ID to see its my mother who was speaking.
"Mother, why did you call me? Is there any work you have me to be done" I answered her.
"No no son, it's just... It's been a while since I didn't speak with you so I just... wanted to ask... can you come your home early today. I am in your mansion, I wanted to talk with you" she was hesitant to ask to me.
"I will try my best mother, I have an meeting at three. I will try to finish it fast and be there at four. Can you wait till then" I replied to her.
'what she wanted to talk about 'I thought.
"That's great Liam, till then I will be here talking to Mellisa" she said and hung up.
I have to call Destiny to come here and fix the meeting earlier.
But I don't have her number. Shit I forgot to ask her. So I called the financial department by myself and said them to be in the meeting room in ten minutes.
I wrote a note to her,
I know you have went to your lunch, but I want you to complete the files by today evening.
And I have some work for you. I wanted to call and inform but I don't have your number, so I wrote down my number.
When you get this message call me immediately.

I sticked it to her laptop and went to the meeting.
When I entered inside, I immediately started it. After few minutes I gave them time to discuss the issue.
I was checking the mails in my mobile when a unknown number started calling me. In a single ring I picked up and asked who is this.
It was Destiny who called me, and she said that she has almost completed her work. I was impressed by that. I told her what I wanted to tell her. Then she hung up.
I saved her number and continued the meeting. It was completed earlier than I thought.
After that I called my driver to take me to my home.
At exact four I was at home. When I entered the living room I saw my mother and Mellisa talking having tea.
"Mother" I called her.
Hearing my voice she turned her head towards me. She got up from her place and hugged me. I was shocked by her behavior. My hands were still by my side.
I looked at Melissa, for answers. She was just sitting there looking at us, a small smile was there on her lips. I raised an eyebrow at her, asking what was all this.
She shook her head and got up from the place and went towards the kitchen.
I raised my right hand and patted my mother back in soothing way when I heard a sniffle from her.
When she pulled apart from me, she put her hands on my shoulder and looked at me. She put her right hand on my cheek and caressed it with her thumb. She was crying.
By seeing her face properly, I can see she has become a little weak then before. She looked tired.
"I'm so sorry son, I am very sorry. When you needed us we were not there. You have grown up so much " she said looking into my eyes.
Well when you meet your son after a few years, he is sure has grown up. I wanted to reply but I kept quiet. I used to see my father few times, due to meetings and his visits to my office but it was only business related.
My mother didn't meet me much, she was busy with her business. So I didn't disturb her.
I still didn't reply to her. I was just looking at her face. I don't know what to say. It is the first time both of my parents were showing affection towards me.
"I understand you don't know what to do. I am sorry. Atleast can you give us a chance please" she pleaded.
I took her hand from my cheek and held in my hands. "I can't take your apologies mother because you two have missed a lot. When I needed the support and caring from you, I didn't get it" I said and left her hands.
I can see the hurt and regret in her eyes. "Atleast you both came to your senses that you have a son and started thinking about it. So I can try when you try giving time" as I said she hugged me. I hugged her back.
We both pulled away, she looked into my eyes and said "I will try son, what ever happens I will try. Both me and your father will try" I can see the hope in her eyes. I nodded my head.
"Can you show your home. I have been waiting to see the beautiful house you built. I was waiting for you to come" she asked. My eyes lit up at her request. I started showing her the house.
We talked about the house, I was happy talking about it. It was my dream house.
We were talking random things when I was showing her my backyard. Suddenly she asked "So son, do you have any girlfriend?".
I looked up at her, I kept my hands in my pockets and replied "no".
"Are you interested in guys?" her question shocked me. I stopped walking and turned towards her in wide eyes and gasped at her.
"Hell no. Why would you think that? " I asked her. Seeing me stop she also stopped walking.
She shrugged at me and started walking again. I followed her. She replied "I haven't seen you with any other women in papers or television. You don't even take any of them to any events".
"That doesn't explain I am interested in guys" I raised my voice a little.
She laughed at me "Don't take it serious Liam. I was just confirming because I read a article about yours a few months back. I cleared my doubt" she asked. I nodded my head.
We were walking silently now. After few minutes she spoke again "Atleast do you have any girl in your mind which you are interested in".
My mind went to Destiny. Her smile, her laugh, her beautiful face, her dark brown eyes.
I hear a small laugh near me. I saw that my mother was smiling at me.
"Seeing you lost in your thoughts I can confirm that there is a girl in your life" she asked still smiling at me.
I stopped walking and removed my hands from the pocket and kept beside me. She also stopped walking and came in front me and looked into my eyes.
I released a breath of sign and said "Yes there is.
But I don't know what to do. I liked her in highschool but I made a terrible mistake leaving her, I regret it till now.
When I met her again few days back, I still have the same feelings for her.
I just want another chance to be with her" I turned my head towards my left and stared at a tree.
A hand grabbed my hand, I looked down to see my mother's hand. I looked at her to see that she was having a small smile on her face.
"You really like her if you are thinking about it a lot. Just make her happy and give her your trust that she can't leave you. Don't lose the trust son. If you lose it, it's hard to gain it back" she said softly.
"But I already broke her trust towards me" I said lowly.
"Then gain it back, it's hard I know. But give it a try, if she is worth it " she said.
"She is very much worth it" a small smile was placed on my face when I replied.
"Ohh, I can't wait to see the girl who has gained my son's heart over the moon" she said smiling at me.
Then we went inside the mansion. Mellisa has cooked the dinner.
We three had fun over the dinner. Melissa said about my mischievousness, I can see the lost look in my mother eyes whenever Melissa talked about it.
I bid both of them a good bye by kissing their cheeks. I went back to my room and lay down on the bed.
I have to try and gain Destiny's trust back. With that thought I went to sleep.
