Chapter 29 Shock
I looked at him confusion very visible in my eyes.
Did he not see that I was behind bars or was he just blind?
"Your loaded, you have a stunning wife, a baby on the way and you were proven innocent one hour before your trail. If that's not luck by definition than I don't know what is,"He smiles broadly as he undoes the lock to the cell.
"What do you mean proven innocent?"I asked while walking out of the jail cell."Did you guys find who accused me?"He nodded, making little to no eye contact with me."Who is he?"
He looks at me sympathy visible on his features." Yes actually we did find him but it's best if you find out for your self who accused of such a vile crime," He said, looking anywhere but me.
I chuckled lightly." Wh...y?"
He locked the door to the cell and then left leaving me hanging.
I decided to think nothing of it and exited the room only to be totally shocked to see Luca in handcuffs guarded by two police guards.
I don't know how to describe the feelings I felt at that moment but I know they weren't ones of joy but I do recall asking him a question that I so badly wanted the answer to that I asked him in the middle of the station.
" What did I ever do to you,"I began by looking him in the eyes trying to seem unfazed by all that was occurring." to deserve betrayal countless of times?"
He chuckled sarcastically while rolling his eyes."Simple,"He smirked running his tongue against his lips."you were you."
It was my turn to roll my eyes."So what your saying is no matter what I did you always disliked me."
He smiled." No, brother you completely misunderstood. What I'm trying to say is,"He ushered for me to come closer and I did."I loathe your presence," He whispered looking directly into my eyes while quickly pulling the police officers gun from his belt and pointing it at my stomach.
My heart was beating too quickly for me to keep up with because all I was thinking about at that minute was I was going to die without seeing me daughter come into this world and die before I got to say good bye to her beautiful mother the love of my life.
A gun shot was heard drawing me from my train of thoughts. Without hesitation I examined myself throughly when I saw it wasn't me who was fired at I looked at Luca only to find him covered in blood.
I only looked up when I heard the sound of a gun dropping only to find a unfazed Venus looking back at me with a gun in her hands.
