Chapter 62. .Blame Game
Eva’s body trembled in anger She called for Mr miller and asked him
“Who sent this?”
“Madam, many bouquets arrived in the morning. Isn’t the sender’s name on the chit?”
Eva passed the chit to Mr Miller, who checked the chit and then told Eva, “
“ This must be someone from the Hudson Empire only."
“How could you say that?”
“We can see the company's initials here.”
Eva again held the chit and noticed the initials of the company.
Somehow she felt she saw this writing before.
Her mind took some time to realize but soon she understood whose handwriting is this.
Without saying a word, she exited the cabin holding the flower bouquet in her hand. Mr miller was on her tail
Eva barged into the cabin of harry Hudson and threw the flowers on his table
Harry looked up at her and asked her,
“What did I do to owe your presence, Eva? Oops, sorry, it’s Mrs. EvaMD, of Hudson Group, right?"
““What kind of joke is this? ““ Eva showed him the chit
Harry took hold of the piece of paper and then chuckled
“So what is wrong with that?.”
“ How dare you call me a puppet of Stephen and, moreover, Stephen has nothing to do with this company, so why the hell are you dragging him in this?”
“That’s your opinion, whereas reality is in contrast to your opinion. Stephen Smith better say the complete Smith family is using you as a card to get hold of the Hudson empire. And as a na?ve person, you trust all of them blindly, especially your husband Stephen
Eva sighed and shook her head at his words
You know what Harry? I always took you as a nice and mature person, but from the day you got to know about tHarry? your behavior changed towards me. Rather than be happy about the fact that we are cousins, yoYourated me like an enemy of yours .
‘ So what’s wrong with that? You become my enemy the moment you claim the property given by my grandfather. All this rightfully belongs to me and my dad., and you know this very well. Still, you got manipulated by the great Stephen Smith.“
"Enough, Harry; I already told you not to drag my husband in this."
Huh! My husband! Wait a sec. If you are stating him innocent, then is it the other way around.?
Maybe it’s you and your dad who influenced Stephen Smith to get hold of this property.
Tears brimmed in Eva’s eyes as she took hold of her emotions
“You can think whatever you like too, but I can just say that you are being a fool here. I can just wish you would catch the truth one day. “
Stating this, Eva left the cabin, and Mr. Miller followed her.
After the event occurred, Eva was upset all day thinking about how her life changed after arriving in LA
It was evening time when she entered the Smith mansion. The moment she arrived at the house, she saw the house helpers carrying out some luggage and settling it in a car.
She spotted Michael was busy talking to William and Rose. Eva also reached them.
“Good, you arrived on time, as I was just waiting for you. “
Eva noticed the surroundings and found Stephen stepping down the stairs. Before Stephen could reach Eva, Michael started with his words
I think I should leave now , Eva, dear. Take care of yourself and don’t trouble Stephen much.
Where are you going, and what’s happening here?
Michael shook his head. “I already told you last night that I want to return home now.
Eva gaped at her dad in astonishment, as Stephen told her he would agree with her dad to stay here
"No. How could you manage alone?”
“Eva, I think I already told you my decision and now I don’t want to discuss this anymore
“Dad..”
“Eva, he is not returning to that small town. Dad is going to stay in a nearby place. We can visit him whenever you wish and don’t worry. I already made the arrangements, so you don’t have to worry about anything. We should respect his wish too, “Stephen stated in his crisp tone
On which Eva understood this could be the last option, didn’t argue more. Knowing that her dad would be staying away from her all alone, especioption, sheen he needed her care, she didn't agree.
Michael signaled Eva to come close to him and soon took her in a warm hug. Eva sobbed in his arms but still wiped her tears
“Take care, dad, I will visit you soon. “Eva started with difficulty
Michael placed a kiss on her forehead, and then Michael bid his goodbyes to other family members. Soon after, he left the Smith mansion.
Eva was looking at the car, and still it got out of her sight. Stephen knew how hard it must be for her and to his bad luck, he could not even stay by her side for now as he has to attend an important business conference followed by dinner.
Stephen reached out to her and told her, “I have to leave for an important conference. I will have my dinner there only. So don’t wait for me to have your meal and take rest."
Hmm. “ Eva just gave a nod, as the day was not getting any better for her. She was expecting some comforting words from Stephen and also wanted to talk to him about Harry’s stunt in the office, but nothing was going according to her wishes.
Eva tried to calm herself and left for her room
At the dinner table, Eva was playing with her food, as she could not forget about Harry’s harsh words.
Rose William and Steve were noticing her face, so rose started her words
“ Don’t worry, Eva, Michael is fine there. I just talked to him. He already had his dinner. We tried to make him agree to stay here, but you know how stubborn he is.“
Eva gave a nod at her, but Steve was quick to tease his mother
“But mom, I think he left this place because of you."
“Me..? What do you mean? What did I do?"
“Of course, not purposely, but he was getting irritated by the food you made him eat here, and above that, you call the tasteless food healthy too so that the sick man could not even complain “
Rose smacked on his arm at his tease “shut up you idiot, Eva. trust me I tried to give Michael whatever is best for his health “
Eva smile at her “I know mom, he is just teasing you “
Steve winked at Eva, and she gave a smile at him. William smiled the way Steve made the atmosphere light for Eva, but he was upset by Stephen ‘s absence when Eva needed him by her side.
Eva reached the room and changed into her nightdress. She was trying to get some sleep, but after lots of tossing and turning, she gave up. Eva checked the balcony of the room, as she had never been there.
Eva entered the balcony and the view of the swimming pool brought a smile to her face, so she wished to swim for a while. Maybe it will help her get some sleep tonight.
Few minutes later she was standing at the poolside in her swimwear. She didn’t waste time and took a dive in the pool.
The touch of cold water made her shiver for some moments, but then her body got used to the water temperature and Eva started enjoying it.
After swimming for some time, she was resting at the edge of the pool as she was not willing to get out of the water.. She liked his swimming session to calm her anxiety.
Suddenly she felt two muscular arms holding her from her waist. She knew Stephen was just behind her
Stephen nuzzled his nose on her shoulder blade and told her,
“Not fair, someone is enjoying without me,”
Eva chuckled at his words and turned around to face him. She noticed him in his shirt and trouser. Stephen gave a smile at her and then captured her soft lips with his warm ones
Eva’s toes curled, feeling his warm lips on her as she responded to the kiss with equal passion.
Stephen broke the kiss and then hugged her. He kissed her hair and asked her,
“Eva, are you upset with me?
“No. But why are you even asking this? “
“I know I must have been with you when dad left , but what to do as my work pressure...
“It’s ok, I
“ Trust me, I tried hard to stop Dad, but he did not want to listen to any words. So I relocated him to a place near us, fulfilling his wish and allowing us to take care of him as well.
“I know how it must be; I know my dad. “
“Hmm, come now, let’s get to our room as it’s getting cold here and of course, we have a long night tonight, wife."
Eva blushed at his bold words and gave a nod to him. Stephen helped Eva get out of the pool and soon they entered their room.
While Stephen was changing his clothes, Eva got settled on the bed. A message tone on her phone took his attention, and she checked her phone.
“So at last Michael Johnson is thrown out of the Smith house; you will be the next one.”
