20. Ivy

TWENTY

Ivy

Warm water falls over my head and shoulders as the shower rains down its gloriousness. It is always such an amazing way to start the day—good water pressure, a bigger water tank, and fluffy towels with a higher thread count.

Yup, Xaden’s house is the best.

“How’s it going in there?”

I jump slightly as his voice comes from just outside the shower, and he giggles at me.

“Jesus, are you trying to give me a heart attack?”

With a hum, I can make out his head shake through the textured glass. “Never. I was actually thinking you needed some company.”

My pulse quickens for an entirely different reason, and I roll my lips between my teeth as I grin.

“What’s the password?” I tease.

Xaden chuckles hard, and I step backward as he reaches for the handle on the other side of the door.

“Hmm, is it ‘this is my shower you’re using?’”

I bark out a laugh, not letting him pull the door open as I reach for the top of it.

“Nope.”

His laugh darkens, and I know I’m not going to be able to keep this door shut much longer. Not that I want to.

“How about…‘three?’”

I falter, looking down at the floor as I try to guess what he might mean. I come up with nothing.

“Three?”

Distracted as I am, Xaden is able to pull open the door, and I slip slightly, tumbling into his arms as he opens things up.

“The number of times I’m going to make you come.”

My entire being shortcircuits, and I clench at his sinful promise. “Yup, that’s definitely it.”

“I thought so.”

Xaden wastes no time after that, stepping into the shower, and I realize quickly that he’s naked and hard. I’m already heating up just like he wants, and when he shuffles me back to the built-in bench, Xade gets me to sit down as he kneels between my legs.

We’re a bit out of the direct spray of the water, and a brief chill rushes over me. It’s forgotten in a second, though, because Xade goes straight in with his mouth, swiping his tongue across my seam.

I buck, nearly slipping off the seat, but Xaden’s firm grip on my thighs, which he pushes up and out, keeps me where he wants me.

It’s a damn good thing I’m flexible, too. In this position, my knees are practically by my head, and I’m completely exposed.

Embarrassment threatens, the bright light of the shower illuminating me so that there’s no doubt that Xaden can see every detail.

It falls away as he tongues me, holding nothing back as he devours everything I have to offer.

I swear to God his tongue is magic, and as he continues, I’m barreling through an orgasm in moments.

Everything feels heightened; this spontaneous moment in the shower is a delightful surprise. It’s also been a day or two since Xaden shaved properly, and the rasp of his stubble brushes over my sensitive skin.

The sensation is new, and I’ll admit to loving it so much more than I would have imagined.

When I’m trembling from the aftershocks, Xaden pulls back, dragging his hand down my leg until his fingers find my pussy.

Two slide in as his thumb rubs over my clit. “Oh, fuck! Xaden, that’s…oh God…”

“Shh,” he whispers, tormenting me with incredibly dextrous fingers as he leans in for a kiss, “you don’t want those sounds making it downstairs.”

I’m reminded that Daisy is home, and I bite down on my lip to stop the sounds from escaping me. Moreover, I realize that Xaden doesn’t have long to uphold his promise of three orgasms, so he’s not going to give me any breaks.

Oh, shit. This is so wild.

“Xaden,” I whine, his thrusting inside me making my mind fracture, “oh, God. It’s so…I’m not sure…”

But he just doubles down, kissing me and dragging caresses across my slick breast as he plays my core like a damn fiddle.

“You can, baby. You’re going to come for me like my good girl.” He moves quicker and quicker, my body reeling around his digits. “And then you’re going to ride my cock.”

His words send me soaring over the edge, and I come—again.

The world becomes a fuzzy haze, nothing existing outside of the shower. I’m a complete noddle as well, my body exceedingly worn out from our strenuous morning exercise.

Xaden doesn’t seem to mind in the slightest, reaching under me and flipping me around so that I’m bent over the bench. It’s slick, and I have to grip the edges tightly.

But between my iron hold on the ledge and Xaden’s firm command of my hips, I’m not going anywhere. And then he’s spearing into me.

I squeak, still fighting my volume, and Xaden groans low, immediately starting up a punishing pace. The sounds of our bodies colliding are sharp and cracking in the echoey shower.

I’m rising up that steep rollercoaster hill once more, my core clutching Xaden’s shaft like it’s my only form of sustenance.

“Goddamn, Ivy.” He sinks deep, holding himself there, which makes my nerves go haywire. “The way your tight little body squeezes me.”

My insides are melted butter, and even through the mind-blowing way Xade makes love to me, I’m aware enough to hear those words. I slip into this heavenly place in my head all the more, taking everything he doles out.

It’s not long before I feel him thickening inside me, somehow even harder, and there’s a moment of concern as I realize that we’re in the shower and not next to the nightstand with our supplies.

But just as the worry threatens to steal my pleasure, Xaden slides himself free, patting my clit with his blunt head.

The impacts rocket me toward the finish line, and I whimper, biting the back of my hand so I don’t scream. My body roars through the release, my legs trembling.

“There’s my girl.”

I hear him groan behind me, ragged and desperate, and then he lets out a low moan. Warmth spills over my thigh, and I smile, knowing that Xaden’s found a way to enjoy a release.

He’s given me three, after all. The guy deserves at least one.

The frenzy calms, and when I turn around, Xaden looks like he’s run a marathon.

“Ha, oh, hun. You should probably get downstairs, though. I still have a bit of cleaning up to do now.”

Xade smirks, leaning down for a kiss before rinsing off in the spray and stepping out of the shower.

“I’ll see you down there.”

Smiling and shaking my head, I sit on the bench to catch my breath. “Sounds good, babe.”

Well, that’s one way to start a morning. Today is going to be great.

A rare warm morning greets us as I take Daisy across the street to the park. When I saw how nice the forecast was, I knew that today would be the perfect chance to get in a little more outside time before it gets too cold.

Daisy was more than happy to have a chance to play on the swings and jungle gym, and I’m happy to help Xaden by getting her out of the house for a little while.

Something tells me that he’s a little behind this morning.

“Slide! Come on, Ivy!”

Smiling, I nod at her. “All right! I’m right behind you!”

Daisy runs off toward the park’s tall playground structure, and I hurry along after the exuberant ball of energy. As I stand at the end of the slide, waiting to catch her, I get that feeling like someone is standing behind me, and I glance over my shoulder.

“Oh, hi, Amy.”

I’m immediately tense. What are the odds of running into her here? Still, I see that she has a kid with her, a little boy, and I have to assume it’s her son.

“You sure look cozy over at Xaden’s. Doing your due diligence to scope out the joint?”

Amy’s tone is biting, and I shake my head, trying to understand what the hell she’s getting at.

“I’m sorry, what? I’m not sure I know what you mean.”

She glares at me, sending her son to play up in the jungle gym. “You know exactly what I’m getting at. You’ve been awfully chummy with Xaden. Don’t think I haven’t noticed how much time you’ve spent in the house. If anything goes missing, I’ll know exactly who to search."

My jaw drops, and I’m just able to catch Daisy on time, having heard her come down. I scoop her up, giving her my best smile, and then encourage her to go play some more.

“I’ll be right there, Daisy. I just need to talk with your dad’s friend, Amy.”

Daisy’s eyes are wide as she nods, offering a half-hearted wave to my combatant for the day before she runs off.

“I apologize if something might have given you the wrong impression, but I’m not trying to steal from Xaden. I care about Daisy and respect him far too much to ever try something like that.”

Amy scoffs, folding her arms over her chest. “Sure. That’s what the last nanny said. Look, Xaden has been my friend for years. I’ll do whatever I can to protect him.”

Blinking slowly as I let out a rough exhale, my head drops before I meet Amy’s glare again.

“Your concern for him is very sweet. I know what it’s like to care about someone so much that you worry about them all the time. I do the same with my sister. But I promise you, I’m not looking to hurt Xaden. He’s an amazing father and a good man.”

Eyeing me, Amy doesn’t look like she’s relenting any time soon. I don’t understand why she feels so strongly or what I could have done to piss her off so much.

But then it hits me.

The way Amy is acting doesn’t quite line up with a platonic concern, and I remember the conversation I heard her have with Xaden.

She likes him. Amy’s…jealous.

A lightbulb moment for sure. So much of the woman’s behavior makes sense now, and I wonder how long she’s felt this way about him.

Did she have feelings for Xaden when he was married? That’s a fucking problem.

Furthermore, Sam has said that Amy has basically pushed away or made life hell for every nanny and babysitter Xaden has had. She’s sabotaging them.

I’m not about to say any of that out loud, but damn, it does put things into rather sharp perspective.

Well, at the very least, I won’t blurt anything out.

With a sigh, I step back from Amy, physically disengaging with her, and she cocks a brow at me.

“Amy, look, have a great rest of the day at the park. I’m going to take Daisy to the swings over there. If you have something you want to tell Xaden, I suggest you do it so that you can get your answer. I won’t say anything to him about today because I want to give you the benefit of the doubt. But please,” I lower my head, my stare zeroing in on her, “allow me to take care of Daisy. Interrupting her playing with this isn’t right.”

I don’t wait for a response from her, simply turning around and calling for Daisy to come swing with me. The little girl is happy to come along, and we cross over to the far side of the park where we can swing away from Amy.

A glare from yards away is all I’m met with when I sit next to Daisy on the swings, but I don’t let it sour our time here. We’re going to swing and enjoy the weather before we have to go home.

The remainder of our time in the park goes by without issue. However, a big part of that is because Amy left with her son almost immediately after Daisy and I started swinging.

Still, I’m glad that the interruption didn’t ruin our outing.

Just before I pull out of the parking lot to go home and get some lunch before her nap, I unlock my phone on the dash to send a quick text to Xaden that we’re on our way back.

I’ve had my phone on silent, and when I look at the screen, I realize that I’ve missed another message from my father.

My stomach clenches, and I make sure not to show my anxiety on my face. I don’t want Daisy worried because my asshole dad can’t leave me alone.

I also know that I should just delete the thing and move on, but I see the start of the message in the preview, and those first few words make me open it.

Vivi, you can’t ignore me forever. Give me the money I asked for. Or expect an in-person visit. Time’s a-wasting, sweetie. Tick tock .

“I’m hungry, Ivy.”

Shaking out of myself, I trash the message as I call out over my shoulder. “Okay, honey. We’re going. We’ll get some lunch at home.”

I send the message to Xaden and then start the car, taking off for the house a little faster than usual.

I can’t keep doing this. I…dammit.
