Chapter 67 Ily2m #2

“You um, want to hang out sometime?” She offers but I’m not sure. I don’t know her and I don’t want to cause Nickoi any trouble. Or get on his nerves.

“Sounds nice but I’m always busy,” I tell her. I’m basically saying no, just tactfully.

“Okay, well you can always stop by and we talk or if you want to take my number, I could really work with some friends,” she breathes.

“That’s fine, I’ll stop by and say hi another time. Nice meeting you though Jasmine,” I say and walk after exchanging goodbyes. When I reach the gate, Nickoi is standing at the door.

I gulp.

I walk through the smaller side, which is rarely used since we are always driving. I smile at Joe walking over to Nickoi.

“I went for a walk,” I tell him and he nods. He pecks the babies lips before he pecks mine.

“That’s okay man and you met Jasmine,” he surprise me.

“Yeah she’s nice but mi decline her offers,” I tell him. “She wants to be friends.”

“Good girl,” he smiles. I laugh but a little part of me is wondering why he agrees that I decline her offers. I mean, maybe he’s just being Nickoi.

…or maybe there’s something.

I breeze it and ask Nicki what she made for breakfast and she shares it after saying, “Ackee and salt fish with fry breadfruit. Mi have steam cabbage too.”

She puts down the plate and I thank her.

“No problem baby love mi a go finish wash the baby onesies,” she tells us. She usually helps with their laundry on weekends.

I start eating.

“Mi love it and it smell good too,” I compliment. Nicki chuckles and walk out. As I eat I look at Nickoi. He holds up Zahir making his toes touch the fur carpet-like an attempt to make him walk.

My eyes darts to Zahira. She’s sitting next to her daddy while playing with the Tv remote. I watch her if she’s putting it in her mouth and when she’s not, my mind runs on the gym.

“We going to the gym today babe yuh member?” My eyes on him.

He looks at me. “Yeah mi member.” He looks back at Zahir and I focus on eating.

After that, I approach Zahira as Nickoi bonds with Zahir for now. She looks at me and makes up her face to cry when I attempt to lift her up. My mouth gapes and I clutch my heart.

“Me you a do so miss?”

“Come on let’s go upstairs,” I lift her and to my surprise, she’s quiet.

I ascend the stairs with her. As I do, she stares fascinatingly at my bonnet.

I push the door and place her on the bed.

She has her cute little pout as she plays with the cushions.

I smile to myself and start pecking her finger and she ignores me.

I start kissing her cheeks and she giggles.

“Ye man,” I laugh. My phone rings and I notice that Gavin is calling me on FaceTime. I slide the screen while fixing the button on Zahira’s clothes.

“Rise and shine!” his voice blares through the speaker.

I laugh. “You know you really nuh affi loud so,” he starts laughing too.

“Mi have to loud fi the people dem a the back!” He grins.

“Chro,” I smile because he’s the King of comebacks.

“How you sleep?”

“Good,” I retort and he tilts his head looking at me.

“What?” I’m conscious.

“You nuh plan fi give me more God children?” He teases and I smile sheepishly.

“No,” I say.

“Yuh sure?” he asks.

“Yes, wah do yuh Gavin?” I can’t stop laughing when I’m talking with him.

“You a glow sah, like yaw firefly,” he says in a funny tone. He’s smiling mischievously.

“Why you say that?” I ask.

“Cause you a glow,” he answers while biting a burger.

“Ohh,” I say then I decide to change the topic. “Isn’t it too early for burger?”

“It never too early fi full mi gut mi love,” he answers taking another bite. Ishake my head while smiling. Zahira grabs my bonnet in her fist, tugging at it while grabbing my hair in the process.

“Ow!” I hold my head down trying to take it from her grip while Gavin cracks up on the phone, calling his friend to look. I finally loosen her grip.

“Ma,” she says. She wants to hold it, I see. I take it off, allowing my hair to flow down as I put it on her head. She’s still holding it and I start focusing on the call again.

“Zai bad up a gyal and tek wah she want!” Gavin jokes when he’s now seeing my wig. I hiss playfully.

“Zai mi baby a so we go at it in life, we go fi wah we want you hear?” Gavin says making me laugh more.

“Zai fascinated by everything weh she nuh suppose to touch,” I tell him.

He chuckles.

“Anyways you know say the boy weh Sash did a talk to up a the shop, and har deh though? Sash say a did her high school boyfriend and him did migrate and the relationship mash up,” Gavin says surprising me.

“Wow mi did know mi see something spark,” I smile.

“Yuh think a you one? Mi seh last night mi hear dem a talk pan phone enuhand mi a tell you say the boy love har and him bring out the best version of her. Him all a say him would a buy a house here and them live there since Sash nuh wah go a foreign yet,” Gavin says. Eeeh?

“Nosah then nuh serious relationship that?” I ask with a big grin on my face.

“Yes a that mi a say!” Gavin grins.

“Mi love this fi har,” I smile. She was always searching for real love. And a search fi it in a the wrong guys. Glad this boy come back.

“Mi love it too, finally mi naffi a carry belly fi har relationship again,” he breathes. When we’re done discussing Sash I hang up. I open my camera to take a picture of Zai since she’s rocking my bonnet with her cute self.

“Zai,” I call and she looks up like I’m bothering her. Her eyebrows furrowed but she’s still so cute.

My miserable baby girl.

When I take it I start laughing because she looks so miserable in the picture. I quickly send it to my mom, mama, Gavin, my dad and her daddy.

NICKOI

It’s been a while since I’ve been to the gym and finally I’m here because of Zara. We’ve been here for an hour now and it’s good, I’m on a break though. As I relax I admire her as she lifts the dumb-bell with her trainer next to her.

“You doing good Zara, keep going,” she instructs and ambles towards the next girls.

“Girls I want twenty squats!” She says and they start doing it immediately. I watch them for a while but Zara has my attention the most.

She’s just sexy.

Like a this yuh deh ya fa…

Precisely.

An Instagram message pops up on my phone and I check the profile and notice that it’s one of the girls in the room. I look across at her and she’s staring back.

I seen her message purposely before I click off. Zara approaches me, breathing heavily. She picks up her towel and wipe her face with her eyes on me.

“Wah you wah eat?” I ask her and watch as she ponders for a few seconds. Then an idea comes to my mind.

“Mi nuh know babe… um uh,” she struggles and I put my index on her lip. She smiles sweetly.

“I know where I’m taking you,” I smirk. “But we affi leave now so we can go home and get ready.”

She smiles, moving her hair behind her ear.

“Date?”

“Yah.”

“I love you,” she tells me and I peck her lips, knowing the other girl might be watching. I kiss her a little longer biting on her lip and when our eyes connects I laugh.

“I love you too,” I tell her.
