Chapter 11 - Otis #2

“Has anyone ever told you that you’re very bossy? You’d probably make a good Dom,” Jasper asks with a smirk.

“Oh God no. I definitely want to give up control, not command it. Who on earth would want to swap?” I add.

“Well,” Jasper says with a smile, “David for one.”

“You’re joking. David was a sub but is now a Dom? But what about Richard?” I ask.

“Sub,” Jasper confirms.

“Shit. But how the hell do you know that Richard is a sub?”

“I met him at Kimber’s,” Jasper tells me, and then I remember Marcus telling me that Jasper had history with them both.

“So you have been with both Richard and David as their Dom?” I ask.

“Yeah,” Jasper confirms. “I have wanted to talk to you about it. But it’s not the easiest conversation to bring up.”

“Marcus warned me that you had history with the both of them,” I tell Jasper honestly.

“I’m seriously going to kill Marcus. The secrets he has told you,” Jasper adds, and for the first time, I think he’s actually annoyed with him. Shit, that isn’t good.

“It wasn’t Marcus’s fault; I was telling him how jealous I was of your relationship with them. The three of you are so close,” I explain.

“We do have a special bond,” Jasper confirms, “but I promise you that I would never cheat on you. My relationship with Richard and David is purely friendship.”

“Marcus told you, didn’t he?” I ask. There was something about the way Jasper said ‘cheated’. “You aren’t allowed to kill him, I am. He had no right.”

“You should’ve told me,” Jasper counters.

“There was no point. It was in my past. I was hurt. That’s the end of the story,” I tell him, because that really is it.

“How could she do that to you?” Jasper demands.

“I was away a lot. She needed company. It happened. I heard that she recently got engaged. So, it worked out for them.”

“Otis,” Jasper starts. “Just because they got engaged, doesn’t make their actions okay.”

“I know. But I can’t change the past, and it would’ve ended anyway, considering I seem to be liking dick more.” And I give him a smile.

“Liking dick?” Jasper asks.

“Well I like your dick. Still not sure if I’d like anyone else’s,” I say, then quickly add, “not that I’m planning to try other dicks.” Shit, I really need to engage my brain before I talk.

“If you have never been attracted to men before, what made me so special?” Jasper asks, and that’s a question that I have asked myself many times over the last few months.

“Do you remember that first morning we were introduced?” I ask him.

“How could I forget? Richard and David did it on purpose because I had told them how hot I thought you were,” Jasper explains.

“You thought I was hot?”

“Have you seen yourself? Yes, I thought you were hot. Do you know how gutted I was when I was told that you were straight?” Jasper continues.

“Well you’re the only man that’s made a move on me.”

“How many gay clubs have you been in? And I’m betting that if you have any gay friends they’ve been friends for a while and so they know that you dated girls.”

“I actually don’t really have many friends.

My life has been racing, and I have never been to a gay club.

” I feel slightly embarrassed that I have admitted that I don’t have many friends.

But racing took up so much of my time. I started karting when I was eight, and if there wasn’t a race on the weekend then I was working on the kart.

That didn’t leave much time for friendships.

“So no one had the chance to hit on you, which I’m personally quite glad about,” Jasper responds.

“Otis you better come in here, bring Jasper too,” Mum shouts from the living room.

Getting up from our seats, we make our way into the living room. Mum has the tele on and has paused the programme that she was watching, and when I look over, I’m shocked to see my ex-girlfriend filling the TV screen.

“You still think that she wasn’t looking for fame?” Mum asks as she hits play.

My ex-girlfriend starts talking about how she used to date me, but that we broke up recently. That she didn’t understand why as we had been so happy together. How she had supported me for years but was thrown away when I was given the F1 contract.

“What the fuck,” I say and I’m already pulling out my phone, “we broke up months ago. There had been talk of a contract but she didn’t know about it.”

“Otis, call Charmaine and Vincent now. This isn’t going to go down well,” Jasper adds.

“Mum, is this a main news channel?” Hoping that it’s not.

“I’m not sure, I just turned it on and there the little tramp was,” Mum states.

I pull up Charmaine’s number on my phone and hit call. I’m not sure if she was expecting my call, but she answered after just one ring.

“Charmaine, are you watching the tele?” I ask.

“Marcus just came and told me. He was scanning some of our socials. Is she telling the truth?” Charmaine asks.

“We dated,” because there is no point in lying, “But we broke up months ago.”

“Did she know that you were moving to F1?” Charmaine probes.

“No. We were done a long time before that,” I add, “our relationship hadn’t been working. My mum said that she was looking for fame.”

“Well, it looks like she was right. But from what we can see on the socials, it might be backfiring on her. Your image is squeaky clean, and people are saying that you’re too nice to be so cruel to someone,” Charmaine adds.

“So what’s the plan?” I ask.

“Where are you at the moment?” Charmaine asks.

“I’m with my mum. I came to visit for a few days,” I tell her.

“Good, stay there. The reporters are in full force. I don’t think they know where your mum lives so you should be okay.

I don’t think it will be a good idea to go back to your flat when you come back.

Security isn’t great there. We’re going to release a statement which hopefully makes this go away. ”

“I’m sorry Charmaine. I never saw this coming,” I say down the line. This is not how I wanted my career to start.

“It’s nothing, Otis, don’t worry about it. I will admit it’s nice that you actually have some skeletons in the closet. Compared to Lars and David hiding their sexuality, the press have had nothing to dig up.”

“If that is supposed to make me feel better, it doesn’t. This year was supposed to be about my driving. How I am going to beat Lars’s records. Not about my love life.”

“Otis, this will go away. Your driving is what will get people talking, trust me. Everyone remembers what you were like at the end of the last season,” Charmaine adds. “But look, let me get going on the statement. I’ll give you a call in a few days.”

“Thanks, Charmaine.” I hang up the call.

“What did she say?” Jasper demands.

“She said that it would all go away. That she was going to make a statement. Marcus is already checking the socials,” I explain. “But she wants me to stay here for a few days, and doesn’t want me to go back to the flat when I return.”

“That’s understandable,” Jasper adds. “Do you have anywhere you can go?”

“No. Maybe a hotel?” I state.

“Hang on,” Jasper says, and he pulls out his phone and taps the screen.

“Hey,” he says down the line, “yeah we saw. I have no idea. I think he is pretty pissed. But when we get back, we need to stay somewhere secure.” He pauses while listening to whoever he’s talking to and a smile plays on his lips, “yes, I said we, and thank you. I will let you know when we’re on the way. Bye.”

“Jasper?” I question.

“That was Kimber. It’s the most secure place I know. We, or you, can stay there,” Jasper says.

“ Will she be okay with that?” Not sure I can believe that Kimber would offer up her home to me just like that.

“Considering how much she loved the fact that I just said ‘can we stay’, yeah, she doesn’t mind,” Jasper adds.

“That won’t affect her business, will it?” Mum asks.

“No, Kimber has her own rooms in the house. Otis will be safe there,” Jasper adds.

“Thank her for me, that was very kind of her,” Mum adds.

“Kimber likes Otis. I think she has a bit of a soft spot for him,” Jasper adds, “and she likes that Otis makes me happy.”

I don’t think he realised that he said it, so caught up in the situation, but I heard him.

I make him happy, and I have to admit that I loved hearing that, because Jasper makes me happy.

I never thought that I would meet someone who could make me this happy.

It shows what I have been missing all these years. Jasper.
