Chapter 5 Systems and Confessions

My eyes caught Ji Shijing's expression stiffen, his voice turning hoarse.

"Wife... what sisters? What are you talking about?"

Si Han was a Quick-Transmigration Worker too.

In the previous world, we had worked together to deal with a scumbag.

To avoid affecting the plot, we had kept our connection hidden.

Yet it was exposed anyway.

Si Han scooped me up and held me close, soothing me.

"There, there. Don't cry."

She lifted her chin and looked at Ji Shijing with arrogance.

"Since you asked so sincerely..."

Ji Shijing cut in.

"I didn't ask."

Si Han shot him a glare and continued.

"Then I'll tell you out of mercy."

"We are Quick-Transmigration Workers and the closest sisters in the world."

"You are just a tool. After we completed the mission, the system abandoned us here. We had no choice but to keep playing along with you."

The mission should have ended ten months ago. After that day, neither of our systems appeared again.

I had no other option but to be reborn as their daughter.

I could not keep floating around as a ghost while watching them act lovey-dovey.

Ji Shijing's eyes lost their light.

He looked like he had walked straight out of a melodramatic soap opera.

His once bright dark brown pupils turned empty and dejected.

"So I was just a Paper Person?"

"So love disappears, right?"

Si Han nodded.

"Yes."

Ji Shijing lunged forward and hugged her waist, sobbing.

"Wife, if you don't love me, I can't live without you."

Si Han frowned and sighed.

"But you are just a Paper Person. I got you for free without spending a single coin."

"You are cheaper than the six-star Charlie Su card I pulled with hundreds of North Stars before."

"People always want what they cannot have and ignore what comes easily. That is just how I am."

Ji Shijing collapsed onto the hospital bed and cried harder.

Si Han ignored him.

She placed me on the pillow and waved her hands in disgust.

"You are too heavy, Lin Yi. I cannot carry you anymore. Lie down by yourself and stay quiet."

Being in an infant body made me sleepy. My head touched the pillow and I yawned.

"Hah..."

Si Han thought I was hungry and quickly covered her chest.

"Breastfeeding will make them sag. Do not even think about it."

I was speechless.

Even if she offered, I would not drink.

A notification sounded between the three of us.

"Congratulations, host Si Han, for awakening the Bad Mom System:

1. Do not spoil your daughter. She must handle her own matters. A mother must not help.

2. When your daughter faces difficulties or bullying, you must stand aside and act as a cold, heartless bad woman.

3. Do not give your daughter pocket money. Do not spend money raising her. After she reaches adulthood, demand money from her. The focus is on exploiting both the old and the young.

4. Strictly follow the above three rules or face punishment."

Si Han stared at me awkwardly.

"Well..."

Ji Shijing, who had been crying, lifted his head with red eyes.

The pitiful look vanished. His face now showed wild arrogance.

"Hahaha, you little menace. Si Han cannot protect you anymore. Watch me strangle you!"

Another notification rang out.

"Congratulations, Paper Person Ji Shijing, for awakening the Good Dad System:

1. Do not hit, scold, blame, or mock your daughter, or you will be punished.

2. Your daughter's matters are your matters. You must help and fulfill your fatherly duties.

3. Except in cases of force majeure, you must carefully nurture your daughter until she turns thirty.

4. Strictly follow the above three rules or face punishment."

Ji Shijing froze for a second, then roared.

"Forget this trash Good Dad System... until she is thirty? I will be sixty by then! Why not just make me care for her until she dies?"

The system replied.

"Third rule modified successfully. Except in cases of force majeure, Ji Shijing must carefully nurture his daughter until she turns eighty."

Ji Shijing collapsed to the floor.
