Chapter 8 Bar Confrontation
For the next few days, I stayed holed up at home,
terrified of running into Song Jin Nian again.
Then I thought—why was I acting so guilty?
I was leaving this world soon anyway. Bumping into him wouldn’t matter.
That night, I headed to a bar to let loose and enjoy myself.
The lights flashed wildly, the music loud and exhilarating.
I claimed the best seat,
waved my hand grandly,
and ordered the five hottest male models to drink with me.
Since I was spending freely,
all five pulled out every trick to get my attention.
“Sister, you’re so gorgeous—my heart’s racing. Feel it~”
“Mine’s faster. Sister, touch mine.”
“Their bodies aren’t as good as mine. Sister, check out my V Line.”
Every one of them was sculpted perfectly.
Surrounded by them, all my worries vanished. I was purely happy.
“One at a time. I’ll touch you all.”
I basked in their attention.
Just as I reached to admire the closest model’s abs,
a chilling gaze landed on me.
The familiar feeling made me shiver.
The next second,
my ex-husband’s low, dangerous voice sounded from behind.
“Did you ever smile this happily when you touched me?”
At that voice,
I turned stiffly.
There he was, in the neighboring booth.
Dim light carved sharp shadows across his striking features, cold and intense.
His expression was dark.
Those piercing eyes narrowed, fixed on the hand I had almost placed on the model.
As if daring me to touch, and he would make me regret it.
Why was Song Jin Nian here?
And his aura had turned back into that dark, oppressive force.
The pressure was so strong I instinctively pulled away from the models.
“Why’d you stop?”
He was smiling,
but there wasn’t a hint of warmth in his eyes.
A gathering storm brewed in them.
That familiar oppression made my heart pound.
Had his memories returned?
I quickly dismissed the idea.
The world’s correction of the male lead wouldn’t bring his memories back that fast.
I gathered my courage and found my spine again.
“Song Jin Nian, you can take your little assistant shopping. Is it wrong for me to check a young man’s heartbeat?”
In the past,
I would never have dared say anything like that to him.
It would have been dancing on his biggest trigger.
I’d have faced days of his personal “punishment.”
But now I was leaving this world.
What did I have to lose?
The thought made me bolder.
“After the divorce, I discovered younger guys are pretty amazing. Sweet-talking, attentive—way more considerate than Song Jin Nian.”
His smile faded completely.
Dark, violent emotion swirled in his eyes.
“Oh? Is that so?”
“Absolutely. Song Jin Nian, you’re not that young anymore. All technique, no raw power like these boys.”
It was a total lie.
As the male lead, Song Jin Nian’s stamina was unreal.
Endless tricks, endless energy.
But I just wanted to rile him up.
The moment the words left my mouth,
I regretted them.
A group of men appeared out of nowhere and removed the models.
Then Song Jin Nian scooped me up,
carried me to a private room,
and dropped me onto the soft bed without ceremony.
“Song Jin Nian—what are you doing?!”
He loosened his tie and leaned over me.
His dark, uncontrolled aura swallowed me whole.
“Proving whether I really only rely on technique, like you claimed.”
I had only been mouthing off.
Realizing he meant it,
I panicked.
“I was joking! They’re all amateurs compared to you—you’re the king!”
He bit my earlobe hard.
“So familiar with comparisons. Slept with them?”
Pain shot through me. “No!”
He bit my collarbone next. “Brought them home?”
Was he part dog?
I sucked in air. “No.”
“Liar.”
He claimed my lips fiercely.
Fine—there had been a handsome delivery guy yesterday.
He seemed to have intentions.
But his face wasn’t nearly as striking as Song Jin Nian’s, so I sent him away.
I tried to explain.
He gave me no chance.
Every familiar move,
every rhythm of breath against my ear.
I was left completely drained.
“Is divorce fun, Wife?”
At the peak,
he whispered the word right against my ear.
Hearing “Wife”
half my heart died.
I should have realized his memories were back.
Yet I had kept provoking him.
I was stunned. “When did you get your memories back? Why didn’t you say anything?”
“Would that have ruined your little dates with the younger guys?”
I…
All night he turned me over and over again.
What on earth had happened?
Why had Song Jin Nian suddenly remembered everything?
I called for the System.
No answer.
Despair settled in.
Facing the Song Jin Nian who remembered everything,
I was utterly doomed.
