Chapter 6 – Jasper

“You’re a fucking idiot. You know that right?”

“Hey,” I say over to Kimber.

“You’re damn lucky that I’m not slapping you around the head, too.”

“Do you really want to turn to violence?” I ask, but I get a feeling that I know what her answer is going to be.

“Yes, I do. You have fancied Otis for a while. He kissed you and then you kissed him back and then what did you do? You ran out of there. So, yeah, violence is needed.”

“But…” I start.

“There is no but. You shouldn’t have left. What you should’ve done is stayed and talked. I will be having words with Marcus when I see him next. Encouraging such stupid behaviour.”

“I should’ve stayed and what, listened to Otis tell me how confused he is?” I state.

“Yes. And listened to him while he explained why he kissed you, not to mention called you sir. He knows that you’re a Dom.”

I really hate it when Kimber talks sense, but I really wanted her to be on my side. To tell me that what I did wasn’t stupid. I think she might have agreed with me until Otis had called me and she had heard him talking to me. Not many people stand up to me like that.

“I’m sure the kiss was a mistake and Otis just wants to be nice and tell me in person.”

“You really are a twat at times,” Kimber says. “I heard Otis as clear as day tell you that he didn’t regret the kiss.”

“Yeah..”

“If you say but, I’m going to come over there and slap you.”

“It’s just…” And his name is on the tip of my tongue. I know that Otis is nothing like Clive, but I’m not sure that I can risk getting hurt again and losing a friend. Because I can see me and Otis being good friends.

“He isn’t Clive,” Kimber says.

“How can I be so sure? Otis is straight,” I retort back.

“I don’t think he’s as straight as you think. He made the first move. He initiated that kiss, not you. There is something more going on with him and you owe it to yourself to find out.”

“And get hurt.”

“Or maybe not. Was the kiss good?” Kimber asks.

Was the kiss good? Fuck, that kiss was everything. Otis let me take control and his lips were firm. It might have been the hottest kiss that I have had in a long time, maybe even ever.

“The kiss was…” And I can’t help the smile that plays on my lips.

“Oh God. It was that good. Hey, maybe he’s bi. You think I have a shot if you don’t want him?”

A growl escapes me at the thought, which just causes Kimber to burst out laughing.

“You can’t be a Dom here. So back down. But that reaction tells me that you like him, so don’t say anything stupid when he comes here.”

“You’re not staying?”

“No, I’m not. You can take him to room two. It’s not booked out tonight,” Kimber tells me.

“Room two.”

Room two was my room. Kimber started to use it for only my bookings due to the size.

I was able to be dominant with ease in that room.

It was also the only room in the house that had the two couches in it.

Which was nice when I had the booking where people just needed to talk.

But it was also the room I used with Clive.

“Yes, room two. It’s the room that you are most comfortable in. You need that today. Also…” But Kimber stops talking and just looks over to me. There is something else that she wants to say and is trying to find the right words.

“What Kimber?”

“You need to tell Otis about Clive,” Kimber finishes.

“Why the fuck would I do that? He really doesn’t need to know.”

“Jasper, yes he does,” Kimber states. “If Otis wants to explore something with you, he needs to know why you might be holding back.”

“Why would I hold back?” I ask.

“Because, I know you.” Kimber gives me a gentle smile.

Just as I’m about to answer, my mobile rings, making us both jump. I had placed it on the kitchen table where Kimber and I had been sitting after the initial call with Otis. Picking up the mobile I see his number on the screen. I hadn’t been brave enough to save it into my phone.

“Hi,” I say, answering the phone.

“I think I’m at the back of the house. There are large gates,” Otis says.

“Yeah, that’s it. Give me a sec and I will open them. Just come up the stairs.”

“See you in a minute,” Otis replies, and I think I can hear the excitement in his voice. I know that I need to get up from my chair and go meet him. Yet, I don’t move.

“Oh, good God,” I hear Kimber mutter, and am vaguely aware of her movements, and then there is a knock on the door.

“You must be Otis?” I hear Kimber say.

“Yes. Thank you for letting me invade your home or business,” Otis replies.

“It’s both,” Kimber replies, and I hear the chuckle in her voice. “Jasper is being a scaredy cat, come this way.”

“Scaredy cat?” Otis asks.

“I’ll let him talk to you. I told him to take you to room two, if that’s okay. More private,” Kimber explains.

“That’s great, but that won’t affect your work for the evening, will it? I can take Jasper to my place, if needed.”

“That’s very kind of you Otis, but it’s fine,” Kimber replies, and from the tone of her voice I know that Otis has won Kimber over, in a matter of minutes.

I watch as Otis and Kimber walk back into the kitchen area. The smile that spreads across Otis’s face is just beautiful, and a warmth spreads through me.

“I’ll leave you guys to it,” Kimber starts, and takes a step behind Otis so he can’t see her, points to him and mouths the words ‘I like him’ before retreating away, and I can feel the smile on my face.

“I think you just made an impression on Kimber,” I say over to him.

“I like her. She doesn’t hold back, does she?” Otis replies.

“She doesn’t,” I confirm.

“Family trait then,” Otis says, giving me another smile.

“Otis,” I start. Needing to get this over with, because if he keeps smiling like that at me, I’m not going to be responsible for my actions.

“Jasper,” Otis states back.

“You wanted to talk.” Wanting to get this conversation moving.

“I did. Kimber mentioned the use of a room, maybe we can go there? But we can talk here too, if you prefer.”

Fuck, this man is so Goddamn nice. Why did I have to fall for the nice, straight guy that will no doubt break my heart in a matter of minutes?

“Let’s go to the room,” I say, because I get a feeling, if we stay here, Kimber will eavesdrop. Getting up from my chair, I make my way over to the doorway when I hear Otis.

“Is there a bed in there?”

“Yeah, why?” The question causing me to stop in my tracks.

“Wondering. Never really been inside a working bedroom,” Otis replies.

“Are you okay going in there?” Wondering what on earth we can do if he has an issue.

“Yeah, it’s like going into your office. The place where you used to work. I can show you my old F2 car if it makes you feel better.”

“You really don’t care that I used to work here, do you?”

“You were in a safe environment. Kimber wouldn’t have let you get hurt and the money got you out of debt. So, yeah, I really don’t care.”

Walking over to Otis, I pinch his arm.

“Ow!” Otis replies, rubbing his arm. “What the hell was that for?”

“I just needed to make sure you were real,” I reply, giving him a smile. Clive never really liked the fact that I continued to work. He never said anything, but there were little snide comments here and there. That, maybe, should’ve been my warning that what we had wasn’t going to end well.

“Is this because I don’t care about your previous line of work?” Otis asked.

“Maybe,” I confirm.

“I’m sure that you were safe and got your health checked regularly?” Otis asks.

I like how simply Otis puts things. Because Kimber always valued safety and made sure that all her workers got tested regularly. Just in case.

“Yeah, I did. But Kimber’s policy is safe sex. We had to use condoms all the time. A client’s appointment would be cancelled if they tried to bypass that,” I tell him. It’s so strange that I can talk so freely with Otis about this work. I have only done that with Kimber.

“That is sensible,” Otis replies.

I hadn’t realised that we still hadn’t left the kitchen. I was so taken aback with Otis. Suddenly, I’m now wondering where this conversation is going to take us. Otis might not regret the kiss, but that doesn’t mean that he wants more. But now I think that we can be friends, and that is exciting.

“Let’s get to the room,” I say to him.

Walking out of the kitchen, I make my way up the stairs with Otis following behind me.

Once outside room two, I open the door and push it open, flick on the light switch, and raise my hand for Otis to enter first and I follow him in.

Closing the door, I turn the lock, so that we have some privacy.

All the doors are left open unless being used and then always locked from the inside.

“Wow!” Otis exclaims. “It looks normal.” But I don’t think he meant to say the last words out loud.

“Normal?”

“Oops. Sorry,” Otis says, and I think I see a light blush on his cheeks. “I was just expecting….”

“Rooms covered in red. Like on the tele,” I guess.

“Yeah, which is so stupid,” Otis replies.

“Maybe, but I’m guessing that this is your first time in an establishment like this,” I venture.

“Well, not one as classy as this. I needed to get relief somehow,” Otis replies.

“What?” I exclaim. I never expected Otis to have paid for sex, and I can’t help but stare at him, until he bursts out laughing, and I realise that he was joking.

“Sorry, couldn’t resist,” Otis gets out through his laughter.

“Git,” I mumble back, which I think makes him laugh harder.

“You did walk into that,” Otis finally says once he manages to stop laughing.

“Shall we go sit?” Needing to get this conversation started, and before Otis can even reply I start walking.

We both make our way over to the couch, and just when I think Otis is going to sit opposite me, he sits down right next to me. Which isn’t the ideal way to have a conversation, but it’s nice having him close.

“So you wanted to talk?” I start, shifting in my seat to face him.

“Yeah,” Otis confirms, and I watch as he runs his tongue over his lips, and I can’t help but wonder if he’s nervous.

“So talk.”
