Chapter 9

Cyn

Hawk had my back arched so deeply that I felt like it could snap, but the way he was pounding my pussy, I didn’t care about having a vertebra at the moment.

“Fuck, this pussy is so fucking good. Shit, I’m going to nut.

” He pulled out with a loud grunt, and then I felt his tongue circling my box from behind.

Hawk sucked on my clit long enough to make me cum on his mouth again, and then he slipped his dick back inside me, taking his time with his stroke until he felt comfortable enough to start pounding my pussy again.

I grunted, grabbing the covers like they were the only thing keeping me from falling off a cliff.

“Don’t hold that shit in. Let me hear you baby.”

WACK!

The way Hawk slapped my ass would’ve hurt like hell had his dick not been inside of me, but right now I loved that shit.

I loved everything about Hawk being rough with me.

It had been forever since I had sex, but it had been a lifetime of not getting sex like this.

When I thought Hawk was deep, he showed me he could go deeper.

When I thought I was screaming, he made me moan even louder.

He and I fucked so long, my body was legit trembling once he got done with me.

Then he and I collapsed on the bed, breathing hard as fuck in straight silence.

Hawk was lost for words, just like I was.

“You like warm or cold?”

“Warm or cold what?”

“Towels?” He asked, sitting up on the side of the bed.

“Why would I want cold?” My eyes burrowed.

“I’m sure your pussy will be sore again soon. Why not get on it before it swells?”

“Yeah, you're right.”

Hawk stood up from the bed and then walked out of the room into his restroom while I laid there reflecting on the hours I’d just spent with him.

Post nut clarity was trying to force its way in, but I wasn’t allowing it.

The money I could lose was going to be put in the back of my mind for now, and I was going to enjoy this tingling feeling floating through my body.

When Hawk came back into the bedroom, he handed me a warm white towel and a cool black towel that felt like a cube of ice.

“Damn, this is cold as hell. Your water gets that cold?”

He chuckled.

“Nah, I put it inside the mini freezer in the restroom for a couple of minutes, and the warm towel went into the towel warmer.”

“Why do you have a mini freezer in your restroom? I’ve never heard of that before?” I asked, while rubbing the warm towel across my lady parts.

“Nina keeps a lot of her facial products and shit inside there. She says it helps keep everything potent.”

“Oh, okay.” I went quiet, and he sat back down on the bed.

“You always this chill, or is it a front you do for niggas you just meet?”

“I wouldn’t front for any man I just met. Why do that, and what we are doing is just sex?”

“Damn, you say that like I’m a piece of meat.”

“Well, you are.”

I said sarcastically, and he understood because he laughed.

Hawk got up from the bed once again and searched the floor for his clothes, which I’m sure meant it was time for me to do the same.

“What is the address again so that I can call an Uber here?”

“I’m not going to lie, you rushing off is making me believe that piece of meat thing now. Why won’t you stay for a minute? I can have some breakfast brought up for us.”

“Breakfast?” I looked out of the window and saw that it was indeed time for breakfast. As much as fear made me want to run, the way Hawk looked, the luxury of this condo, and the thought of a warm breakfast on an empty stomach did sound good.

“Okay, I’ll eat and then get back to the girls.”

“Alright. Bet.” He replied without asking any further questions and walked out of the room.

I went into the restroom and went into his drawers plundering around until I found a stash of never been used toothbrushes and brushed my teeth before turning on the shower.

I didn’t have to search far for products to use because Nina had plenty of high-end products on a shelf inside the large step-in shower.

I lathered up with soap on a towel I got from the towel cabinet, and the smell of fruit filled the room as my skin was coated with a product that made it feel soft as hell.

Once I was done, I stepped out and put on a robe that was hanging next to the door.

Then I walked out to the hallway and followed the scent of food all the way to the kitchen.

On the counter was a whole spread of food, neatly sealed and laid out.

“How long have I been in the shower?”

“It doesn’t take long for them to get food up here to me. I’m a priority here.”

“I see.” I looked over the wide spread of eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, and other breakfast foods. There was so much that I couldn’t even decide where I would dig in first.

I grabbed a plate from the counter and went around picking up the items I wanted, then sat on the barstool to say a quick prayer in my head before I started eating.

Thank you so much, God, for your blessings and for making this holiday season a little better than the ones in the past. I pray that you continue to work on me and know I mean no harm with anything I do. I’m only trying to be happy. Amen.

I finished before opening my eyes and seeing Hawk staring at me like he saw a ghost.

“What?” I giggled, pouring syrup over one of my pancakes.

“Nothing. Just haven’t saw anyone say grace before they eat in a while.”

“Really? That is something that I always prioritize. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes it’s hard when the food looks as good as all of this does, but I will feel guilty without it.”

“That’s what’s up.” Hawk nodded his head, taking a bite of what looked like Canadian bacon.

As soon as I put the first bite of pancake in my mouth, my phone rang, and I rolled my eyes, irritated that someone was interrupting my breakfast. Not only was it someone interrupting, but it was Josiah’s annoying ass cousin Brandon, who only knew my number because at one point in time, Ari and Josiah tried to make us a thing.

We didn’t make it past the first date, though. He was way too immature for me.

“You're not going to answer your phone? Don’t worry, I know how to be quiet.”

“Yeah, I know. But I don’t know why this person is calling me.” The phone stopped ringing.

A text came through immediately, and the urgency and all-caps really threw me off.

Brandon: CALL ME BACK ASAP. We here at the hotel, calling Josiah, but he's not answering. We been in the lobby for over an hour trying to get in contact with Ari. I haven’t talked to this nigga since Friday, but he knew we were coming today.

I took a deep breath, and that got Hawk’s attention again.

“I promise, if you need to take the call, you can. I don’t think you will enjoy your food the way you should until you get whatever that is taken care of.” He read me like a fuckin book.

“You are right. Just let me see what is going on.”

I stood up from the counter, walked out of the kitchen, and down a hallway.

“Come on, Ari, pick up.” I talked to myself until the phone finally answered, just before the voicemail picked up.

Ari had sleep in her voice when she answered her phone.

“Hello?”

“Hey, has Brandon called you? They are in the lobby looking for Josiah to go upstairs.”

“Oh,” she cleared her throat.

“I didn’t see a call because I had my phone on Do Not Disturb. The only people who are able to get through are the ones I saved as favorites.”

“Oh, well yeah, they looking for him and saying that he isn’t answering.”

I could hear her sighing over the phone.

“Okay, that really concerns me because I thought it was just me that he was ignoring at this point. This is day two, and no word from him. I at least thought they had heard from him.”

“I’m not sure if they had yesterday, but they said he has pretty much been MIA since they got here.”

“Fuck. I think I’m about to call the police, this shit is giving me a bad feeling now.”

“Well, maybe he is in the room, knocked out, sleeping. We don’t know what he’s been doing the past few days.”

“Yeah, but sleep could be a bad thing if he’s hurt or got drugged or anything. I’m starting to get worried for real because if it isn’t that he’s in jail, or in that room fucked up, then that means he really did take that money and left.”

“What money?”

“Nothing, Cyn. Listen, I’m about to call the police to at least get a welfare check done on his hotel since they won’t let me up. I’ll call you back once I figure something out.”

“Okay, I will be heading to the room as soon as I finish eating.”

“Okay, I should be back there soon.”

“Okay,” I replied, hanging up the phone before I realized she said back in the room. Where was she at with sleep in her voice that wasn’t in the hotel room we all paid for?

When I got back into the kitchen, I guess my face full of wonder had him on the edge of his toes.

“You look even more concerned than you did before you took that call. Is there something going on?”

I shook my head.

“Not really, just my friend’s man being dumb and not answering anyone’s calls.” I shrugged my shoulders.

“Niggas known for coming down here and forgetting home.” Hawk shook his head, and I did too before digging back into my food until it was almost gone.

When we were both done with our food, Hawk told me that I didn’t even have to put my plate in the sink because his housekeeper was coming in the next thirty minutes to clean up.

I went into the room, and he followed me going into his closet and coming out fresh to death while I still looked like last night.

“Do you know where I go to get in my Uber? I know these hotels are crazy about where you can and cannot get picked up.”

“You don’t have to Uber. I can take you back that way. I have some business to handle anyway.”

“Okay,” I replied before I thought about it for a moment.

“But what about people seeing us. Aren’t you worried about?”

“I’m not worried about a damn thing.” He interrupted me.

“I’m honestly tired of worrying about this or that when it comes to Nina. Now put your clothes on and let’s roll. I got somewhere to be.”

I’m not sure if his hostility was for me or the fact that I brought up Nina, but I won’t be doing that shit anymore. Obviously, they have some shit to work through that doesn’t have anything to do with me.

Hawk and I took the private elevator down to the lobby, where we stood out front waiting for the car to come from the garage.

I can’t lie and say that I wasn’t nervous as hell.

I know Hawk said he has me if some shit goes down, but how do I know that?

How do I know Nina won’t sue the pants off my ass for fucking with the man I knew I wasn’t supposed to.

Once Hawk’s car pulled up front, we climbed inside and took off towards the hotel in a bit more traffic than I would’ve hoped, since I was trying to check on my friend. The music was playing low, and Hawk reached up to the speaker to turn it down even lower.

“Look, I apologize for going off back there. I’m just really fucked up in the head right now about a lot of shit with me and my girl.”

“It’s cool. I didn’t take offense to it. It is what it is.” I shrugged my shoulders.

“Man.” He shook his head.

“If only I could be around someone so nonchalant more. I’m engaged to someone who would’ve cried, packed her shit, and everything for my little spat back at the crib.”

I laughed.

“Why? I don’t recall you saying anything personal. Some people are way too sensitive. I’m not one of them. I just really don’t be caring about words like that. Actions hurt me much more.”

“See, and that’s why I like you. You seem like a female who just goes with the flow of shit.”

“Yeah, I guess you can say that. It’s all I’ve ever known how to do.”

He flashed a smile at me before turning back to the road.

We continued to ride in silence, and the trip from the strip last night seemed to take half of the time it was taking for us to get back that way.

From the sirens and flashing lights up ahead, I could see that there had been an accident.

Besides me being antsy to see what’s going on with Josiah, I felt guilty enjoying the extra time riding shotgun next to Hawk in a Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

The radio station was playing one of my favorite songs, Dreaming of Me, by Sir, when my phone rang, and I hated to have to tell him to turn his music down, but it was Ari.

“Hello.”

“Cyn! The police checked the room, but he isn’t there, and they say he hasn’t been to his room at all in the past two days, according to hotel security cameras. What the fuck is going on? What am I supposed to do now?”

Ari sounded so upset that she made me upset, and my voice quivered as I replied to her.

“Listen, it’s going to be okay. We will find him, and we are all going to curse his ass out for scaring us like this. Okay?”

“Ok. Ok. We will. But let me call his brother back now. I’m almost to his hotel now.” She replied and then hung up the phone.

I put my face in my palms and shook my head slowly.

“You okay?” Hawk asked.

“I’m trying to be. I just hope nothing crazy went down with Josiah. If he’s somewhere hurt, then that is going to break Ari even more.”

“She doesn’t have his location? She doesn’t know the last place he went?”

“No, I, I guess not.” I stared out of the window with a blank expression.

“The last time they talked, I believe, was when we landed Friday, but I’m actually not sure if she spoke with him that night because I came with you guys.”

“Damn.” He got silent, scratching under his chin like he was thinking.

“Look, send me a picture and I can send it out to a few clubs and casino owners to see if they saw that nigga inside their spots. Now, some of the bigger casinos I don’t have ties to, but I can see what I can do.”

“Are you for real?”

“Yeah.”

“Wow, thank you so much, Hawk. I really appreciate it.”

I went to my phone and opened Josiah’s Facebook page, finding the most recent picture he posted.

I screen-shot it, Hawk told me his phone number, and I sent the message out.

When he opened the message, he stared at the picture for a few seconds, then put it down and stared straight ahead out the window, without a word.

“So, can you help?”

“Yeah, yeah, I got you. I’ll do what I can.”

He replied, and I was a tad bit relieved, especially for Ari. At least now we have an inside scoop on his whereabouts from someone who knows the city and people in it. I pray his ass is found safe very soon for my friend’s sanity if nothing else.
