Inside my apartment, I put the boxed leftovers in the fridge and suck down an entire bottle of water.
I open my balcony doors and step outside. The wind kicks up, blowing my hair all around my face. Eoghan did a number on me. Meticulously pulling out my pins until every strand loosely fell into his hands. He had called it his silken treasure.

Down below, I watch for moving headlights, or an idled car parked out on the street.
A car lumbers past my building but doesn’t stop.
It feels wrong to hope Johnny shows up. That was the whole point of this night with Eoghan. Complicating things, though, I’m starting to feel something for him.
