Chapter 7 Accidental Meetings
I waited calmly for the countdown to leave this world.
But I kept running into Song Jin Nian everywhere, for no apparent reason.
Sometimes I even spotted him in the most random places, like the bathroom.
He was supposed to be meeting the female lead, yet he kept crossing paths with me.
When he saw me again,
his handsome face was utterly cold.
“Deliberately blocking my way?”
I shot back, “I was about to say the same about you.”
I shrugged innocently. “I’m just shopping like a normal person. But you, Song Jin Nian—what brings you to the women’s section?”
Right after the words left my mouth,
a pretty girl stepped out from behind him.
“Song Jin Nian is here to help me pick out clothes.”
Her voice was soft, her eyes bright and clear.
She explained earnestly, “I have to attend a business reception with Song Jin Nian later, and I don’t have anything suitable to wear.”
Her aura was dazzling.
I recognized her instantly.
The female lead of this world.
Song Jin Nian’s destined partner.
The plot was clearly being corrected.
The romance between the male and female leads had already begun.
To keep the proper trajectory from derailing again,
I decided to become invisible and slip away quietly.
But a hand stopped me.
“You still haven’t told me why you keep appearing in front of me.”
“It’s just coincidence.”
“Coincidence—or intentional?”
Even with amnesia, he still loved chasing me down like this.
I smiled and brushed his hand away.
Yet he simply closed his fingers around mine.
“?”
“I don’t like games of hard-to-get.”
What was that supposed to mean?
His large, slightly cool hand enveloped mine completely.
My body stiffened. Strangely, I felt attached to the sensation.
Song Jin Nian seemed to feel it too—his fingers instinctively kneaded the back of my hand,
exactly the way he used to.
“I really don’t reject you at all.”
He sounded thoughtful.
I panicked that the contact might trigger something,
so I quickly pulled my hand free.
“Song Jin Nian, you’re undeniably attractive, but there are plenty of men out there. I’m not desperate enough to hang myself from one tree.”
“These run-ins were pure coincidence. If you don’t want to see me, I’ll just avoid these places from now on.”
I deliberately put distance between us and said those words,
treating him like some kind of monster.
Song Jin Nian’s face turned terrifyingly cold.
“Su He, remember what you just said.”
“Next time we meet, I won’t let you off so easily.”
