Chapter 13Reason
"What?"She asked, with a hint of playfulness.
I huffed a deep breathe and then decided to cut to the chase because I knew at this pace she wasn't going to confess anything."Since when have you liked Christopher?"
She began to play with her fingers, something she did when she was nervous and then she looked back up at me."Ever since grade school."A tear escaped her eyes and I couldn't help but hug her."I keep thinking maybe he will notice me one day but now......"She trailed off wiping her tears."I've always loved him."
"Oh honey, why didn't you ever tell me?"I asked, hugging her tighter.
"Because I thought our friendship would end if I told you."She continued to cry on my shoulder as I led her to the bathroom.
I helped her wash her face as she tried to calm down.
"If it makes you feel better I doubt his marriage with the Evil Queen will last longer then a couple of months."We both chuckled, as she wiped her eyes with a paper towel.
"What does she have that I don't?"She asked, looking at her reflection in the mirror.
"Um well first off your very kind, generous, intelligent, your not a raging bitch, and your ten times as beautiful inside and out."I patted her back and a smile played across her face."I know if I told you to forget him.It won't happen so I'm going to allow you to obsess over my dumb ass brother even though he doesn't deserve you.Deal."
She nodded,"Deal."We both chuckled heading back.
"Baby you have to convince your father to give you what's rightfully yours."Annabelle said, for the nth time I was getting completely sick of it.
She was driving me insane.
"There's no one to convince.My father has made up his mind and once he's made up his mind there's no going back.Besides maybe Venus deserves it more -"I began but was cut off by Annabelle.
"Don't you dare.Not for a second think that she deserves it more than you."She hissed, glaring in her direction.
"And besides Annabelle how do you want me to claim the CEO and our tribe leader position when I don't have an heir.You do realize I need a wife who can provide me with an heir so I can claim it."She rolled her eyes and I folded my arms across my chest.
I of course stated the obvious but she hated hearing anything associated with children but I should have known the moment she threatened me to tell everyone I took her virginity before marriage, if I didn't marry her.
I will not lie I slept with her because I thought our relationship was getting somewhere but if I would have known she was going to trap me it would have never happened.
"Well you have a wife."She stated, with a mock smile.
"Yes a wife who can not provide me with an heir."I replied, making her eyes go wide.
"You know I don't want children."She claimed burying her head into her hands.
To be honest this pained me.I wanted children.I wanted to become a father but she was worried about her physical appearance to the public so I couldn't do anything about it.
I shook my head."And I realize that but as stated by our ancestors if you do not provide me with an heir after two to three years I will have to remarry."Her head cocked in my direction and I could see her visibly gulp.
"What are you implying."She chuckled, nervously.
"It wouldn't do you any good if I was the leader of our family tribe.So I suggest you drop the subject once and for all." I barked pointing my index finger towards the ground and she shook her head.
Annabelle was the reason I was being rude to my baby sister and I couldn't believe like the idiot I was, I was allowing her to get to me.
I left Annabelle and began to walk in Venus's direction.
I heard Annabelle huff a deep breathe and mumble some things under her breathe.
"Hey shrimp cake......hey Venus."Both Venus and Gina rolled there eyes.
Well it looks like I have a lot of repairing to do.
Gina is looking pretty hot today.
What the fuck was I doing thats not even the purpose of this conversation.
"She's not small why the hell do you call her that cringey nickname?"Venus asked, twisting her hand in a questioning manner.
