29. Amelie
Amelie
THREE NIGHTS UNTIL WINTER SOLSTICE…
“ A melie, please…” Kiaran choked out as he continued dripping water on me.
I tried to speak but the pain that consumed my mind didn’t allow for the connection to my voice. The world was black, the darkness was swallowing me, but I wasn’t afraid. Somehow I knew that if I never woke up, I’d be okay falling asleep here in Kiaran’s lap forever.
I understood the tether now. In my soul, I knew how it worked, where it started, where it had been and where it led. When Evari passed the point of ever coming back to life, Orla would’ve needed to find a center. Somewhere to come back to, she came to the only home she knew and she stayed there.
She was Fern.
She found me in Holleberg, she showed me what was to come.
Orla made sure I knew we could beat the High Priestess. Generations of Morgenstern magic had been brewing behind veils for hundreds of years in wait for me.
Kiaran was tucking my hair behind my ear, breathing slow and controlled. I wanted to stay like this. Relive the feeling of my soul’s awakening.
Before that blissful dream ended, something eternal changed in me.
Orla guided me, telling me about her life and relaying what she’d read about Evari’s childhood in Avonya.
The history between the High Priestess and Evari Morgenstern dating back so far that it was more than just their exiling to the Forest that doomed our family.
“My mother kept very detailed journals about her life, it feels like I actually know her.” Orla gazed deep into the white abyss we were walking through, a fondness toward the mother she never got to know welling in her waterline.
“Before my mother veiled herself, the step before she gave me the elixir, she placed a spell upon our bloodline. One that only allowed for our awakening to come after we understood what it meant to be a Morgenstern and the fury held for Avonya’s High Priestsess.
Once that is recognized, you’re allowed to see where your life will go should you choose to cross into immortality.
” She brushed away a tear that betrayed her.
Her snow white hair waved and curled like a breeze was passing through, but there wasn’t one.
She was absolutely radiant.
“So, dear child, should you choose to see what lies beyond, know that it means your star will become permanent in the night sky. Forever and eternity. You cannot look back at what life could’ve been like otherwise.”
I didn’t need to think twice, I knew I needed more time. Orla’s hand took mine and I nodded to her. My heart thudding in my ears in wait of what would come next.
I hoped God was watching over me now and that my pleas to him weren’t falling on deaf ears as they had for most of my life. I hoped he and Frea were working together to clear the pool of black settling in my brain.
“Amelie…” Kiaran pressed soft kisses to my forehead, then my cheek, then the other, the last one landing on the tip of my nose .
Drop, drop, drop , rippling through my mind and clearing the blackness that blanketed it.
Kiaran was crying over me.
His tears were pouring out so rapidly I felt as though I might drown as they wet my lips. The darkness began to fade, the tears were washing it away. My body felt heavy and tired but I knew my soul was fighting. It was trying to smother the darkness and allow light to shine through.
Kiaran’s distraught, panicked face came into view, a memory I wanted gone as fast as it came.
He was folded over me, squeezing my shoulders tight to his stomach as I laid over his lap. “Kiaran?” I managed to say. His body stiffened, still holding me close.
“Say it again.”
“Kiaran.” My voice rasped.
Peeling himself back to look at me, he studied my face for a moment before collapsing into my chest. “Don’t scare me like that again, pretty girl.”
My head was aching from coming back from the near dead but the sense of fear I’d felt when I saw Orla in the cellar was gone.
My bones felt strong, my eyes burned as the gold began to dance, an all knowing power flooded over me and if it weren’t for the pounding in my brain, I’d jump up to tell Kiaran everything right now.
But Orla said this awakening would be exhausting before it surged.
Kiaran began pressing kisses all over my face. Every inch of my cheeks, my nose, over both of my eyes and finally my tear stained lips.
“I was so worried,” he admitted against my mouth. Wrapping my hand behind his neck, I pulled him back into me.
“Amelie…” He tried again as I found the muscle on the side of his neck, trailing my tongue along it.
“Can we talk about it later, please?” I whispered. Energy started pumping in my veins, bursting out and looking for something to satiate the new found hunger in my body .
Take me upstairs.
As if I willed by my words, hopes and dreams alone–Kiaran did as he was told.
He slipped his arm under my back and tightened his hold around my waist, lifting me up and turning me toward him. Gripping my thigh, he pulled me over his lap to straddle him.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” His voice was coarse.
“I’m fine.” I thought. “But I need you, now .”
I wasn’t sure what he saw in my face as he searched it, but it was enough for him to give me what I wanted in this moment.
He buried his face into my neck, hungrily kissing and sucking as he stood with me wrapped around him.
Kiaran walked to the stairs and up to the attic, his lips never leaving my neck.
At the top, he pressed my back into the wall and took my mouth with his.
I matched his need and slipped my tongue through his lips which he welcomed with a groan.
His length hardened between us and I slipped a hand down to grip him, earning me another rumble in his chest.
“Promise me that you’re okay…” he whispered in a breath.
I cupped his cheeks, forcing him to look at me. “I have never felt better.”
It was mostly the truth. Aside from the headache that was slowly being clouded by arousal, I felt stronger now than I’d ever been before. I saw more clearly, felt things deeper. The answer to everything was placed at the center of my soul and the light of my life was positioned between my legs.
We have a lifetime ahead of us and Orla blessed me by showing me that.
I looked deep into his eyes, passed the crystalline blues and into the soul that gave him life, and let my heart bleed for him.
“I love you.”
He came undone at the confession. I could finally say it. I deserved this. I deserved to be happy. So did he .
He got on his knees for me then propped my legs over his shoulders. Pausing, he looked up at me. Blue eyes piercing through the moon washed room.
“You love me?”
I tangled my fingers in his thick, curls. “I love you.”
I swore I saw tears pool in his eyes but he hid them away from me as he bunched my skirt around my hips. Kiaran wasted no time pressing his skillful tongue against my sensitive nerves. He loved to be gentle with me, tease me. Make me wait for it.
But not right now.
What he must’ve felt while I was veiled. The worry.
It was all laid out in this room as he ravaged me.
Two of his fingers entered me while his other hand was splayed firmly across my stomach keeping me in place against the wall. Kiaran curled his fingers and pressed the spot I craved his touch on over and over again as he expertly sucked and nipped at my center.
My fingers were tangled in his hair, I needed more. I tugged, hoping to send that message but he was busy. Rolling my hips forward, Kiaran’s eyes flitted to mine, dark and hungry for me.
He stood and slid my legs back down around his waist and walked us over to the bed.
He threw me down on it, spreading my legs with his knees and beginning to undo his pants.
As he slid them down and moved to meet me, I grabbed his hand and gave him my most devilish eyes.
The gold sparked. I felt it telling him how badly I wanted him inside of me but with what I knew now I wanted to give him everything.
“Can I?” I asked, tilting my chin down then looking back up at him through my lashes.
A tight smile met his lips as he backed himself off the bed.
“Lay down. Head over here.”
I popped my head to the side in intrigue. Following his orders, I turned to lay on my back, my hair falling off the edge of his plush bed.
“Come closer to me,” he directed, lightly caressing my shoulders toward him.
“Like this?”
He smiled at me, confirming I was in the right spot. The nape of my neck curved over the edge.
“Open.” He caressed my cheek before pressing his thumb through my lips. I did as I was told and sucked gently. A preview.
Kiaran held his thick length in his hand, stroking it. His eyes fluttered and a deep groan escaped him as he watched.
“Stick out your tongue.” His voice was gravely.
I had never done this before. But I wanted to submit to him. I needed him to know he had me forever. All of me.
Stroking himself slowly as he watched me serve his desire, he bent down and pressed a kiss to my forehead. Then he slipped the straps of my dress down my shoulders and moved the top of my dress down to my waist, giving him a perfect view of my breasts.
Good girl , he praised as he slid the tip into my mouth. I didn’t understand why my tongue needed to be out until he continued to slide further in and reached the back of my throat with ease.
“Fuck. You are taking it so well, baby,” he reassured me like always.
I felt him throbbing in my mouth, he pulled out and rounded the other side of the bed, crawling up and fitting himself once again between my legs. Pulling my body back up on to the bed, he pressed a light kiss to my lips and whispered, “I love you.”
“I love you .”
Kiaran paused, like he didn’t believe it the first time I said it, but did now. Unshed tears pricked his eyes again, disbelief etched across his face as if only now realizing that this was love.
“Say it again.” Hope flitted through his gorgeous eyes. The colors between us beaming .
