Chapter 56
Liam's pov
Everything was good. We all are having so much fun. I was playing with Nick after lunch. Ladies are in the kitchen cleaning up. And all mens are in the living room watching sports. Nick has started talking little. He would call mama. I heard he is still learning to walk.
My father and David became instant friends, like there are buddies for years.
They are sitting infront of TV, fighting about the teams who is going to win.
I haven't seen my father like this. Well me and Nick are watching them.
Nick babbled something. I picked him up and made him stand on my thighs.
"They are acting like teenagers. Aren't they" I asked him. He babbled again.
I got up and placed him on the ground. I grabbed his hands and made him walk. I was behind him. I slowly left his hands, he took one step and sat down. I again made him stand. I helped him few times.
"Come on buddy. You can do it" I said and making him walk. I left his hands, he stepped forward. He didn't fall. He kept another step and another, then fell down.
"Well done boy" I said picking him up.
"Why don't you show your mother what you learnt" I said. I went towards the kitchen and peaked inside, everyone were talking.
"Are you ready, don't fall okay" I said patting his back. He put his hand on my face. I know he understood what I said. I placed him down at the entrance of kitchen.
"Mama" he called and stepped forward. Everyone looked at us, I left his hands. He walked slowly one step at a time. Amanda got up in shock and kneeled down on the ground.
"Yes sweetie. Come to mama" Amanda cried.
"Mama" he said walking to her. He reached for her hands. He was four steps away from her when he fell. He crawled to her. Amanda picked him up and kissed his face. His giggled clapping his hands.
"Mama" he said.
"You did very good sweetie" Amanda said standing up. All the ladies were happy seeing them. Destiny came to me and stood beside me. I put my hands on her waist as she leaned into me.
Suddenly Nick cried reaching his hands for me. Amanda tried to control him, but he didn't calm down.
"Here give him to me" I said removing my hand from Destiny. Amanda gave Nick to me, he calmed down immediately. He reached towards Destiny's and pushed her head away from me. I laughed out loud.
Looks like someone is jealous.
Destiny was shock with wide eyes and her mouth open. Mother, Elizabeth and Amanda laughed.
"Looks like someone doesn't like you now" I said chuckling.
"You little munchkin, he is my boyfriend" Destiny said crossing her arms and narrowing her eyes at him playfully. He just looked away from her and hugged me by my neck. I laughed at his sassy action.
"Great my own nephew is jealous of his aunt" she said throwing her hands up.
"Let that boy play with Liam now. Don't worry dear, you will get Liam all to yourself in the night" Elizabeth said rolling her eyes. Destiny blushed and hid her face in my shoulder.
"Mom" she whined. Amanda and my mother laughed at her. I patted Nick back as I saw his eyes dropping. Amanda came to me and took Nick from me.
"I will put him for sleep for few hours" she said going out. I put my arm around Destiny and leaned towards her ear.
"As they said, you have me all night to yourself. What are planning to do" she slapped my chest blushing. I chuckled and kissed her forehead.
"Do you want any help in the kitchen for tonight's dinner" I asked Elizabeth.
"No son, we will manage" she said.
"Mom, let him help. He makes delicious food. And it is also better than you make it" Destiny said. She realized what she said, she shut her mouth with her hand. My mother and I chuckled at her. Elizabeth crossed her hands and glared at her daughter.
"I was joking mom" Destiny said removing her hand chuckling nervously.
"Now I see the reason why you have become fat" Elizabeth said smirking.
"Really" Destiny said looking down at her body.
"Elizabeth let her be. She is not wrong, Liam is a good cook" my mother said.
"Well then, I would be happy to take a extra hand" Elizabeth said getting up.
"You are perfect. Don't sulk now" I said looking at Destiny. She pouted.
I helped Elizabeth and Amanda in the kitchen after Amanda came back.
Both the men's are watching TV and decorating the living room.
Destiny and my mom gave us company while cooking.
Destiny would sneak some or the other things we would make.
I made lasagna, chicken and mushroom risotto.
Elizabeth was surprised to see me cook. She make a chicken salad and stuffed eggs.
We completed making dinner at 7. We all went to the living room for cake cutting. Amanda and Elizabeth was so happy seeing the cake I made. Nick is awake from his nap.
"Liam, the cake looks beautiful" Amanda said. Everyone is gathered around the table with Nick behind the table in Amanda arms.
"Thank you Amanda" I said.
"Everyone keeps praising Liam" I heard Destiny mumble. I put my hand around her waist and pulled her to me chuckling. Everyone laughed at her.
"Don't worry darling I will praise you when you do something good" I said. She elbowed me in the stomach.
"Now let's celebrate our grandson birthday" David said.
"Happy birthday to you" we all sang to Nick who was clapping his hands looking at the cake.
Everyone wished Nick. We all ate the cake. I got good compliments about it.
Doorbell rang through the house. Elizabeth went to receive it. Soon after Elizabeth came in with Ava behind her.
"Sorry I am late. I had some errands to run and got late" she said. She went to Nick in Amanda's arms and picked up.
"Hello birthday boy" she kissing his cheeks. He touched his chocolate hand on her cheeks. Everyone laughed at him.
"Well boy, it's not good to treat your aunt like that" Ava said. Nick just clapped his hands. She gave Nick back to Amanda and sat beside Destiny. Destiny gave a tissue to Ava. They started talking about his brother.
Everyone started to give their gifts to Nick. My parents gave him a toy collection set. Destiny's parents gave him some soft toys. As I know Destiny gave some clothes to him. Ava gave him a building blocks.
"Mine is still in the car. I will bring it" I said getting up.
"I will come with you" Destiny said getting up as well with a piece of cake in her hand.
"You should stop eating sweets princess. It's your third piece now" I said opening the front door. She followed behind me.
"Then you should stop making it so delicious" she said still eating.
I walked to my car and opened the trunk.
I looked at Destiny, she was busy finishing her cake.
I crossed my arms and looked at her smiling.
She put her last piece in her mouth and looked at me.
She has chocolate at the side of her lips.
She is little messy eater. I chuckled shaking my head and stepped towards her. She looked at me confused. I pulled her to me and lifted my hand up to her lips and wiped the chocolate. I bought it to my lips and licked it.
"Now you are good" I said. She smiled raffling my hair.
I leaned down and kissed her soft lips. She tasted like chocolate.
I smiled at her chocolate obsession. She smiled with me.
We kissed for few seconds and pulled away.
I leaned my forehead on her for few seconds and pulled away grabbing her hand.
"This feels so good you know. Talking, laughing, sharing little things, talking about the embarrassed moments with the family, spending time together. I love this" I said looking at her face. She lifted her hand and caressed my cheek.
"You deserve everything. You think about everyone.
You want to make them happy. You won't let down your dear ones.
You treat everyone equally. Even you make me feel complete.
Your kisses show me your feelings. You make me feel I am worth it for everything.
And that's what I lo......." she stopped suddenly what she was going to say.
Her eyes turned wide in shock. Suddenly she looked into my eyes and searched for something.
"What happened? Are you okay princess" I asked worriedly looking at her to see anything happened to her. She looked at me and around her.
"Yeah I am fine. I just.... I.. " she stumbled to talk. We heard a long horn behind me. She saw behind me. I turned around and looked at the car which just has stopped behind mine. A man came out and took out his goggles.
He was a good looking guy with good height. He wore a shirt with khaki pants. His hairs was tied at the back. He has some tattoos on his left arm as his sleeves were rolled up. He looked kind of similar. He looked at Destiny and smiled.
"I hope you didn't forget me Sky" he said opening his arms.
"Chris" Destiny whispered behind me. I turned to her. She was surprised to see him.
"Chris" she shouted and pulled away from me. She ran to him and hugged him. He lifted her up and twirled her around laughing. I fisted my hands at my sides in anger. He put her down and looked at her from top to bottom.
"Damn, you have become a beautiful woman from last time I have seen you" he said.
"Well that's what you see when you go missing for months" Destiny said.
"Well now I am back" he hugged her again and kissed her forehead. I was furious now.
I walked up to them and pulled them away. I grabbed Destiny hand and pulled her behind me.
"Stay away from her" I said pushing the man hard on his chest making him stumble back. Due to my force he fell on the ground.
"Chris" Destiny shouted behind me. She came around me and bent down to him.
"What is wrong with you" Destiny asked looking up at me. The man groaned in pain and sat up.
"He touched you and kissed your forehead" I said furiously glaring at the man. Destiny helped the guy named Chris up.
"Who the hell are you to say that to me" he said stepping forward.
"I am her boyfriend" I said glaring at him.
"So what, I can do anything with her" he said smirking at me. I grabbed his collar in force and pulled him to me. I looked dead in his eyes.
"Liam, leave him" Destiny called my name and came beside me.
"I won't let you touch her" I said with venom in my voice.
"Liam, look at me" Destiny said. I looked at her. Her eyes were full of worry and fear. My eyes softened looking at her and my body relaxed a little. I felt my grip on the man's collar loosened a little. I looked at him again. He was looking at me with surprise.
"Liam leave my brother" Destiny said. I turned my head in lightening speed at her with shock.
"What?" I asked lowly.
"I said leave my brother" she said glaring at me. I looked at the man. He kept his face blank and pulled my hands away. He smoothen his collar and dusted his shirt.
"Come on Chris, let's go inside" Destiny said grabbing his hand and pulled him towards the house. I turned towards them. I saw Ava standing at the door.
"Princess" I called out.
"I don't want to talk with you" she said without turning back to me and pulled Chris inside. Ava was surprised to see him as well. Ava looked back at me and started walking towards me. I turned around and kicked my car tyre in frustration. I ran my hand through my hairs.
