Chapter Eight

Nix

Due to time zone differences within the United States and Canada, Nix could play a game and still make it back to the hotel to watch one of his brothers’ games. He had fifteen minutes until Aries’s game started, and the elevator was so slow!

“Calm down. Dancing around in the elevator won’t make it move any faster,” Evan murmured.

If they had got off on the sixth floor where Nix’s room was located, they would already be in his room and have the game on. Instead, Evan had insisted that they go to his room on the thirty-fourth floor. In the slow elevator.

The entire team was spread throughout the hotel in their own rooms. They had managed to get an elevator to themselves.

Probably because not everyone from the team had gone straight back to the hotel.

Several of their teammates were headed to a nearby restaurant or the hotel bar but Nix wanted to watch Aries play.

He never missed a game if he could help it.

Evan had promised room service and cuddling so of course Nix agreed.

He got to cuddle their goalie. All his teammates should be jealous of him.

Not that the team knew there would be cuddling happening in Evan’s room.

So much cuddling. Hopefully even more than that.

Nix couldn’t get the blowjob he’d received out of his head.

He wanted to taste Evan in the same manner, but Evan had rules!

Now it was pretty well known in his family that Nix didn’t do well with rules. In his humble opinion, rules were meant to be broken. Evan didn’t agree. He actually said no sex twenty-four hours before the game. No sex! At least no coming for Evan.

The game was over which had to mean that Nix was going to get sex later, right? He really wanted sex! He was going to go sex-crazed soon. Was that a thing? Nix felt like that was totally a thing.

The bossier that Evan became, the more Nix wanted to hump him.

Ever since Evan had shown up at Nix’s door that morning with breakfast sandwiches and juice, he’d taken complete control over Nix. He’d even insisted that Nix sit by him on the plane instead of by Laney.

Not that anyone on the team looked like they wanted to argue with Evan when he decided something. Nix’s man was all kinds of hot and sexy when he barked orders.

Evan had even insisted that Nix call his mom to assure her that he was okay after the fight on ice.

Nix might have been putting it off since he didn’t want his mom disappointed in him, but Evan had said they wouldn’t leave for the airport until Nix made the call.

He’d done it and his mom was happy to hear from him.

Not mad at all. She also hadn’t mentioned anything about the threat that Gem was worried about so Nix didn’t think his brother had shared that with her and neither had Nix.

After Nix called his mom like a good boy, Evan had made sure they had everything for the away games.

Evan was such a gentleman. He even carried Nix’s bags.

The team might not know they were together, but it wasn’t like either of them were hiding it. If they didn’t know, it was because they weren’t paying attention. Evan had said that Nix was obvious but so was he.

Evan had kept Nix occupied with snacks, a handheld game, and even stories about a cousin that he was close to and had promised Nix that he’d meet soon.

Nix was obsessed with Evan’s stories. He was the best storyteller of all time.

A happy night would be lying in Evan’s arms as he heard more dragon tales.

After they’d landed, the team had headed straight for the arena.

Evan had stashed more of Nix’s favorite treats that he’d baked for after a quick-and-easy practice.

All Nix had to worry about was the game in front of him. It had been nice. Calming. Evan handled the hard stuff and Nix got to be his happy self. A total win for him!

There was the small secret that he still hadn’t shared with Evan. It wasn’t Nix’s fault. Right after he’d gotten the call from Gem, Evan had shown up, and everything was happening so fast!

The knowledge that some of the other hockey players might be out to get him was probably something that he should have told Evan right away.

Oops! His bad. Nix had been careful though.

Once his skates had hit the ice that night, Nix had paid close attention to the team across from him.

There were some hostile looks sent his way but nothing that Nix felt was off.

He’d vowed to Gem that he would be careful but through the entire game, that they’d totally won, but it hadn’t been necessary. Nix hadn’t been targeted any more than at any other game.

“Hey!”

Nix was yanked over to Evan’s side. He blinked up. “Huh?”

“Our floor,” Evan tilted his head toward the open elevator doors.

Oh. He’d gotten lost in his head. Nix rushed forward to catch the doors before they closed. Dragging Evan down the hall by the hand, Nix was back to bouncing. Not only was he anxious not to miss any Aries’s game but food and cuddling and hopefully sex. Lots of sex.

They would fly out early the next morning and arrive in New York for practice and stay the night before a game the day after. Nix was totally calculating how many hours until Evan’s no-sex rule went into play.

“Slow down, boy,” Evan grumbled.

“If you let me carry my own bag, maybe you’d walk faster,” Nix pointed out. Not that he wanted to carry his bag, but he was kind of a brat. It was fun to brat. Evan kept threatening to put Nix over his knee and there was the whole being tied up thing. Those things needed to happen.

“How about I carry you and our bags?”

Nix nearly stumbled over his own feet. Luckily Evan was able to keep Nix upright and hold on to their bags. Nix couldn’t force his feet to move forward. He stared at Evan as every fantasy he’d ever kept hidden slammed into him.

“Nix?” Evan pulled him closer while smirking. “Your heart just started beating so fast. Is that something you would like? Being carried around by Daddy?”

He swallowed hard before giving a slow nod.

“Our room,” Evan said sternly then urged Nix toward the hotel door.

Nix allowed Evan to move him forward. He waited until Evan unlocked the door before shuffling inside.

“Go ahead and climb on the bed and find the game. I’ll put our things away then order some dinner,” Evan told him.

“And treats?” Nix asked. “I got one assist in the game tonight. And you had another shutout. We deserve treats.” He ran and jumped on the bed then flopped over to his stomach. Oh! What a nice big, soft bed.

“I’ll get some dessert, but you need to eat all your dinner first.”

“Yes, Daddy,” Nix teased. “I’ll be a good boy and eat all my dinner.”

Evan’s eyes glowed gold for a brief moment.

Interesting. Very interesting.

Nix grinned. Evan really liked Nix calling him that. It was so nice to have something that could make Evan react like that.

Evan narrowed his eyes before dropping their bags next to the desk along the wall. “Keep it up, boy. We still need to have a discussion about limits. You don’t want to push yours.”

Nix gave Evan a saucy wink. “I already told you that I don’t have any limits. I am yours to command.”

Evan’s gaze was locked on his as he stalked to the bed.

Nix did begin to grow a little nervous. He had only seen that look on Evan’s face once, right after he’d blown Nix the first time, when he’d declared Nix as his.

It took everything in him to keep grinning. Playing the brat. That was what fun he wanted to have.

Evan placed a knee on the mattress beside Nix’s leg. “Turn over.”

Rolling onto his back, Nix gazed up at Evan as his goalie straddled his thighs.

“You pushing for a reason? If it’s the Daddy thing—”

“I already told you that I was one-hundred-percent on board with you being my Daddy,” Nix said. “Not just calling you Daddy but letting you Daddy all over me.”

Evan cupped his face. “No joking, boy. I want real answers.”

“I am giving you a real answer. I want you to be my Daddy. I want you to have control over me. I need your dominance. I like being a brat sometimes. I know that you won’t get mad at me. Not really. That I can push and it’s okay.”

“It’s okay,” Evan assured him. “That doesn’t mean there won’t be consequences.”

Nix swallowed hard. “I’m not scared of the consequences.”

“Is that right? I can hear your heart racing,” Evan told him.

“I don’t want you to get tired of me. I’m not new to kink or even BDSM. I’ve played in clubs before.”

Evan’s fingers tightened on Nix’s chin. “Why didn’t you tell me this sooner?”

“Do you really want to hear about every man I’ve fucked?” Nix asked crudely. Still pushing. Still needing.

Evan’s gold eyes flashed bright.

“See! You don’t. And I don’t really want to talk about them. None of them mattered. Not like you do. I just know that after I play with someone, they usually lose interest in me. I don’t want that to happen this time,” Nix confessed.

Evan smiled. “The difference is that we’re not playing around, boy. I told you that you were mine. I meant that. A dragon is very possessive of what they consider theirs. I’ve shared the stories of when a dragon chooses their human partner. Does that give you any idea how serious I am taking this?”

“You say that now—” Nix began.

“I don’t change my mind about things like this,” Evan said. “It might seem fast but that is only because I’d already thought about us together, the consequences, and all the ways I want to claim you.”

“You promise?” Nix’s voice shook but he couldn’t help it. It was fast but Nix was sure this time. He could be himself. He’d shared glimpses of himself with Evan even before they were intimate.

“Baby, I would give you the world if you wanted it,” Evan declared.

“I don’t want the world,” Nix said. “I just want you.”

Lowering his head, Evan kissed Nix gently. “You want me even if I come with lots of rules? That I’ll let you brat then tie you up and spank that sweet ass of yours?”

“Yes!” Nix hissed.
