Chapter 25 Punishment
They discharged Eva the same evening from the hospital; she was still using the wheelchair.
The doctor advised her to have bedrest and less movement of her foot as the wound is deep and will take time to heal.
When Eva reached the smith mansion, rose stopped near the stairs and ordered Stephen
“Stephen, pick her up and take her to her bedroom."
Stephen was shocked upon hearing this, whereas Eva became nervous and confused.
“It’s ok, Rose, I ”
“No, dear, don’t even think about continuing on your foot, “then she glanced at Stephen, who was still trying to figure it out
Rose scolded him, “What are you waiting for? Yesterday you didn’t even care about the surroundings and kept secure in your arms. You know, Eva, he was not ready to let you go; he was roaming in the hospital, keeping you close to himself.”
It surprised Eva to know this all. She just recalled that she hugged Stephen to save herself, but after that, she remembered nothing.
Stephen got more suspicious now, listening to her mother’s words, but he took care of it later than he already had a lot of work in hand
Stephen picked up Eva in a bridal style.
His one hand was under her knees, and the other one was on her back.
Eva squirmed a little in his arms. Yesterday she was so scared that she didn’t even bother about whom she was hugging too, but at this moment her body could feel the soft touch of his warm hands.
Eva didn’t dare to look up at him. She kept her eyes down
Soon they enter her room, and a smile appears on Eva’s face as they arrange many beautiful flower bouquets in the room. She was busy adoring it, so she didn’t notice when Stephen laid her on the bed carefully and covered her with sheets.
"Mom, you notify me if you need anything for her. For now, I have to leave.”

“Stephen “ once again Eva’s soft voice stopped Stephen in his tracks. He always adored his name when it rolled out of her tongue. Stephen turned around to look at her
“Thank you for everything, I don’t know what would happen if you had not reached on time .“
Stephen gave a curt nod to her and left from there.
"Rude, “Eva muttered under her breath, as she was expecting to hear “mention not or welcome or something like that, but what she got in return was a nod, just a nod.!
Rose witnessed all of Stephen’s blush and Eva’s irritation at his reaction, and she smiled at their equation. She was glad that even if Eva is scared of Stephen’s presence, she never let her guard down. She is just like her mother.
Whereas Stephen went to his office where his men were already waiting for him
“So I hope you made the proper
“Yes, sir, everything is arranged.””
“I don’t want any evidence and not a single mistake. Ok, let’s begin the show then.”
That night Elena was enjoying herself in a club. She had wasted herself on powerful drinks. Elena was enjoying her victory as she punished Eva with her sharp tongue.
Elena hated Eva from the very first meeting when she saw her in the arms of her love, Stephen. That day at her house, when she hugged Stephen out of anxiety, she noticed how softly Stephen was talking to her.
Elena didn’t regret doing that with her. She was the one who spotted Eva alone in the garden, as she already heard her fear of dogs from her mom, so she took the opportunity and ordered the guard to release the dogs.
And the way Eva was screaming for help and getting stumbled on many things, Elena enjoyed every moment.
The party in the club was going in full swing
In between the drinks, Elena went to the washroom. The moment she entered the washroom, a cloth covered her mouth, and soon she lost consciousness.
. when she blinked her eyes and tried to open them, she found herself in an unknown room; it was more looking like a storeroom, a dim night lamp was only the source of light in the room
Elena got scared. She thought maybe someone kidnapped her for money.
She wanted to scream for help, but her throbbing headache was killing her.
Still, she tried to get on her feet and walk.
In the dim light, she stumbled upon many things that she even didn’t notice.
Because of this, she got many cuts on her legs, and whenever she felt a cut, she used to scream in pain.
Anyhow, after struggling for some minutes, she spotted the door of the dark room, and she started banging on the door, asking for help. But it was of no use to her
Soon she got tired, as she was already tipsy, so she slumped on the floor. After some moments, she felt like something was roaming on her foot. She quickly sat back and the scene in front was so frightening for herself, she screamed at the top of her lungs
As many rats were trying to climb upon her. Elena started screaming and jumping here and there. She was frightened that she didn’t care about the injuries she was receiving.
Her screams were getting louder, but to her terrible luck, there was no one to help. After struggling for half an hour, she lost her consciousness again as continuous screaming for help and struggling made her dizzy and her tipsy condition was also not helping her
After a few minutes, some men entered the room and collected all the rats that were roaming in the room.
They also remove the camera that they installed before.
It was early morning when the search for Elena started by her parents, as she belonged to a well-known, powerful family.
Their security team, along with the cops, started the search.
Last night, when Mrs. Thompson called Elena to know about her return time, her friend, who informed Mrs. Thompson that they could not find Elena anywhere in the club, picked up her phone.
Mrs. Thompson was well aware of her daughter’s addictions, so she waited for some more time before informing her husband. She confronted the security team and as expected, Elena ordered them to stay outside the club
But when it was past four in the morning, she panicked, and Elena’s friends and her security team still informed her they still didn’t discover Elena.
Soon Thompsons searched for her, and first they visited the club. The friends told the cops that Elena went to use the washroom, but then she never came back to the party.
When they reached the basement, they found Elena in terrible condition in one storeroom. They found Elena in a dire condition in one storeroom. She had suffered severe injuries, with bleeding wounds and a dress drenched in mud.
When the security team was shifting her to the ambulance, something unexpected happened as they discovered a crowd of media persons present outside the club. The camera saw flashing continuously. Soon this incident made a headline in every news bulletin.
It already shocked Mr. and Mrs. Thompson to see her daughter in this condition. Their primary concern was her safety; thus, they paid no mind to the media.
Whereas Stephen was watching the live telecast of the media coverage, he just stared at the condition of Elena as the media was showing the pictures of her devastated shape. From every angle, Stephen kept savoring his drink.
He dialed a number. “ Good job, you will receive your check till morning, “and then disconnected the call and lay down on his bed
“I hope you now know what fear is.”
He already watched the video of her struggle in the basement. The way she was pleading for help and her tears all brought a sense of peace to his heart.
Stephen was glad to see that she was going through the same pain that she had given to Eva. Now he feels that justice has been served.
The next morning, the news of Elena Thompson spread like a fire. It shocked even the Smith family to believe this. They tried to contact the Thompson couple, but they were not in a condition to talk
Rose was having her breakfast with William. They were discussing Elena’s incident
“It’s very shocking. How the hell did this happen and who must have done it?“
“I don’t know, but the investigation is still going on.
“What are the doctors suggesting?"
“We know little, but the media is telling us that she is in critical condition and under the observation of a team of doctors."
Steve was listening to this conversation while having his breakfast, and so was Stephen.
“Don’t discuss these things with Eva. I don’t want her to get more traumatized." William told Rose, on which she gave a nod to him.
When Stephen was starting for his office, Steve called him from behind, so Stephen turned around to face Steve
“You did the right thing. Elena deserves this punishment. ”
Stephen didn’t respond and got settled in his car. He was thinking about Steve and how well his brother knows him. He decided he will not send Steve to Australia; he will just send Steve whenever his presence is essential there
It was evening when William called Stephen and told him to accompany him to pay a visit to the Thompson family at the hospital.
As they were their business associates too, Rose didn’t want to leave Eva alone.
Stephen wanted to deny it at first but then he got interested in watching Elena’s suffering so he agreed with his dad
Shortly after they reached the hospital, as expected, they admitted Elena Thompson to the most expensive hospital in a VIP room.
In the lobby, William found Mr. Thompson, who was sitting with a slumped shoulder. William reached out to him and asked about Elena’s health. Stephen was listening to the conversation with interest, keeping his stern face.
“I didn’t know William how my daughter reached the basement. The cops are searching for CCTV footage but in that too, they are only spotting her leaving for the washroom
“To our bad luck, there are no cameras in the basement. “
“Don’t worry, the cops will find it out soon. But how is Elena doing now?”
Thompson gave a deep sigh. “not good. She got injured badly. The doctors are treating it, but it will take some time to heal, and that is not our concern, but her mental health is “
“Mental health. What do you mean?”
“She is behaving weird after gaining her consciousness. She got scared of the slightest sound. Elena is continuously talking about rats, but the cops and my security team searched the whole place, and there is no trace of any rats.
The doctor is suggesting that this incident must have affected her mental balance, so we need to see a good psychiatrist for her. “
Stephen was celebrating every word for her misery; she deserved all this as she hurt his most precious possession.
After talking for some more time, William and Stephen took their leave, as doctors restricted visitors from meeting Elena.
When they returned home, Stephen was still worried about Eva’s health. He got to freshen up first, then he checked on her. He reached her room and knocked on it, but in return, he heard some sobbing sound, so he rushed inside.
Eva was busy talking to her dad. She was weeping more than talking, and her dad was trying to console her from the other side, whereas Rose was trying to console her.
“I miss you, dad, I miss our home too Please, dad, I want to see you."
Eva was complaining to her dad, and Michael was trying to handle his daughter.
After the call got over, Rose made Eva sleep. Stephen also left the room.
That night Stephen asked Rose, “Why don’t Mr. Johnson visit here?" I mean, if she is missing him so much.”
“Well, maybe it’s a little tough for him as the responsibility of that project is on his shoulder and he is too busy with it. I will talk to him as it will be good for her.
"Yes, you should, and tell me if Mr. Johnson needs any help."
“Fine, now sleep well night, son."
“Good night, mom, “wishing him Rose left for Eva’s room as for some days she was going to stay with her
The next morning, when all the men of the smith family left for their office, rose was sitting with Eva watching some cooking show and it isn't great whose show it was, exactly Richard Paul
Eva was looking at the screen with interest as she was trying to remember the recipe.
Eva wanted something for munching, so she opened her side drawer and took out some chips from the hamper. Rose, who was observing her actions, thought maybe she stocked some packets for her midnight hunger
Eva offered chips to Rose, but she denied it politely.
“You know, I always wanted to thank you for this arrangement. It’s so thoughtful of you.”
“What arrangement precisely are you talking about? “ Rose asked her in confusion
Eva gave a warm smile at her. “You don’t have to pretend now. I knew you were the one who used to arrange these snacks in my room for my midnight hunger. Thank you so much for that. But tell me one thing: why do you lock my door? Maybe you want to assure my safety, right?. “
Rose was getting surprises in a row listening to Eva’s statements. But she composed herself and answered Eva, ‘Yes. For your safety."
Eva gave a nod at her and again got busy munching on chips, whereas Rose was smart enough to realize who must have done this. Now Stephen smith has to answer many questions
