chapter 2
I almost instinctively shouted it out.
I continued, "Charles's card has always been in the safe at home. How could he possibly take it out so easily?"
"This card of yours must be fake."
My confident attitude not only didn't make them panic but made them even more arrogant.
Amelia ignored me and turned to hand the card to a professional appraiser. "We'll find out if it's real or not after checking."
At this moment, Adeline curled up entirely behind me. She said, "Victoria, my chest hurts so much."
I quickly patted her back and helped her stand up. I said, "Adeline, I'll take you to the hospital right now."
But Bella stopped us. "Who gave you permission to leave?"
She grabbed my shoulder, her sharp nails digging in painfully. "You two impostors want to leave? Not so easy."
As soon as Bella finished speaking, the appraiser nearby spoke up. He respectfully handed the card back to Amelia with both hands and said, "Mrs. Amelia Moore, this card is indeed authentic."
Adeline widened her eyes in disbelief, her gaze turning blank. She murmured, "How? How could this happen?"
"Charles said this card was only for me to use."
Her voice was neither too loud nor too soft, so everyone present heard it.
Amelia was extremely emotional, ready to come over and hit someone. "You still want to spend my family's money? I'll beat you to death."
I extended my arm to stop her again, then suppressed my anger and said to her, "I don't care how you got this card."
"But I'm warning you now, stop it."
Amelia was a bit surprised and said, "Are you talking to me?"
She grinned, then grabbed my hair and yanked me toward her. "I was busy dealing with that mistress earlier and forgot to take care of you, the accomplice."
Bella cooperatively slapped me twice. "Adeline seduced Mr. Charles Moore, and you seduced my future husband."
"You two really have a clear division of labor."
Seeing me get hit, Adeline panicked and quickly called Charles.
But no one answered the call. Amelia noticed and smashed Adeline's phone directly.
She said, "Still looking for help? Let me tell you, I've already had my husband block you."
"My presence here today to catch you is also my husband's idea."
Hearing her words, Adeline turned pale, tears streaming down continuously.
Bella took the chance and punched my stomach repeatedly.
I had no choice but to reveal that I am the daughter of the Hernandez family.
I gasped and said, "Bella, if you don't want the Smith family to suffer with you, let go immediately."
Bella paused for a moment, then nervously looked at Amelia beside her.
Amelia said, "So now you're not pretending to be from the Moore family, but from the Hernandez family instead?"
She crossed her arms and said, "It seems you know a lot about wealthy families. You know Ms. Hernandez grew up abroad, so you dare to impersonate her identity, right?"
Bella immediately regained her confidence. She straightened up and said, "Even if your identity is fake, so what? Even if it's real, what can you do?"
"Behind me is not just the Smith family, but also the Moore family."
She put on an arrogant look, making me feel a bit powerless.
I said, "If you don't believe me, give me back my phone. I have evidence to prove my identity."
Hearing my words, Amelia directly stepped on my phone. "You want to call for help? I'm telling you, no way."
At this moment, a voice came from afar. "What's going on? Why isn't the auction continuing?"
A familiar figure, Manager Jackson Clark, slowly appeared before us.
I shouted his name desperately, "Jackson, it's me. I'm Victoria."
