Chapter Eighteen
Raider
I storm out of the club pissed because the last time this fuckhead was here, he left with Anastasia.
This time he will be lucky to leave with his motherfucking life.
Stepping out of the clubhouse and into the parking lot, I find most of the brothers there.
I look to Anvil, cocking an eyebrow in question.
“They’re eating breakfast,” Anvil shrugs. “Figured we didn’t need all of them since we have a special guest inside.”
I give him a nod in understanding before turning my attention to the single vehicle holding a man who looks nothing like the head of the Alfaro Cartel that stood here a week ago with Shea. Not in the mood to wait for him to tell me what the fuck is happening, I start the conversation.
“You must be pretty fucking stupid to come back here.”
“Well, at this point I’ve got nothing to lose, so why not be stupid,” Jose holds his hands out wide.
“Jose, correct me if I’m wrong, but are you not the man in charge of the Alfaro Cartel? That would stand to say you’ve got a lot to lose,” I state flatly.
“You see, that’s the thing. Father decided he didn’t like the direction I was taking things. Seems he got wind that Shea,” He spits her name like it's a cuss word, “crossed the line and pissed off people with a much longer reach. So, he showed up yesterday and let’s say he’s no longer retired.”
Well, fuck that cannot be good. “Still doesn’t tell me why the fuck you're standing in my compound.”
“Father stated that in order for me to just lose my position and keep my head, I have to make admins with certain people. You were the first stop on my way out,” Jose’s words get anger the longer he speaks.
“Tell your father that your apology isn’t accepted, and if we find any of your men or business in our territory again, we will burn your entire organization to the fucking ground,” I spit at his feet before turning to walk away.
“She’s on the run and fucking pissed,” Jose’s words stop me in my tracks.
I look over my shoulder at the man. “And why would you be telling me this?”
If I thought his having to apologize to us made him angry, then this makes him fucking livid.
“When my father showed up, she packed up and left. Yes, I backed the sex trafficking ring and got her in contact with the people she needed to make it happen, but she brought it to me. When I met her, she was on the run from my father for overstepping with her new business. Then I took over and got led around by my dick.”
Turning around to face him, I ask, “And who were the people that helped her get this shit up and running?”
“I will not give you anything else until the slate is wiped clean,” he says, crossing his arms over his chest.
I don’t move as I’m trying to decide what to do next when, out of nowhere, he screams, holding his leg just above his knee. Sticking out slightly and swaying, is a throwing knife. I drop my head back, looking up at the sky.
“Damn it, Blender, you’re going to have to clean that shit up,” Anvil barks, rubbing his forehead.
Blender says nothing, just stands there twirling another blade between his fingers.
“As you can see, you don’t have much of an option because the man that just threw that blade is the very fucking psychotic brother of one of the women that died because of Shea and her bullshit.
So, unless you want to continue collecting knives, I would just fucking get on with it.
” I say it like this is an everyday thing. At this fucking point, it is.
“Fuck, fuck, okay,” Jose groans out, “All I know is when she first started it was with two guys both attached to MCs. I later found out that one was you guys, though that ended when Relic died, and the other was the Lucifer’s Knights.
They’ve been a little MIA since the night they blew up one of our strongholds a fucking year ago. ”
Several curses ring out around me. Those motherfuckers have been a cancer for many years, and it looks like we’re about to rid the world of the cancer.
“My words stand true. Keep the cartel and its business out of our territory, and we won’t come for you. Outside of that, the club will never forgive you, and I’ll reach out to your father to work out a deal with him.” I nod at the man before turning to go find Anastasia and a fucking cup of coffee.
Terro follows me inside. “Get Hermes to dig into those motherfuckers. We will need some actual intel on them before we make Ainsley relive those memories.”
“You got it, Prez,” he slaps me on the back.
I fight the need to go find Anastasia and Rusher instead of going to my office to try to wrap my brain around what just went down.
Add to that there are a few phone calls I need to make.
I’m so lost in my head when I make it to my office that it doesn’t register that my office door is unlocked until I push it open and find Roxy sifting through paperwork.
“Please tell me I’m seeing shit!” I sneer, leaning against the door frame.
She looks up at me, shocked for a split second before a sly smile spreads across her face. “Raider, it’s so good to see you.”
“Roxy, what the actual fuck are you doing in my office? How in the hell did you get into the club?” I don’t answer her.
I take a good long look at the woman who disappeared at the same time Relic did. She looks like the whore that was run through. Roxy stands at her full height trying to look seductive.
“I was waiting for you,” she purrs, taking a step towards me.
Hurting women is not something I condone or entertain ninety percent of the time.
Then there is that ten percent, which includes this very woman.
I stand there, allowing her to encroach on my personal space.
When her hand lands on my chest, I reach up and grab hold of her wrist, twisting it up behind her back and pulling it between her shoulders while I spin, slamming her against the wall in the hallway.
“You better get to fucking talking and talking fast. You’ve been MIA since the day Relic went away. So, why the fuck were you in my motherfucking office digging through club business?” My anger is rising because we already know she was part of the sex trafficking ring.
Several brothers start to gather around watching us but not saying anything. Roxy is able to produce some very fake tears as she tries to fight my hold on her.
“Raider, what is this? Why’re you treating me this way? Wasn’t I always good to you boys?” she gasps around fake sobs.
I lean in, and the hint of stale cigarettes and body odor assaults me.
“You were nothing but a whore when Relic was Prez, and that’s all you will ever fucking be.
Do not think you’re something you are not,” I drop my voice to a whisper.
“This time you will not make it out of the club. Now, why the fuck were you in my office?”
Roxy’s eyes are wide, the understanding finally setting in. “Raider, please. I was just trying to find some of my personal documents I left with Relic. That’s all, I swear that’s all.”
“See, I would like to believe you. I really would, but you know why I can’t?” I tighten my hold on her wrist to keep her still.
Tears are falling and smearing all the makeup on her face. “Why? I mean it, Raider. Just let me get what I came for, and I’ll be gone. The Kings of Anarchy will never see or hear from me again.”
Looking over, I give Blender an evil smile. “You go something sharp on you?”
He just cocks his head, and then there is a throwing knife in the wall just beside Roxy’s head. I reach up and snatch it out of the wall before loosening my hold on Roxy just a little.
“I would stand extremely still. We wouldn’t want you to bleed on the new wood floors,” my voice is low, sinister.
Roxy’s eyes are so wide that for once there is something besides her pupil showing.
She just nods but doesn’t move. Shit, I don’t think she’s breathing.
So, I use the knife in my hand to slice open the side of the shirt that already barely covers her tits, putting on display her badly done Lucifer's Knights patch tattooed on her side.
I point at it and lightly run the blade over the patch. “This right is why I think you’re full of shit and why the only place you will go is to the slaughterhouse.”
Roxy loses it. She thrashes and kicks. Screaming like a lunatic. Blender comes over, reaching out and wrapping his very large hands around her throat. “Choice to be made—quiet or dead.”
Roxy falls still, but we can feel the terror rolling off her in waves. He gives her a nod before turning to walk her down the hall and out the back door. Rhino and Token follow behind him. I turn back to the rest of the men as they watch them go.
Terro comes to the mouth of the hallway, looking at everyone gathered. “Did I miss the invite for a party?”
I answer him smirking, “No, just a lesson on taking out the trash. I want this office gutted. I mean everything—it needs to go down to the studs. Roxy was in there digging for something, which means there is information in there.”
Terro nods. “We’ll get it done this week.”
Movement behind the guys catches my attention, and I look up to see Anastasia standing there wide-eyed. I smile at her, getting a sweet smile back from her. Looking down at my watch, I see we still have several hours before the meeting with everyone.
I walk past the guys to her. “Has remedy checked your leg yet?”
“No. Rusher just left with Twitch. I was coming to see if you knew where he was or how I could contact him,” she says, avoiding my eyes.
“His number should be in your phone. Truthfully all the brother’s numbers should be there in case you need something,” I tell her, wrapping my arms around her waist, pulling her into me.
“I’ll get ahold of Remedy and find out when he can check your leg.
You go find Ainsley or Charlie to see if either of them has some jeans and a long sleeve you can wear to go for a ride. ”
