Chapter 70

CHAPTER SEVENTY

THE HEATHEN

Istand ready to go with Noah and his men because I’ll do anything to protect Knox and Carter. They might be angry with me but I’m not going to sit here while they get shot.

Because of me.

When I step forward, I turn back and face two of my men.

“Love is worth dying for. I love you.”

The scent of roses surrounds me as I attempt to focus on Carter. My end is near. I can feel it in my blood.

Noah grabs my arms and yanks me against his front as both of my men stare at me, eyes full of emotion mixed with fury.

Carter speaks words meant for me. Words I once said to him.

“We will find you. If a love is worth dying for, is it not also worth living for? This is the beginning of the most beautiful love story ever told. Because it’s ours.”

He takes in a sharp breath.

“It’s not over, Little Heathen, it’s to be continued.”
